Enjoy lovely sunrises from your bedroom and sunsets from your balcony at this waterfront condominium on 500 acres of Wildlife Preserve with many species of birds, 12 miles of hiking and biking paths and access to an exceptional sandy swimming beach recently described as 'one of the top ten beaches in the United States.' A restored lighthouse sits on the promontory of this peninsula on the south west tip of Puerto Rico. 500 yards from an excellent restaurant, Bahia Salinas, with live music on weekends and available bike rentals there. Condo has two large bedrooms, two full baths, 2 inflatable twin-size mattresses, living room and eat-in kitchen; pool on premises; two kayaks for your personal use, HD TV, Bluray DVD, ipod docking station. Minimum rental is six days.
my wife and I first visited the peninsula where the condo is located and decided on the spot to buy a condo in this most beautiful place. We got home, deciding we were crazy, but then received a series of photos of the place by email . Our anxieties melted away. We, our children and grandchildren now all love being there.
Robert White purchased this condo in 2006
we bought our vacation rental because of the beautiful beach, the gorgeous sunsets, and the chance to share it with our (adult) kids and our grandchildren.
This condo is very clean and spacious. It comes fully loaded with games, DVD's, and all the kitchen items you need to make it a home away from home. It was very quiet early on the week and got a little more happening towards the weekend. My family enjoyed the space and having 2 bathrooms was a plus. Our experience was relaxing, safe and not too loud once the weekend came around and other guests arrived. This condo is close to everything for you to enjoy. Robert was wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking to enjoy it's surroundings.A+
We loved staying in this condo - it has such a well-planned and well-supplied kitchen, such spacious light-filled bedrooms with lovely linens (and very comfortable beds), a living room with plenty of seating and books, DVDs, etc. It also has every item a person could need, from spices in the kitchen to various shampoos in the bathrooms and chairs and floats for the beach. And best of all (for two escapees from the cold of an Illinois winter) it has an inviting balcony, facing the ocean and the sunset, full of breezes and afternoon shade. This unit was even better than the description and the other reviews had led us to expect - it definitely exceeded our expectations.
We loved the pool (larger than we'd thought it would be), the pleasant grounds, the convenient parking, the festive family atmosphere on the weekend with music, outdoor cooking, happy children's voices, the fascinating and different landscape of bays and nearby salt flats. We enjoyed swimming at local beaches (especially Combate Beach and La Playuela) where the waves were not too daunting for us retirees from the Midwest. Robert had left a binder with recommendations for restaurants (among other things) and we made use of his suggestions on days when we didn't feel like cooking at the condo. And hiking up to the Cabo Rojo Lighthouse (whose beams we could see from the balcony at night) was a highlight of our stay -- you'll need an extra memory card for your camera to record the incredible views from that headland!
Robert was very easy to work with -- he provided us with a helpful map, excellent directions and informative answers to our questions before we even arrived and quickly answered the one question I had during our stay. I would recommend this property to families, friends traveling together, couples . . . anyone who would like to experience Puerto Rico off the beaten path but with all the amenities. As a former teacher, I give the Waterfront Condo an A+.
This was a terrific place for a family of four. The apartment is spacious, extremely well equipped, and very comfortable. Everything we could possibly have hoped for was provided, and the apartment was exceptionally clean and in great overall condition. We loved the beach at La Playuela, and we also loved walking and taking in the spectacular views around the Cabo Rojo lighthouse. Other great beaches, and lots of very nice restaurants, are within easy driving distance. All of us (including two children of ages 13 and 3) loved the week we stayed at this condo. We would be delighted to return in the future!
Great location. We kayaked and hiked and swam. it's a quiet peaceful location way out on the peninsula. We had great food at Annie's Place in Combate and Mao's seafood restaurant in Joyuda. The condo is lovely and everything is so well decorated and pleasant to be in. We would be happy to return there some time in the future.
The apartment is great. Well stocked. The best part of the apt are the kayaks!!! Kayak rentals are expensive. This was such a money saver. The area is great for nature lovers and photographers. The only time it gets busy is during the weekends when the local beach, La playuela, gets packed. The apt is on the third floor which can be difficult for the elderly. The only complaint is that the previous users of the kayaks, beach chairs, and outdoor grill did not clean them. Everyone should have consideration for others property.
This was my 9th trip to Puerto Rico for winter vacation, and I have stayed all around the island. My favorite area is the Cabo Rojo area and La Playuela. I stayed with 2 girlfriends and we had a magnificent time. It is in a more remote area, which we loved. You do have to drive everywhere, but everything is close. This was one of the best condos I have stayed in. It was obviously used and loved by the owners, it was so well stocked! I have rented condos where you get a "starter set" which is one roll of toilet paper, and a bar of soap. There was dish soap, laundry soap, shampoo, and spices!! The owners left all the important information about the condo and it was stocked with water toys, chairs, and life jackets, and 2 kayaks. The process for checking in and out was easy. We loved being able to see the sunrise from the bedrooms every morning and the sunset from the front deck at night. The breeze was great, we never used a fan or an air conditioner. The furniture and beds were of a better quality than you sometimes get, like real people lived there. It was very quiet, so if you want a lot of action, this may not be the place for you. We loved it. We enjoyed many of the local beaches, and had a great meal at Annie's in Combate, and some drinks at the next door resort, Bahia Salinas. A couple of downsides were that there was a common laundry area that was coin operated, no lounge chairs down by the pool, and the deck was a shared deck with 3 other condos, which was not a problem for us since we were the only ones there. There was no outside eating area. Nevertheless, I would rent this condo again and highly recommend it for others. I give it 5 stars!! Thank you Robert and Mary for sharing your home with us.
