Old Coach House
Lovely peaceful location
Clean and tidy
Easy check in everything prepared got the keys and we were in
Good internet which I needed to work
Gave us good information on places to see
We needed a place to rest and recuperate after driving around England and this was perfect
peaceful time away in beautiful surroundings
This was one of the loveliest and most peaceful places we have ever stayed, in magical surroundings overlooking valleys of green. The cottage was immaculately clean with everything one could have wished for. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it. Many thanks to John and Paul for making us so welcome there.
A Quiet Retreat
A delightful stay in a very comfortable coach house set right in the middle of some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain. John and Paul were very welcoming and helpful. I loved their attention to detail with regards the decoration of the Coach House, given the history of their own house, very much built in the Gothic Revival by one of its great protagonists. Helpful walks designed by them made journeying all the easier and led to some spectacular views. The view from the coach house itself balcony surely could not be bettered. Very much a place to get away from it all and find some stillness and peace.
Ian, great to meet you. Thank you for your kind review. Hope all goes well with your busy summer! best wishes John & Paul
The 2 separate properties, The Old Vicarage Coach House and Vicarage Cottage, are perched on a hill with stunning views across delightful walking country, situated half way between Ludlow and Hay on Wye, where the borders of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Powys meet. Nearby Presteigne, a delightful borders town nestling on the River Lugg, boasts the award winning Judge's Lodging Museum. With fine walks from the front door, both properties are close to some of the best preserved and most beautiful stretches of the Offa's Dyke Path National Trail. The cathedral city of Hereford, Croft Castle & Berrington Hall (both National Trust properties), the Wye Valley, Brecon Beacons, the Cambrian Mountains and the spectacular Victorian dams in the Elan Valley are all a scenic drive away. There are restaurants and a wine bar in Presteigne, good pubs locally including The Stagg Inn a 10 minute drive away.
