A fantastic holiday, great hosts, perfect location and everything we needed for a fabulous ski trip
We spent 8 nights here with our 3 children (aged 12, 9 and 9) for February half term. It was fantastic! Anitta was a great hostess and the house is lovely. Perfect position with garage parking very nearby but close to Aosta centre making it perfect for making the most of the many restaurants on the doorstop. The house and location was peaceful and comfortable and Anitta was readily available by text to give recommendations and advice. The skiing in Pilais lovely (our third time) and the house is a 5 minute drive from the Funivia giving us the best of both worlds-access to the slopes and convenience of being in town. A great find, thanks Anitta!
Fantastic character house. Fab location for Aosta
Easy walk to town and local bars.
Couldn't recommend more highly.
Thanks Roberto so glad you enjoyed your stay!
Lovely property on 4 floors in central Aosta.
Really enjoyed staying in Aosta and meeting the owner and being directed to our underground parking space was very helpful. The property was very spacious and convenient for Aosta attractions.
Our only disappointment was the extra cleaning charge which was not mentioned right at the beginning.
What a find! The house is even nicer and much bigger than we expected. Bang in the middle of this great town too! Near everything. Spotlessly clean and so relaxing. Absolutely everything you need. Charming hosts. Big, private garage. Lovely and cool! We will be back in the winter! Thanks!
Stayed at this beautiful Italian home for 6 days with friends. Aosta itself is a picturesque ancient roman city, and the house that my friends and I stayed in reflected this. The pictures on this site simply show a partial amount of how beautiful it really is. I would happily go again, and suggest it to anyone who wants a cultured holiday or a lovely getaway in general.
So glad you enjoyed your time here- we look forward to seeing you again soon! Thank you for your review.
Aosta is a beautiful Roman and medieval town and is also known as the 'Rome of the Alps' thanks to the large number of well-preserved Roman sites; the Roman Bridge is immediately adjacent to the property. It is an ideal location for both summer and winter holidays. The ski lift to Pila, the nearest of many stunning ski resorts, is less than 5 minutes drive from the house.
Aosta Valley has something for everyone: in the winter there is a wide variety of ski resorts with pistes for both beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders - many of these resorts also have snow parks for very young children. For sports enthusiasts there is climbing, hiking, mountain biking, rafting, golf, horse riding, etc. For those in need of a little pampering, the property is less than 20 minutes away from the wonderful thermal spa overlooking Mont Blanc in Pre St Didier.
Valle d'Aosta is renowned for its exquisite locally produced cheese, wine and meat. There is a wide selection of gourmet restaurants and many vineyards offer free wine tasting; the local cuisine is excellent.
Details of the many local, traditional festivals that are featured throughout the year can be found on the Aosta tourist information website.
As the regional capital, Aosta has all amenities available, good transport infrastructure and two excellent hospitals.
Valle d'Aosta is an area of outstanding natural beauty and in Ponte Romano you have all this literally on your doorstep. The history of this area means that there is an infinite number of things to do and discover. As a bilingual area- French and Italian- the locals are friendly and communication is not a problem. The climate here makes it particularly attractive for visitors: winters are, as one would expect in the mountains, cold but sunny and mother nature generally ensures that snow arrives for the beginning of the winter ski season in December and the pistes stay open until after Easter; summer skiing is possible in Cervinia on the Matterhorn. Valle d'Aosta is home to the highest mountain in Europe, Mont Blanc, and the panorama in this part of Italy is utterly beautiful. Summers are surprisingly hot here and it is wonderful to watch and partake in evening walks and festivals and open air concerts in the summer months. There is a casino in the nearby town of St Vincent and Aosta Valley is home to a large number of beautiful castles. For more adventurous visitors, hot air ballooning, heliskiing and breathtaking flights over the Valley are easy to arrange. There really is something for everyone here...
