Perfect For Families and Groups Of Friends - There Are Nine Comfortable Beds

This charming family owned farm house apartment offers extremely good value spacious accommodation. There are a total of 10 beds and the apartment covers a massive 135 sq m of spacious chalet style living. The apartment is situated on the first floor and has a large south facing balcony which runs the length of the sitting room as well as having access to a garden.

We hope that the photos give you a better look at the apartment and the surrounding area. This is not a commercially designed enterprise but a 'family' based home that we hope you may enjoy sharing with us.

There are a total of four bedrooms.

Two bedrooms can be made up as doubles or twins.

The other two bedrooms have 3 beds each, which means they can be made up as all singles or 1 double and 1 single bed in each room.

The 11th bed is in the opening plan sitting room/dinning area.

Summer makes Vallons a perfect family holiday destination – ideal for those who have a passion for the outdoors. This is not an ugly purpose built ski resort but an authentic alpine farming village set in glorious alpine meadows with the gentle clanging of the cow bells drifting over the fields. White water rafting, horse riding, high ropes course in the tree tops, tennis, mountain biking, swimming (in the outdoor swimming pool or in a nearby lake), walking and rock climbing are all at your doorstep, as is the picturesque village of Samoens with its famous open air market, medieval fountain and botanical gardens.

Vallons is an all year round mountain resort in the Grand Massif ski area which caters for skiers of all standards with more than 134 different pistes from palest blue to demanding black. Our apartment is just 50 yards from the bus stop to the ski lifts in Samoens and Morillion and an easy drive to Annecy, Chamonix and Megeve. It is the perfect venue for spring, summer, autumn and winter activities as well as exploring the beautiful Valle du Giffre and the national park of Sixt Fer a Cheval. While the main attractions in winter are skiing and boarding also on offer in the area is ice skating, cross country skiing, snow shoe walking and paragliding.

Great value, spacious, cosy apartment in

This lovely, very spacious but cosy apartment in a rural alpine village is just the place to bring children, family and friends for skiing in the winter and numerous other activities at all times of year for all ages. We stayed there recently for another wonderful week in February. Although simple, I doubt if this apartment can be bettered for the price. It is now double glazed throughout, has Wifi with a good speed and a television with English news channels and many programmes in a variety of languages. This time we visited the head of the valley up beyond Sixt Fer de Cheval to try the Ski de Fond facilities and visit the national forest. What spectacular scenery in which to do some cross country skiing - so beautiful.

The bakery in Samoens is as good as ever and after a good night's sleep in very comfortable beds, breakfast with fresh croissants get's one off to a great start to the day's skiing! The Carrefour supermarket just out of Samoens is very well stocked and catered for all our needs. Vive Samoens!

Spacious apartment in a beautiful setting

This is a lovely open plan apartment, which was spotlessly clean when we arrived. There is a big living area in the middle with four bedrooms leading off it, as well as a bathroom, a separate shower room and an extra toilet. We were a family group of seven, and we spent two happy weeks there. The beds were very comfortable, and the large kitchen area allowed two or more of us to cook together. It was great having clean towels provided. Vallons is a pretty place to walk around and It is very well situated for trips to the centre of town, walks in the mountains as well as whitewater rafting which was one of the highlights of our holiday. Jamie and his family are very friendly and they were extremely helpful in waiting for us when we arrived (late) and making our stay very easy and pleasant. We are used to walking in the Austrian mountains but we found the French alps even more stunning. We would strongly recommend coming to stay here.

A Great Family Holiday

Nine of us, adults and children, stayed in this very spacious apartment for a week in February. It could not have been more enjoyable!

Its size guaranteed that we never felt cramped and there was ample storage space for all our clothing and equipment .

It was warm, clean and comfortable with generously sized beds and nice linen. It was well appointed, plain and simple.

The large dining table enabled us all to sit down and eat our meals together with the kitchen area conveniently to the side.

