Overview

Photos and Description of this 6 bedroom holiday home in Westbrook - Sea View House

Sleeps Up To 12. A 6 Bedroom, 6 Bathroom Period House With Stunning Sea Views

This house is a large and well equipped Victorian town house arranged over four floors. We renovated the property in 2013 and this included new bathrooms, kitchen, heating, decoration etc.

We hope the pictures give a flavour of the high standard to which the the property has been renovated.

The house sleeps up to 12 people in 6 bedrooms. However the house is arranged so that it is also possible to be used as 2 fully separate units:

Firstly, a 2 bedroom apartment, complete with 2 ensuite shower rooms, a large open plan sitting room/kitchen and a small self contained rear courtyard.

Secondly, a 4 bedroom house with 2 ensuite shower rooms a family bathroom and further shower room and cloakroom. The house also enjoys a large dining room opening into a modern kitchen, a large and elegant first floor sitting room (with covered verandah and sea views) and a separate family TV and games room, which opens out to the rear garden.

There is an full internal staircase which links the house when used as a whole but which can be locked off top and bottom when the apartment is not rented with the main house.

As well as a generous first floor living room, there is a well appointed kitchen leading into the dining room. There is also a ground floor play room and a door leads out from this room into the garden.

Key Features

*Sleeps up to 12

*6 Bedrooms (4 with ensuite showers)

*Walking distance to all amenities

The house has been furnished to a very high standard and is large and spacious, able to sleep up to 12 people in 6 bedrooms. It is designed to appeal to:

*Large family groups or extended families

*2 families sharing

*Groups of friends wanting a spacious house to share

It is not suitable for stag/hen weekends or for groups under the age of 25.

Practicalities

Please note that the property is laid out over 4 floors with the sitting room on the 1st floor.

There are steps up to both the front door and down to the door to the lower ground floor apartment

The house is well equipped for children of all ages and there are two travel cots to use during your stay. In addition, there is a highchair, booster seats and toys suitable for toddlers, which means that you don’t need to completely fill the car with babies’ or children’s bits and pieces!

For older children, there are games and puzzles as well as a separate ground floor family room equipped with large flat screen TV, video and games console. The room is tucked away at the rear of the house and has its own access into the rear garden

Living Space

Main Living room - This high ceilinged sitting room is at the front of the house, on the first floor. It is a bright and spacious room with superb sea views and French doors leading to the verandah. It is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs providing a relaxing place to unwind.

The room also has the benefit of a large screen TV, DVD player, and hifi system with Ipod dock.

Family Room - There is also a separate family room on the ground floor which comes equipped with large flat screen TV, video player, games console and sofa. There is also a table football and surround sound hifi system with ipod dock

Kitchen & Dining

For many, one of the main hearts of a house is the kitchen. This is certainly so at the Sea View House, with the spacious modern kitchen providing the hub and connecting to the equally spacious dining room through large double doors. The kitchen is well equipped and includes:

Gaggia automatic espresso coffee machine

Food processor, toaster and kettle

Microwave oven

Large American style fridge freezer with automatic ice maker and separate wine & beer compartment

There is also a plentiful supply of pots pans utensils bowls etc to ensure that you really can cook almost anything during your stay.

Outside there is an outdoor table and chairs to ensure that you can make the most of warm and balmy days on the coast.

Adjoining the kitchen and accessed via interconnecting double doors is the dining room. This room has a large modern table which seats 12 people comfortably. There is also sufficient crockery cutlery serving dishes and glasses to accommodate even the largest groups

Kids & Equipment

With 3 children of our own, we know how stressful holidays can become if the children’s requirements are not met. We also know how difficult it can be to travel with everything needed, particularly for toddlers and babies.

That’s why we have tried to include a variety of things to make your stay easy. As well as the well equipped family room, you will also find (if you need them):

2 X travel cots

2 x High chairs

Why Jacqui Barwood chose Kent

We fell in love with SeaView House as soon as we saw it. With stunning views out over the sea and a Blue Flag beach at the bottom of the steps, it is perfect for family holidays.

We spent almost 2 years restoring this Grade II listed Victorian town house back to its former glory.

The house is full of original Victorian charm complete with a large and elegant first floor sitting room with a covered verandah to enjoy the sea air.

Outside, it's straight onto the coastal footpath - turn left to Westgate on Sea and right to Margate with the Turner Contemporary Gallery and charming Old Town, complete with galleries, cafes and restaurants.

At the rear is a lovely secluded garden.

