Immediately relax into the heart of Antibes, in accommodation that reflects the essence of the town itself. Charmingly authentic, yet characterful and elegant, 'La Bougainvillea' is a hidden gem situated within the Old Town of Antibes.

The discreet entrance belies the presence of a rare luxury in the old town with a private garden ideal for al fresco dining, reading or just relaxing. Large French doors lead into the living area of this cleverly converted cellar with a well equipped open kitchen. The dining table seat 6 with comfort, the sofa and armchairs are large and comfortable.

The staircase spirals up to the bedrooms and bathroom. The feeling of space is enhanced by high ceilings, supported by original wooden beams. This home is from the turn of the previous century and has been decorated to complement its natural character with a 'simplicity is elegance' philosophy.

Induction oven, equipped kitchen, Cable TV, 50' Plasma TV, Reversible A/C, Dishwasher, Washing Machine and Dryer. All lights in the house are on dimmer switches, heated floor in Bathroom, walk in Italian style shower. Large Bedrooms with high ceilings, exposed beams and solid oak hardwood floors. Stair gate upstairs for kids and highchair, travel cot, toy box, bed safety rail, potty and stepping stool available upon request.

A stone's throw from the Mediterranean, the marina and beaches 'La Bougainvillea ' is in the centre of Old Town of Antibes. Antibes' main bus station is a 2 minute walk away to get to many towns in the French Riviera. There is also an underground parking garage in Port only 10 minutes away from the apartment (for a fee of 61 Euros/week).

Ideally situated between Nice and Cannes, Antibes has the largest private marina in Europe and is home to the most luxurious yachts in the world. The Old Town, which dates back to the fifth century BC, is a labyrinth of charming streets filled with shops, street cafes, restaurants, galleries, museums and churches within the town’s historic ramparts.

With local weekly markets and countless artisans’ workshops situated in and around the town, Antibes offers shoppers a variety of unique goods. Renoir’s home and the Picasso Museum, which contains the artist’s locally inspired works, are testimony to the rich cultural history and beauty of Antibes. The town is also the gateway to the gorgeous Cap d’Antibes, with its stunning panoramic views of secluded sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, characteristic of Antibes and its surroundings.

Why Julia Richard chose Antibes

'La Bougainvillea' is renovated to a very high standards with beautiful bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom, a well equipped kitchen and a private and secluded courtyard for al fresco dining.

Although in the centre of the Old Town, we're on a quiet street unlike many other rental properties, so you don't have all the street noise at night. The house is also very cool on hot Summer's days due to the very effective aircon, the thick walls of the house and the shaded courtyard outside.

What makes this apartment unique

We have a stair gate upstairs and can provide a cot, high chair, toy box, bed safety rails, stepping stool, potty etc upon request.

We'll also be happy to assist you where we can in providing transfer, local information and recommendations.

Super Location

Communication efforts regarding this stay were good, but somewhat confusing at times due the Nice airport construction, holiday schedules with once a week maid service. Locating the manuals for operating the washer/dryer could have been more prominent since international travelers may not know to empty liquid from the dryer container. Likewise the cable/satellite reception did improve long enough for the Royal wedding. We tended the garden and home like it was our own. Leaving trash bags on the street or adding to dumpsters was a cultural difference that would have invoked heavy fines in the U.S. It was unfortunate that a cement wall was being removed and then reinstalled next door during our visit. Otherwise the location relative to the train and bus stations was ideal. Too bad about the transportation strike that limited the number of predictable excursions along the coast. Please consider relocating stuff llike ladders, porta potty and childcare items from the second bedroom. It was difficult for 2 adults to store their clothes/luggage since no bedroom furniture supported storage. We appreciated the hospitality and the opportunity to spend 3 weeks at your property. The shuttle from and to the airport was very helpful.

Amazing apartment for our return visit

It was our second time at this fantastic gem of an apartment tucked away in the old town of Antibes. Thank you for a brilliant time. There’s everything you need and more for a fantastic stay in Antibes. Marion and Cyril, who can collect and drop at the airport, were great arrival hosts and communication was excellent. This apartment is tucked away and quiet but yet in the heart of everything in Antibes. We stayed for two weeks and Beth did an amazing clean, felt like my fairy godmother had visited, in the middle of our stay. Thank you Julia for another amazing time at your gorgeous apartment.

Thanks again Julia for an absolutely wonderful stay in your gorgeous apartment in the heart of Antibes but yet so quiet and tucked away. We had an amazing two weeks - thank you! The surprise cleaning, felt like my fairy godmother had been to visit, when we returned from a day at the beach was AMAZING - thank you. Cyril and Marion were again just brilliant and Cyril picked us up and dropped us off and Marion, who is very responsive was super helpful as well. Thanks again for making our family summer in Antibes another memorable holiday

Delightful cottage in Antibes

This place was fantastic and so central to everything. Very comfortable, clean and all the amenities you could possibly need. Fully equipped kitchen with basic essentials for a perfect stay. Supermarket across the road and plenty of restaurants to choose from. We loved Che Jules and Atelier. Just need to watch your head in the kitchen due to the curved wall... got bumped a few times as I am tall!

Great property in the perfect location

Our second visit to this property, right on the edge of the shops and restaurants of Antibes. A 10-15 minute walk to the beaches, this property is in an ideal location. It is comfy and clean and has all you need for a holiday home.

A little haven in a busy town

From booking to checkout it was all smooth and wonderful. Julia has a beautiful apartment in the Antibes Old Town. So well situated and has everything you need. Marion and Cyril are excellent hosts and so accommodating and even offer a collection/drop off service to airport which is brilliant as well. We love Antibes and this was the perfect find to end our summer stint in Antibes. We look forward to returning.