We re-discovered the joys of playing cards and games with our families - wonderful; what fun it was!

Les Pras is about six minutes by car from the main funicular lift to the slopes. For those without a car, there is a regular ski bus from the stop situated about fifty metres from the chalet. (Check the timetable to avoid waits).

We thoroughly recommend this gem of a place just outside Samoens; its breathtaking mountain scenery and with so much to do. Samoens also has one of the best boulangeries in France. Our breakfast croissants and baguettes were “to die for”!

Vallons Appartment, Vallons, Samoens , Savoie

On arriving at the chalet we were delighted to find a car park area directly outside the chalet entrance , which made unloading of our skis and luggage so much easier. Ski 'cave' for all our ski equipment was located just to the right on the ground floor which was also very handy!

A short easy staircase to the first floor and we were in .

On opening the door to the apartment you are met with a warm very spacious wood clad living open plan living space with a great communal area with a large kitchen cooking area / breakfast bar conveniently situated towards the middle of the room! This proved a fabulous social area over the New Year for our family and the 2 other families who stayed with us . 4 bedrooms all good size rooms with 2 very spacious bedrooms easily able to take 4 people in each! Both sets of bedrooms were either end of the living room giving you a real sense of space and privacy if required .The bath room shower area comprises 2 separate toilets , a great power shower room, and a fully fitted bathroom with bath and shower.

In addition the tiled floor area around the bathroom and toilets provides a great area to dry your wet ski boots and store surplus ski equipment outside of the 'cave' on the ground floor below.

In terms of location to the main Samoens Ski area- a simple 4 minute drive to the Samoens cable car which then shuttles you directly to Samoens 1600 within 5 minutes ( depending on the queues of course!!) If you don't have a car then just grab the ski bus which passes through Vallons every 45 minutes in the peaktime morning and afternoon- very easy and avoids a sometimes busy car park at the bottom of the lift!

If you are looking for après ski and restaurants again a 4 minute drive from the apartment and you are in the heart of the very pretty centre of Samoens village where there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

In summary as 3 families with 5 children between us we had a fabulous relaxing ski holiday in a fabulously warm spacious friendly chalet in the charming hamlet of Vallons , Samoens best kept secret !! We will definitely be coming back this summer and again next winter!! Thank you !!

Comfortable house!

We have spent a nice week in February in this comfortable house with 2 families (9 persons). The location between Samoëns and Sixt is nice and quiet. The skibusstop (red line) is less than 100 meters from the house. The bus doesn’t go very often, but runs rather accurate.

The house itself has a big central living room and open kitchen, with all facilities needed (and some basic products you need for cooking, as salt, herbs etc.). There was plenty of space for our company. The 4 bedrooms also don’t have a lack of space, with all great beds. The house has a beautiful and complete bathroom, and separately a toilet and another shower. One minor disadvantage: only 1 sink for brushing teeth (unless you use the one in the kitchen – then there are 2).

The contact with the contact person/owner was very pleasant!

Be aware that the valley isn’t very high (700 m above sealevel); this February the snow starts from 1400 m (so rain in the valley) and skiing to the valley was not possible.

Tout était parfait!!!

Tout d'abord Merci Jamie!!! Tout était parfait!

Situation idéale: L'appartement est situé à 5 min en voiture du centre de SAmoens et du départ des télécabines. Si besoin, un arrêt navette est situé au pied de l'appartement (passage toutes les 30 min env.). Environnement très calme. Parking pour les voitures.

L'intérieur est très joli, sympathique, convivial. La literie est neuve.

Nous étions deux familles avec cinq grandes filles, l'espace ne manque pas. Les chambres sont spacieuses.

Le balcon, situé au sud, est parfait pour peaufiner le bronzage!

De plus, Jamie s'est toujours montré disponible et répond à toutes les questions.

Merci encore Jamie, et peut-être à une prochaine fois!

Ce fut un réel plaisir pour tout le monde!
