Saltbox cottage is located in a wooded area overlooking Drummer Cove, an ocean inlet. It is a one bedroom cottage with a living room kitchen area, a bath and an enclosed dining porch. It has a sunny deck with a grill and chairs. The cottage is decorated rustically with an old-fashioned charm. The cottage is part of a small community set back from the road. It is a very quiet area. It is a short drive to several local beaches.

About Danielle Rosales
I live in Quincy, Massachusetts, and work in Boston.
Danielle Rosales purchased this Cottage in 1992
Why Danielle Rosales chose South Wellfleet
I purchased this property with my now ex husband in 1992 and it became mine in the divorce. At the time it was one cottage community where we used to stay, that was renovated and sold as individual cottages. It is like a home away from home for me although I usually go down in spring and fall and save one summer week for myself. I like the quiet and old fashioned feel of the cottage and the view of the cove.

Great location. Clean, rustic cottage close to the bike trail.
Thank you for sharing your home with us. We really enjoyed our stay. Nice quiet community.
Rustic is fine but this rental is not acceptable
I wish I had been forewarned about the bathroom. It smells so bad, I had to buy air freshener immediately. Didn’t do much. Overpowering and unpleasant. As for the rest, my husband and I could easily have adjusted to a mini-kitchen with no counter space; we could have survived with just a small sofa for sitting comfortably; we even could have survived the porto-potty style shower but...we left before our departure date. Don’t rent unless you have tolerance for bad smells. One other thing if you do decide to rent, this cottage/condo area is on a small road with no name, parallel to Route 6. Call Danielle and get specific directions before you go.
I am sorry you had a bad experience. My cottage is located on a tidal marsh which does emit an aroma at low tide, it doesn’t have anything to do with cleanliness. As for the size of my kitchen and bath, I try to provide descriptions on the web site. Also I keep my prices low for that reason, a larger and more luxurious accommodations will cost accordingly
Very clean. No bugs. Quiet. Many cabins are privately owned and occupied in the little village. close to beach (skip the $95 sticker for the car)...walking/biking distance. Very close to bike trail. Fully equipped/stocked kitchen (not food)...knives, tools, stove, Mr Coffee pot, toaster, etc. No microwave. BBQ grill is handy and clean. We like to replace paper goods as, apparently do others and host. Nicely decorated. Simple.
Close to Orleans for grocery/clothing shopping, Truro for wine tasting, chocolate, spices and interesting stationery; P-town for dining, shopping for fun, walking, people, Ferry to Boston. Many local restaurants in Wellflleet within a few close miles. Highly recommend Van Rensselaers (1Mile)
Cozy and quiet
The cottage is very comfortable for two plus a small dog. We were delighted that the kitchen was well appointed. Maybe could use a strainer for pasta?...if there is one, we didn't find it. (We donated a can opener since the ones that were there didn't work) We cooked and ate in frequently, and pretty much found everything we needed! Stove works well, frig is a nice size.
Bedroom is quiet, and the entire community -- despite its proximity to Route 6 -- is quiet. The bed is comfortable!
Nice to sit on the porch and see the cove. The umbrella makes it easy and comfortable to sit outside in sun at lunch, without baking!
Only one minor disappointment: the whole cabin smelled like cigarette smoke, including the AC (which thankfully we ended up not needing to use). Didn't realize this wasn't a non-smoking property, but oh well! After a few days of cooking our own food, and lighting some scented candles, the cigarette smell dissipated.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable! Would recommend to friends.
Dear Guest, I’m very glad that you enjoyed your stay! I do have a pasta strainer, it’s on top of the fridge. Thank you for the can opener! As far as the smoking, I don’t have a policy about it but I don’t supply ash trays or anything and have never noticed a smell of smoke sorry. Maybe that is something I should consider next year,
I loved it!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The property is as advertised and very well equipped. Would like to have had a microwave and the tv in the living area. Maybe the TV could be on a wall mount bracket that extends out from the wall similar to how a RV uses space.
A wonderful tucked away quiet retreat amongst a beautiful well loved town of Wellfleet.
Cozy comfy home perfect for two with great deck space overlooking the cove. Just what we needed! The house was immaculate! Queen bed was so comfy. Beaches and trails nearby. Thankyou Danielle for sharing!
It is a short drive to beaches, restaurants, and Wellfleet center where there is a lovely marina where boats may be rented. Wellfleet also has a theater, shopping, art galleries, a golf course, and is near Provincetown. A good portion of Wellfleet is National Park.
