In 1878 the villa Kotschoubey was built as a summer palace for a Ukrainian princess on Baumettes (Villa is now the Musée des Beaux Arts , "Jules Cheret") and in 1950 the classic French Résidence des Baumettes was built in the palace gardens.
Baumettes is the best location in Nice. Baumettes is the only quiet green residential area in Nice close to the prom and city centre. It's well lit and safe, with excellent local shops and facilities, yet has retained its charm, with villas, castles , bijou hotels, and stately buildings.
The generous living room has a sheltered south balcony overlooking gardens with sculptures and citrus, magnolia and mimosa trees. Sunlight pours in from 2 balconies and you can relax on the huge sofa, chairs, TV with Satellite and wi-fi. The dining area is at the far end and has a balcony overlooking date palms. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need from a coffee machine, dishwasher, cooking utilities, pots and pans, spices and oils, a big fridge, dishes and cutlery; so you really can make yourself at home.
The master bedroom has a super king-size bed, a balcony which is bathed in the morning sun for breakfast, and an en-suite bathroom with shower and WC. The second bedroom is spacious, equipped with two single beds, and en-suite shower and WC. There’s a third extra WC.
Best and last, you’ll have to force yourself to leave the apartment once you have sat in the shade on the lounge balcony. It’s secluded and is perfect for dining, enjoy a cool drink and getting into the Holiday spirit!
We always walk along the prom to the harbour, old town/ and city centre, but there's a bus “ Résidence des Baumettes” which stops right outside and goes to the city centre.
