Peaceful and fun, hi spec gorgeous apartment with revitalising sea air and stunning views, suitable for all ages, amazing value for money!
Stayed there with my wife for 17 days and we enjoyed every minutes. Perfect for self catering. There is an on-time boat that transfer you from resort to Gulluck .
You can access to the net at restaurant without ordering. We were a bit surprised when arrived it's better than above description.
stayed with my husband for 8 days. the apartment is fantastic with everything you could need for self catering. it was clean, tidy and the balcony was great for relaxing and eating. hot tub was wonderful bonus that added that luxury feel.
the complex was very nice with a lovely bar/pool area that served a fair selection of food including breakfast and a wide variety of drinks.
the complex is very hilly, however golf buggys and cars are on hand to take you where you need to go.
the beach bar was well decked out and served similar drinks/food to the pool bar.
the boat ride to gulluk was relaxing and enjoyable, however did limit you to when you could cross and come back.
the complex is very isolated so is ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday and you do need to go over to gulluck for any shops etc that you might need. there is a very small shop just outside the complex which sells limited foods.
overall we were very impressed with the apartment and complex and had a lovely holiday there.
We stayed at the penthouse apartment for 2 weeks and enjoyed every single day. The property was immaculate, well provisioned and had the best views out to sea. The resort was lovely with great swimming pools, 2 bars(one by the pool and the other on the beach)and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The owners(siobhain and bob) of the property were extremely helpful and could not do enough for us before and during our stay.We will definitely be returning in the future. There is a ferry that takes you from the resort to Gulluk harbour, this takes about half an hour and is a pleasure in itself, there are many restaurants and bars to choose from in Gulluk and it is worth booking a boat trip with Donmez 1 for a great day out
I went with my husband for 5 days in early May not knowing what to expect and unsure about going to a resort, and a newly built one.
It was a relaxing hassle free experience all the way.
The weather was perfect in early May, we swam in the pools and the sea every day.
The apartment was super, big, bright ,spanking new.
We loved the veranda with the hot tub and views of the seas and swallows nesting.
The saunas a minute walk from the apartment was a treat in the evenings.
Staff were hospitable.
The boat trip to Guluk (about 20 minutes) was pleasant and from here we had a fair choice of restaurants and bars and supermarket and bus station, car rental.
Some of the resort was unfinished and there were building works to create tennis courts and a larger childrens' area going on in the distance but suprisingly this didn' t disturb the peacefulness. These were due to finish in 2012/13.
Hoping to go back soon with our two young children.
I spent 5 days with my family (2 adults, 2 children) in this apartment and it was a very relaxing break. The apartment itself was very clean, spacious and luxurious with all the necessary amenities. Sitting in the private jacuzzi on the balcony overlooking the beautiful view added the celebrity factor.
The complex itself was well looked after and the staff were all very pleasant and courteous.it was lovely going down to the pool at anytime and not having to struggle for a sun lounger. It also felt safe.
The 30mins water taxi to Gulluk was beautiful and relaxing and was a treat in itself. We visited Gulluk daily. It has lovely restaurants for all pockets serving local food. We visited the bustling market on Thursday and the supermarket was fully stocked with everything we needed. It was very easy to take a dolmas to Bodrum to experience the hustle and bustle of a tourist town and after a busy day of shopping and sightseeing,it was lovely to return to the peace and tranquility of the apartment.
Gulluk is about 10mins from the airport so after our last meal in our favourite kebab shop we were at the airport in no time.
I will definitely be returning and have recommended it to all my family and friends.
The apartment is pristine and part of the new Horizon Sky Beach Resort.
This resort is built on a headland in the Bay of Gulluk with a truly amazing view of the Aegean Sea. It is in a conservation area and there are very few cars so the air is clean and vitalising.
The apartment can be reached by a rough road or sea. Between the Horizon Sky Beach Resort marina and the fishing village of Guluk there is a complimentary sea taxi/ferry service which runs regularly from early morning to late at night. The crossing takes 40 minutes and is delightful. You can sit up deck in the sun or take shade beneath.
From Bodrum airport a road taxi all the way to the apartment is approximately £50 and 50 minutes. Car hire from Bodrum airport approximately £25 per day.
An alternative is a road taxi from Bodrum airport to Guluk town which is approximately £20 and 20 minutes. From Guluk marina, take the complimentary sea taxi to Horizon Sky Beach Resort.
At the entrance to the resort you will be met by the helpful staff and shown to your apartment and assisted with your luggage.
The new resort cafe bar is expected to be open by July 2015. Alternatively at 6pm by the main pool there is often a friendly gathering of guests who BYO (bring your own) drinks. This is by the table tennis and small children's play area.
The nearest restaurant is the newly opened Marina restaurant where the resort boat arrives. This is a 10 minute walk from the apartment across the resort. Another nearby restaurant is on Jasmine beach. Horizon Sky staff will arrange for the restuarant team to drive you the 10 mins to and from the restaurant.
Otherwise there is a small convenience shop on site owned by the friendly Mr Sinan. He stocks food, bread, alcohol and bottled water. He will deliver this to your apartment if you don't want to do the 5 minute walk to his shop. You can text him on 053 5345 6366.
At the resort there are 5 swimming pools, small shop, sauna (dry and steam) and free wi-fi.
In the resort you can opt for a more peaceful private stay. The apartment and veranda is very well equipped, spacious, aircon, and the jacuzzi on the veranda and the amazing view of the sea mean staying in doors is very appealing even with young children. There is a large TV and DVD player (bring your own DVD compatible with UK DVD, not blue ray. Alternatively you can laze around one of the quieter of the 5 swimming pools or at Jasmine beach. This is 10 mins drive away so Horizon Sky staff will drop you off and collect you by car.
Although there is a small shop within the resort a trip to one of the larger supermarkets in Guluk is recommended if you want to enjoy the self- catering aspect.
When you want to venture in to Guluk, it is a colourful fishing village with some good restaurants (local and international) bars, supermarkets and weekly open market. There are also beaches 10 mins walk along the water front from Guluk. Fuego is considered the cleanest.
