An inspirational writers' retreat, in this apartment has been written a best-selling culinary guide (The Flavour Thesaurus, which you’ll find in the kitchen), an award-winning music score (for the hit US TV show House Of Cards, which you’ll find in the DVD/Blu-ray collection) and two acclaimed movie scripts (Let’s Be Evil and Kung Fu Princess), so it certainly seems to attract a string of talented guests, who find the space a convenient and creative oasis of calm amid the bustle of the city.
Facilities include: speedy WiFi broadband, 50' Panasonic plasma 3D HDTV, Blu-Ray/DVD player, iPod sound system, DAB radio, Bosch washer-dryer, Bosch dishwasher, cooker and microwave, large fridge-freezer, overhead shower and bath, books and films galore, children's entertainment, baby cot, high chair, etc.
With regard to your stay, we try to think of everything: feather and down duvets and pillows, because they’re the softest and the nicest (yet man-made available for allergy-sufferers); feather and down mattress toppers, to make comfy beds just … even more comfy; we do not use energy-saving lightbulbs or even LED, just warm tungsten and halogen, because it’s so much warmer and more natural; there is entertainment in the form of books and DVDs/Blu-rays scattered around, that have been thought about (England/London-focussed); ornaments and pictures create an atmosphere, so all these have been considered, to help settle, amuse, enlighten and enhance your stay; no supermarket ‘basic’ or ‘essential’ items are supplied, but just what works best (like Andrex); towels are 100% cotton and plump; bedding is 100% cotton and mostly from John Lewis (you’d be stretched to find a man-made fibre in the apartment); floors are real wood or real wood laminate; there are always rugs; there is always plentiful hot water; heating is always efficient; kitchen equipment is extensive; cutlery and crockery is elegant; and there is nothing that might aesthetically offend.

There inevitably may exist accommodation that is cheaper, yet further afield, but when you add-in taxi/bus/underground charges to and fro, such alternatives can prove a false economy.

We had a great time at Lancaster Court from the moment David greeted us. We have stayed in London a number of times in the past, but always at soulless, cramped and usually noisy hotels. Lancaster Court is opposite in every respect. Very pleasant, well fitted out apartment, spacious, secure and quiet, yet in the heart of everything. It’s hard to believe its so close to Oxford Street. The surrounding streets have much to offer, with good restaurants, cafes, pubs, and supermarkets. We would love to return one day, and will definitely recommend it to our friends. I write to say how much we enjoyed our stay at your lovely apartment. We visit London regularly and stay in apartments, if we are staying for more than two nights. Lancaster Court is the nicest apartment we have stayed in. Many places feel very sterile, but your apartment is so homely with such thoughtful, quirky decor, bright colours, good quality fixtures and fittings, with all rooms being bright light and airy. We were very touched to see fresh flowers in the flat and also to be given milk, kitchen roll and useful basics, like tea and coffee, in the kitchen. The personal touches make a real difference. The flat was a hidden jem, in the heart of London city. It was completely affordable too, especially considering its location and the amenities that were provided. The flat itself was lovely - beautiful rooms and a brilliant kitchen that's well equipped for home cooking. The neighbours were lovely too. David, Jonathan's brother was helpful and showed us everything the flat had to offer and gave us the keys. We had a brilliant time in London and loved Lancaster Court. After long days of being a tourist it was great to have such a cosy, well-equipped place to return to. The area was fantastic - lots of bars and restaurants right on the doorstep and very convenient. All the fittings were good quality - lovely comfortable bed and sofa. The apartment is located in the heart of 'Fitzrovia' (a neighbourhood celebrated for its excellent restaurants), which lies between Marylebone to the West and Bloomsbury to the East. This historically bohemian area was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolfe, George Bernard Shaw, Dylan Thomas and Arthur Rimbaud, and is more latterly known as a media and advertising hub. A 200-yard walk to the South will take you over Oxford Street into Soho and Mayfair. To explore London on foot, you could not be better situated. Here, the whole of the city is on your doorstep.
There is a lovely roof terrace with Heal's outdoor furniture, table, chairs, benches and a sun shade. It's a superb environment in which to relax, unwind, read, sunbathe or to use as a place to allow the children to play. Very few other residents in the block ever use the space.
Our intention is to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible; and memorable, too. There are cheaper apartments around, but none where you will feel more at home, surrounded by top-quality furnishings, every appliance and a thousand personal touches. This is 5-star self-catering accommodation.

We had a wonderful time in this apartment. The beautiful furniture and immaculate decor made this the perfect setting for our stay in London. The location was excellent too, being close to Oxford Street for all of our retail therapy needs, and near to Goodge Street for the delicious cafes and restaurants.
When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. The apartment was well-presented and extremely clean. When we were shown around, clear instructions were given about how to make the most of the facilities. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches: the milk in the fridge, the lovely flowers, the great collection of DVDs and pocket guide to London.
The kitchen was fully-kitted-out and had a great coffee machine. The sumptuous lounge was really relaxing due to the comfortable sofa and quality television.The bedroom was elegant and perfect for a good night's sleep.
We had such an amazing time at the apartment, that it was hard to leave. We can't wait for our next stay!
