About Elizabeth Stambaugh
Our story: for the last few years we have been moving from place to place, across the country and back. It's been a little crazy. When we found this home we felt that our wandering, for the moment anyway had ceased. We were home! So we named it the Wandering House. Our hope is that while you are staying with us your wandering ceases, even for a few days.
Why Elizabeth Stambaugh chose Great Falls
We love welcoming people in to our home and getting to know you. We love anything outdoors especially hiking, fishing and camping and would love to tell you all about our favorite places. We will leave it up to you if you would like to have conversation (we are both introverted and we understand the need to be alone when you get away).
What makes this House unique
Our home is located 4 blocks from the Charlie Russell museum complex. You can walk downtown and we can give you all our favorite places to eat, get coffee, go antiquing or grab a beer. Bring your bike and bike or run along the Missouri river. The River's Edge trail offers 26 miles of trails. Visit the Lewis and Clark trail interpretive center and Giant Springs State park. Go hiking to Memorial falls or at Sluice Box State park.

Quiet residential neighborhood.
The home, bedroom and bathroom for our use were clean and the bed comfortable. The property was in a nice, quiet neighborhood (I enjoyed walking in the morning) centrally located.
Comfortable and clean
This was a very nice large bedroom and bathroom down the hall (I had the entire floor to myself) in the home of a very nice and welcoming young couple and their two young children. There was a (needed) window air conditioner and an overhead fan in the bedroom. They warned of traffic noise, but it was not an issue. I didn't try their cooking but bet it's good. They provided some good hints for places to eat out or to shop.
Cozy and clean
Great alternative to the more expensive hotels. Felt more like a home than the hotels. Highly recommend and will use it again if I need to go back to Great Falls!
Older house with breakfast as an added expense option
You cannot wear shoes in the house so if you have foot problems, this might be a big issue.
If you are not accustomed to noise from a busy street, this is not your place.
The stairs to the bedroom are steep and narrow.
No tv access.
The strawberry scones are yummy and coffee is available.
We did not find this house up to VRBO standards.
Will not return.
Esther, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you didn't find our home up to your standards. Yes, our home is over 100 years old and we invested to refinish the original wood floors. The shoe policy is very clear in our description. It is our only house rule. We do live on a busy street but the traffic noise calms at night and we have a noise machine in the room if you need to sleep with a little white noise. Thank you for visiting!
Good value and wonderful people. Some traffic noise........light and bright.....it needs some finishing touches......but very comfortable and friendly
