Spacious Rural Finca, Close To Town And Pretty Beaches, Free WiFi

This is a unique opportunity to stay in a beautifully restored and modernised traditional stone finca, which is a much loved home and is finished to high standards with original artwork, good quality linens and comfy furnishings throughout.

The finca is the perfect base for a special & relaxing holiday with flexible accommodation, close to all local amenities as well as the stunning beaches, calas and coves of the east coast.

The finca has a full size sunny pool, set amongst the pretty, large and well stocked gardens and fruit orchard of pink grapefruit, lemons, oranges, pomegranate, figs & vines. It is surrounded by terraces with ample teak sunbeds with comfy cushions, umbrellas, gazebo, hammock, seating and tables. The entire finca has modern soft water systems, dbl sun reflective glazing, solar systems, excellent stylish bathrooms and roomy, bright fully fitted bedrooms.

The full height original double oak studded entry doors of the main house lead to a towered hallway with guest facilities, glass ceiling and stairs to the unique double tower bedroom with clawfoot bath and spectacular uninterrupted views along the coast from the full length terrace. This large upper terrace is also set with dining table, seating & pretty plants.

Through the hallway is the spacious lounge area with comfy seating by the large screen Smart Sky TV, music centre and a further dining area with marble based glass top table.

The modern and well equipped American Style kitchen has fitted oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and induction hob with a range of hand painted oak cabinets and marble worktops.

Also downstairs is the spacious family bathroom with twin sinks, large walkin shower and toilet - it is fully tiled, modern and immaculately clean.

Alongside the bathroom is a double bedroom which will be closed with the owners private effects.

A further comfy single bedroom with fitted wardrobes is opposite the downstairs double bedroom.

Leading off from the lounge is a large glass enclosed dining terrace, long refrectory table with seating for 10 and doors which open back to welcome the sea breezes.

Alongside the main house is the newly open plan casita attached via the utility area and designed in a traditional style but ultimately modern inside with Queen size iron bed, modern walk in shower bathroom, its own fully equipped open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area (with double sofa bed if required) and pretty private terrace, driveway and electronic gates, sleeping a further 4.

An additional 2 guests may also be accommodated in the separate large double bedroom accessed via the attached utility area. Alternatively there is the separately charged west wing studio apartment of the house which has a fully independent double bedroom with antique dbl bed, private bathroom, a further kitchen, independent entrance, terrace, comfy setee and satellite Sky TV/DVD & music player. Please enquire if the studio is required.

All individual areas have wifi access, satellite sky TV with the main house & casita having German, Spanish and UK television on a large flatscreen TV. plus flatscreen TVs in tower bedroom & in the west wing - music players & ipod dock are also provided. If needed full inverter tripe AAA airconditioning is available throughout the house if prebooked, at a nightly charge. Low occupancy discounts are available.

Outside and alongside the pretty fish pond is a Mediterranean outside kitchen with original antique pizza oven & BBQ's all set around a marble circular tree table and ample seating. A further new traditional stone BBQ stands next to the casita terraces.

We are relaxed and happy well spread out extended family from New York to Sydney and after many years of arranging family get togethers all over Spain settled on Mallorca and particularly Porto Colom as being the best of it all. We love to welcome people to this special part of Mallorca, which maintains its age old charms and traditions, in a country setting but with some of the best restaurants and bays of the island all within easy reach.

Why John chose Migjorn Region

Porto Colom is such a beautiful area - it is one of the largest natural ports in Mallorca and has maintained its traditional fishing village appearance. Its lighthouse built in 1860, looks down over the natural beauty of this great Mediterranean port and the house has wonderful views all along the coastline. The Felanitx coast has many virgin and beautiful creeks (calas) and offers areas of outstanding beauty. The local blue flag beach at CalaMarçal offers all the services a holidaymaker could require whilst S’Arenal, close to the lighthouse, is smaller and has shallow safe waters and shade. Cala S’Anau is another sheltered cala with turquoise waters, where snorkelling is a must to admire the fish and there is the opportunity to join chill-out, music and small parties during most of the evenings in the summer.

What makes this villa unique

The views are simply amazing. Surrounded by almond blossom in the Spring and enjoying winter temperatures which are so mild the roses bloom through Christmas to the middle of March. The town at Porto Colom is friendly and offers a wonderful selection of restaurants, bars and cafes. Quite simply there is something for everyone in a part of Mallorca that maintains its traditions, values and all round friendliness.

A truly relaxing break - just what we needed. Great hosts and lovely area - couldn't do enough to help us. Everything is in easy reach, the beaches are beautiful and not over crowded and can highly recommend the restaurants in the bay, Sa Llotja was our favourite. Fresh fish is fantastic. Enjoyed the pool, the house, the sunshine and the sangria! We are already booked to come back at the same time next year.

Excellent accommodation, clean, spacious & comfort

Beautiful house, lots of space and nice décor throughout. Very good facilities, large gardens, great pool and favourite BBQ area. All kept very clean and in great condition. Happy to be in country but close enough to town to walk to bay when required. Porto Colom itself is beautiful and has some amazing restaurants and bars, nice shops and all other stores needed. The beaches are very good with clean sand and shallow clean waters - ideal for snorkelling and not too crowded even in July. Would highly recommend to those wanting the space to enjoy a very comfortable holiday with a touch of luxury and not be too cut off from a town and beach.

Porto Colom is a beautiful traditional fishing village with llauts (fishing boats) bringing fresh catches to the quay each day. There is a pretty pedestrian bay frontage with many little bars and cafés overlooking the luxury yachts and beautiful natural harbour. There is no high-rise and many traditional buildings in the old town - but Porto Colom still incorporates all the amenities, blue flag beaches, banks, pretty shops, bars and good quality restaurants that make it such a beautiful, clean and refreshing place to stay. Porto Colom attracts holidaymakers who enjoy relaxed sunbathing and swimming in clean shallow blue waters, cycling, horse riding, golfing, photography or painting - good food and excellent local wines. The nearby tourist town of Cala d'Or (10 mins drive) also offers the more commercial holiday activities, including jet ski, banana boats, para sail, quad biking etc. and numerous tourist outlets, clubs, bars and restaurants for a noisier night out.

Prices are for up to 7 persons in the main finca occupying the tower bedroom and single bedroom (3 persons) + the separately available casita (sleeping 4). If requred, further occupancy up to a maximum of 9 persons is offered in the separate large double bedroom accessed via the outer utility area for guests 8 and 9 who are not young children. The west wing studio sleeping 2 may also be selected - please enquire for this studio!. We do ask for arrivals after 3pm and departure by 10am but will always try to be flexible by prior arrangement.

The finca/casita & studio are completely non-smoking. The gardens are large and well stocked inc Mediterranean plants, fruit trees and cactus. The pool and finca have some steps, edges & ledges which should be noted for children and the more seriously disabled. All water is softened. There is a large selection of satellite TV stations in German, Spanish and English with televisions available in many rooms throughout the villa, including the casita and studio. There are many windows fitted with screens which allow open air flow throughout this high ceilinged cool design house - If required there is also a fully fitted triple A inverter air-conditioning system in the property which is subject to charge and is bookable in advance (please enquire). Towels including pool towels are supplied as is quality linens and cleaning service (housekeeper) at the beginning and end of your stay. Additional midstay, maid and staffed services are available on request.
