Situated on the ramparts of the medieval town of Vence this modern loft apartment has views directly onto the Baous, hills behind the town. Its interior is stylish and personally designed, bringing all modern comforts to a 12th century building. It has a fantastic roof terrace where you can enjoy an evening meal or a breakfast in the open air with superb views onto the foothills of the Alps. Available all year round, this is a perfect place for the ones wanting to be central, in a picturesque village surrounded by restaurants, shops, markets and art galleries. Large open plan kitchen and living area. Fully equipped kitchen with large local artist personally designed dining table. Living area with DVD player and stereo surround sound. Internet access.1 double bedroom, bathroom with shower. Stairs leading to conservatory with single bed and terrace.
We are based in the UK and we spend many holidays in Vence with our children. We love the swimming pool in Vence, the beaches at Cagnes sur Mer, nearby villages St Jeannet and Tourettes sur Loup. We love the restaurants, markets and general hubbub of Vence life.
Jane Moser purchased this apartment in 2005
An excellent bolt hole at the heart of the Cote d'Azur. Vence is a lively town and is ideally located for the coast and for the nearby towns of Grasse, St Jeannet, St Paul, Nice, Cannes, Antibes. With many fabulous Michelin stared restaurants a mere 2 minute walk from the apartment and a super market every Tuesday and Friday, you won't go hungry.
Modernised 2010 - brand new bathroom ad fully fitted kitchen. Full oven and 4 electric ringed hob, dishwasher and washing machine. The apartment is air conditioned and has a super terrace that overlooks the mountains. The terrace is completely private and is not overlooked.
My wife and I spent a long weekend here in March and got lucky with the weather, which was high teens every day. The apartment is located in the centre of Vence but is tucked away back from the main shops, restaurants etc, giving it a private, quiet feel. Within 2 minutes walk of the nearest convenience shop, restaurant, bar and boulangerie, it couldn't be better situated. Then there is the terrace and the incredible views over the foothills of the Alps one way and a teasing glimpse of the Med in the other - perfect for a croissant and a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night. Bizarrely, despite being in a town the terrace is not overlooked at all and is therefore very private. All in all a great stay and we will be back! Thanks to the owners
Situated in the walls of this medieval old town, and accessed from an unassuming entrance off one of the beautiful cobbled streets, this flat is a real gem hidden away on the second floor at the top of the original stone spiral staircase. Its been stylishly and tastefully modernised with the decor reflecting both the buildings ancient character and Vence's art culture. We stay for a week as a family of 4 with two young children, and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The views from the small terrace of the surrounding hills and countryside are simply stunning, and a great place to watch the sunset! The old town in Vence is really charming and being traffic free is a great place to wander through the cobbled alleyways with kids and enjoy a coffee and browse the many local galleries. Vence is also a great base to easily explore the coastline from Nice to Cannes. Although we spent a lot of time at the local beach at Cagnes-sur-Mer which was great for kids with calm seas, and we found to be nicer and quieter than the more expense private beaches in Antibes. Would highly recommend the family run restaurant Auberge Des Segneurs.
Ideal location if you love a historical setting with all modern amenities. We spent a lot of time on the terrace overlooking the mountains – beautiful sunrise to accompany an early breakfast and pinkish skies at cocktail hour! Loved it!
We had a wonderful week in the medieval walled city of Vence. The flat is up two flights of stairs in the old wall of the city and has a beautiful view of the countryside from large windows that light up the living room. The flat is well equipped and there are numerous shops and grocery stores as well as over a dozen restaurants within walking distance. There is a local market of one kind or another almost every day inside the walls or just outside in the square. Wifi works well and a city parking garage is an easy walk for 40 euros for a weekly pass. The first night we were there there was a symphony orchestra playing Beethoven's 7th in the cathedral (100 meters from the flat) for 10 euros a piece. Vence is a great central location for quick drives the Nice, Cannes, St Paul de Vence and a dozen other beautiful villages. Perfect first week of our two month vacation in France.
What a stunning apartment! I went for a mini break with my girlfriend and she was bowled over. The apartment is built into the ancient walls of the old town so the setting couldn't feel more idyllic (or French). The interior provides an amazing contrast to the ancient exterior as it has the feel and comfort of a boutique hotel. To top it off there are breath taking views from the balcony across the foothills of the southern alps. We'll definitely be coming back!
A clean, well maintained apartment in a very desirable area within the old town walls. A well appointed kitchen area should you choose to cook...though you really have no need as within a few minutes walk you'll be spoilt for choice with excellent restaurants and bars. The roof terrace with its views across the hills cannot be bettered for a relaxing beer at the end of a tiring day.
With Nice Airport only around ten miles away, we found it ideal to have no lengthy transfers to deal with.
Can't recommend the apartment and the town of Vence highly enough, we'll definitely be visiting again.
