Great retreat for nature lovers.
I was very pleased. The pictures and description are accurate. I was there in September so it was very quiet which is what I wanted. There were some short woodsy trails nearby which was very nice for walking my dogs. Easy to jump on Rt. 6 and venture out. The sun sets over the cove. The owner was friendly, responsive, and helpful. As far as the other reviews, the smell was likely low tide, not the house. I only smelled it once but the smell of low tide is no bother to me. The house had no smell, not even of must/mold. As for the spiders mentioned, there were a couple of harmless daddy long legs in the sink after a day but I had left dishes for the am so it was my own doing and not a big deal. It's not an air-tight space. It is an old-school charming cottage and has all that an average-size person or couple needs, is nicely decorated, and is adequately stocked (including some beach chairs, local maps, and books). There was wifi, AC, and little heaters that removed any fall chill. No microwave, but no beeping either which was nice, and I adapted back to pre-microwave days with ease. Bring sheets and towels.
Had A great time And was sorry to leave. Communication with Danielle was excellent. She was responsive and easily assessable. We found for the dates we needed that the price was reasonable and we were happy with the value compared to everything else that was out there. Some people might find this type of lodging too rustic-I imagine this is not for everyone. For us city folk it was as close to camping As we are comfortable with. Wish I was there now
We enjoyed our stay. Just a couple of comments:
1. The key left on the table for us was NOT the key to the cottage. Fortunately I checked it before we went out, and eventually found the correct key hanging up near the front window. Otherwise we would have been stuck indeed.
2. We had a rough time finding the place. The listing should indicate that it's on a side road, not rte. 6 as shown. Even the South Wellfleet Post Office couldn't help. Anyway, after we settled in, it was good. You might consider a new mattress. The old one has seen better days.

Dear Henry and Debby
I am sorry you had these difficulties. The Home Away site sends a welcome email which invites guests to download an app to get all instructions about the property and that is where the specific driving directions are located. Guests can call me at anytime if lost or have any other questions. I don’t know what happened with the keys, you were my first guests of the season and I got new keys made. I thought I checked them, I made an error I apologize. If anyone is ever locked out they can call me and I can have my handy man or cleaning lady open the cottage for you. As for the bed, it is only a couple years old and I sleep there and think it’s comfortable but will look into updating next year. Overall I’m glad you had a good experience. Danielle
Just as advertised...
Great place to stay in upscale Wellfleet on the down low. The location is hard to beat - only steps down to the cove where you can take in beautiful sunset views and a walk (when the tide is not high), CCRT right there, short jaunt to the beach, and only minutes from Wellfleet restaurants and the pier.
It is a short drive to beaches, restaurants, and Wellfleet center where there is a lovely marina where boats may be rented. Wellfleet also has a theater, shopping, art galleries, a golf course, and is near Provincetown. A good portion of Wellfleet is National Park.
Other Activities: theater, art galleries,shopping

Why Danielle Rosales chose South Wellfleet
I purchased this property with my now ex husband in 1992 and it became mine in the divorce. At the time it was one cottage community where we used to stay, that was renovated and sold as individual cottages. It is like a home away from home for me although I usually go down in spring and fall and save one summer week for myself. I like the quiet and old fashioned feel of the cottage and the view of the cove.