What makes this house unique

Our house is large and well equipped. It is possible to sleep up to 12 people. However the house is arranged so that it is also possible to be let as 2 fully separate units:

Firstly, a 2 bedroom apartment, complete with 2 ensuite shower rooms, a large open plan sitting room/kitchen and a small self contained rear courtyard.

The house also enjoys a large dining room opening into a modern kitchen, a large and elegant first floor sitting room with covered verandah and sea views and a separate family TV and games room, which opens out to the rear garden.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have stayed in many holiday houses and this was definitely one of the best. The house is beautiful and finished to such a high standard - it was a real treat to stay in and very spacious. The highlight had to be the location. It was fantastic to be able to walk down to the beach (where we spent all day playing on the Saturday) and not having to get in the car all weekend.

Fantastic location, beautifully appointed house

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time at Sea View Terrace. It is literally across the road from the beach (and down a flight of stairs). Because it was so close, we didn't have to load ourselves up with a day's supplies but could pop back and forth as needed.

The house is beautifully appointed, very nicely decorated and with lots of little touches that made our holiday run smoothly. Plenty of toys for toddlers and books and board games for older kids. Lovely views. We were a family of 2 adults and 3 children (age 3, 6 , 9), and we were joined for a few days by my parents who were able to be with us but also have their own space in the basement apartment. We had masses of space.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Thank you for lovely holiday accommodation.

Excellent, first class in all respects

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Margate, and certainly won't be our last. The accommodation was superb, with plenty of room for our party of 12 and baby (4 weeks old). We especially liked the lounge with balcony, ideal for afternoon chilling with the French doors open and the sound of the sea relaxing us. The range of equipment was extensive, with comfortable furniture and tastefully decorated throughout. The property was clean and well maintained. With regard to customer service, we cannot praise Jacqui and her staff enough. After a four hour journey home, one of our party (me) discovered that I had left my wallet behind in a cupboard drawer. In an above and beyond effort of coordination, Jacqui arranged for Donna to collect said wallet and mail it to me via special delivery, a deed that I was extremely grateful (and relieved) for. Many thanks to both these ladies. Overall, an excellent holiday package.

A brilliant holiday in a fabulous property

  • 5 of 5

Seaview House is a truly amazing property. The property is maintained to a high standard and very well equipped. It is definitely the best rental property I have ever stayed in, both home and abroad. The views from the balcony, lounge and dining room are simply stunning. We were treated to some amazing sunsets. No wonder Turner went there to paint! Our group was an extended family of twelve, including two children and the accommodation more than met all of our needs. All rooms are ensuite apart from the top floor but then they do have the advantage of a shower room and a bathroom and the views for the master bedroom are stunning.

The upstairs kitchen is exceptionally well equipped which made it easy for each family to cook up a storm on their allotted night. I've never seen a rental kitchen to be so well equipped. The huge american style fridge , freezer and wine fridge were more than adequate for all our needs. A bonus to have a dishwasher and washer/dryer. I am assured that the basement flat facilities were just as good and comfortable.

One of the pluses of this property is that being so large, everyone can have their own space. The kids enjoyed the play room and all the toys. They absolutely loved going crabbing every night after tea. The beach is literally across the steps and down the road.

Margate is a very lively town with extensive beaches. Really there is something for everyone. After a day in the town we really enjoyed the walk back along the seafront and the surroundings getting quieter and quieter as we moved further from the town. It's an easy 10 minute walk all on the flat. We were very fortunate with the weather. Hot and sunny every day. It began raining as we left today.

A pre dinner drink on the balcony watching the sun go down was more than pleasant. At that time of day the day trippers disappear and there is that lovey feeling of having it all to yourselves.

I would recommend the indian takeaway on the main road behind the house, The Ali ??? and also the chinese Yummy, Yummy. We had brilliant takeaways from both. Several of our band became very attached to Ales of The Unexpected, a micro pub on the same road.

A final mention must go to Jacqui the owner. Clearly we never met, but her correspondence was so friendly that I felt that I did know her. Throughout the booking process and during our stay she responded to questions immediately. A perfect host at a distance.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this property.

Lovely house near the beach

  • 5 of 5

10 of us stayed for a week in July 2016. Our ages ranged from 9 months to 92 and we all had a wonderful time. The house is very comfortable and well equipped and the children loved the play room with lots of new toys to discover. The rest of us particularly appreciated the very comfortable beds! Great location close to the beach - perfect for families with small children. Also had a good day out at Quex Park where there were good play facilities for the kids and nice cafes for the adults.
