A Gem in Chincoteague
The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was very happy with the location.
I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
Blue Pearl Cottage was a delightful, well planned and well appointed home.Excellent location, looking forward to more visits!
Very nice screened in porch, comfortable beds, conveniently located to the beach, the pictures don’t do it justice but lots of ants, no blender or dishwasher or DVD player and junkie furniture falling apart.
Serene Location, Great Home!
We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Pearl Cottage! We have been to Chincoteague before, but the owner of the home has a wonderful handwritten book of suggestions in town for restaurants, shops and sightseeing places.
The house was a perfect size for my husband, myself and our two small children (1 and 5). The quiet location was PERFECT for the afternoons when our youngest daughter napped and the rest of us relaxed in the screened in porch and read our books. There are so many birds to watch in the backyard and there are bird books in the house so you can look up what you are looking at!
The home itself is wonderfully decorated and stocked with kitchen necessities. The home is close to everything and the neighborhood was really quiet. My 5 year old loved pointing out the lighthouse every time we would leave the driveway!
I found both the rental agency and the home owner wonderful to work with.
There is no Wifi, which I thought might bother me, but in fact it was a blessing to truly "unplug" for a week!
We are hoping to return in the fall when maybe the mosquitos aren't so intense! :)
Wonderful relaxing stay in charming cottage, fabulous owner
My wife and I, along with another couple, visited the Blue Pearl over the weekend for a short fall getaway from DC. We had a wonderful time. The cottage is full of charm and the furnishings are lovely, beachy zen meets modernist. It was such a comfortable, clean, and welcoming space. The kitchen was well equipped to cook a birthday fest! There is a gorgeous screened in porch that you can't see in the pictures. The location is fabulous- right by a marsh, close to downtown and just a few minutes drive (or bike ride) from the Wildlife Refuge/Beach. Such a relaxing getaway! Owners were so wonderful and very helpful. Cannot wait to visit again. Thanks so much.
Great Family Getaway
What a super place. Our family of four visited Chincoteague for the very first time this spring while the town and the island were still sleepy and quiet. The Blue Pearl was perfect. Clean, spacious, stylishly furnished in a beachy mid century way... It was comfortable and just what we needed. During warmer months, the decks will be perfect for sunbathing. If you bring bicycles, you will have everything you need to get around. We will definitely stay here next time.
Peaceful island oasis
Beautifully decorated, quiet retreat. in great location. You can see the Asseteague Lighthouse from out front. I actually found mattress to be fine in master bedroom but I did have the TV cable issue ( however owner has removed listing of that being an amenity) The house was very clean and everything worked fine for me. This place is close to everything the area has to offer and you can walk to restaurants and tidal views. You can walk to kayak and canoe rentals and you can bicycle to Asseteague
. If you want a serene natural spot this is it!
It's wonderful that you enjoyed Blue Pearl as much as we do. By the way, the cable TV connection is now working so if you return, you may enjoy that also. Mary
Area: In Town
Chincoteague Island is a perfect vacation destination. We are known for Misty of Chincoteague, Pony Penning, and delicious seafood. Assateague National Seashore and Chincoteague national wildlife refuge are both located on Assateague Island with its pristine Atlantic Coast beach. It’s one of the few spots on the Atlantic Coast which has been preserved in its natural undeveloped state. Surfing, swimming, sunbathing, and fishing are activities enjoyed here in the warm weather months. Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge offers miles of nature trails for biking, hiking, and bird watching. With hundreds of species of wild animals, migratory birds and other wildlife live year round on Assateague Island. But the best known residents are the wild ponies which you may see on the nature trails or driving along beach road. The waterways around both islands offer excellent kayaking and boating.
The historic downtown offers a verity of specialty shops, galleries, restaurants and Robert Reed water Front Park is a popular spot for weddings and special events.
Children of all ages will enjoy our ice parlors, mini-golf courses and other family amusements.
Thanks to NASA Chincoteague is becoming known for the go to destination for viewing rocket launches from Wallops Island. At least 8 missions will leave from the Mid Atlantic Regional Spaceport located at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Virginia it’s all part of a contract between Orbital Sciences and NASA to deliver cargo to the international Space Station.
Come experience Chincoteague and Assateague Islands and see for yourself what a unique and special place that it is.
