Amazing. Perfect apartment and perfect location

Loved everything about this apartment. It was so spacious and overlooking a canal. The bed was very comfortable and a king size. The perfect location to get anywhere , close to a grocery store and all main attractions. I could sit for hours watching the canal. The back patio was also perfect. I would recommend this place to anyone. Can't wait to come,back.

Great Neighborhood

If for few days you would like to feel a part of an Amsterdam neighborhood yet be within easy walking distance of much of what Amsterdam has to offer its visitors, then this is a place for you. On the second floor of a residential building, this sunny apartment overlooks the Lauriergracht, is but a block from the Prinsengracht, and is an easy walk to both the Dam and Central Station. Tram and bus stops also are near by. That said, the only time my wife and I took a tram or bus was to go to the Rijksmuseum and that was more for the adventure than the need. My favorite places to walk, however, were my morning strolls to the near by cheese and pastry shops and to the local grocery, dodging the bicycles, and imaging what a fine place this would be to live. When not on their bicycles, our neighbors were friendly, welcoming, and more than once, unasked, came to our aid when they saw us puzzling over a street map. The apartment itself was very pleasant with a large, bright living and dining space, a small but efficient kitchen, a comfortable bedroom, and an inviting deck off the kitchen. The bathroom with just shower and toilet is cramped but adequate. There is a sink, not in the bathroom, but in the bedroom. Though this surprised us at first, it turned out to be a convenient arrangement. The apartment was clean when we arrived, but the dishes needed to be redone and some spilled coffee needed to be cleaned up. Given the overall cleanliness of the apartment, we attributed this to the carelessness of the previous tenants and, perhaps, a rushed inspection of the premises before we arrived. All in all we highly recommend this apartment for its comfort and for the opportunity it gives its visitors, if only for a few days, to immerse oneself into the flow of a great city.

Our reservation was cancelled at the last minute

We reserved this apartment well in advance and were told one week before our arrival the there was a 'problem" with the property and they cancelled our reservation forcing us to find a last minute replacement. I can't be sure, but we wondered if they didn't just find a renter that was willing to pay more and took them over us. #sceptical

Owner's Response: It is very disappointing to get this review as the apartment was cancelled purely for safety reasons with the guests well-being at the forefront. There was a leak from the roof which was running through the electric wiring making the apartment potentially dangerous for guests. As such we took the decision to cancel bookings in peak season, at substantial cost to ourselves. This has now been fixed and the apartment is in perfect order and we again have happy clients. We apologise to the guests for the inconvenience, and assure you that it was a serious issue.

Great canal view, perfect location!

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay there immensely. The location was perfect and we walked everywhere easily. I really liked the view of the canal outside the front window and I could watch the bicycles go by too. The bathroom is a little small but the really comfortable bed makes up for it! David and Cookie went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of!

Cosy, Romantic with a spectacular canal view

This is a gem of an apartment situated in the heart of the old town. The view over the canal is mesmerising. You see Dutch life rolling by on bicycles. It is close to everything by foot, and is charming and well maintained.

Simply perfect,

How lucky we were to find this place!!! Location -you can't wish for better one, we even didn't have a bikes -just feet was enough . Yes, the bed was very good , so is sofa. I would say not 2, 4 people can stay in this place very comfortably .
