Skip the traffic to Duck and enjoy our private oasis in the trees on the ocean side of Hwy 12 in Southern Shores. Only 10 minutes from the Wright Memorial Bridge and two lots back from the beach, Willems Beach Club @ Southern Shores is an ideal vacation destination for those looking to relax in a private "treehouse" like setting. Enjoy ocean views, two levels of wrap around decks overlooking the pool, and plenty of space for the entire family to relax. Go for a bike ride or try surfing, kayaking or paddleboarding - lots of beach toys are included. Our home sits at the end of a cul-de-sac and is surrounded by tree canopy to create privacy from nearby homes while still allowing panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean from the deck. The private beach path is right beside our house, making it an easy 3 minute walk to the beach. All 5 bedrooms are spacious and have sliding glass doors opening out to two levels of wrap-around decks. We allow one well behaved dog to join you on vacation.

Major renovations inspired by HGTV were completed in May 2017, a new pool was installed in 2018, a new upper deck was built in 2022, and new siding was completed in 2023. You will love our coastal decor and fully stocked kitchen! Renovations include new flooring throughout, new light fixtures, new paint, new furniture and decor, new gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, quartz counters, and a farm sink. We also added a bathroom to create 3 Master Suites w/King beds. Our home also offers 1 Queen bedroom and a Pyramid Bunk (full over twin) bedroom that share a bath, a game room, an outdoor shower, a charcoal grill, a laundry room, flatscreen tvs with cable and free secured wifi. Our guests can also enjoy the Southern Shores Civic Association amenities including tennis/pickleball courts, a marina with a boat ramp, playground, and Soundfront park and beach.

Conveniently located 5 minutes from both Kitty Hawk and Duck, you can easily get to all of the OBX towns to enjoy the restaurants, shops, and local attractions such as Wright Memorial, Jockey's Ridge, NC Aquarium, The Lost Colony, H2OBX waterpark, movie theater, outlet shops, etc. There is a paved bike path through Southern Shores and Duck so you can walk or ride bikes from the end of our street into Duck for shopping, dinner or to visit the original Duck Donuts store!

Great September week in OBX

Spacious house with a great location; close to beach, yet secluded. Nice access to beach path. Ample living area and kitchen space. Pool and hot tub were both clean and in good condition. Host was kind, communicative, and quick to respond to questions.

Wonderful stay

We enjoyed staying here very much! Our family stayed here for our family vacation, we had my immediate family of 3 and 1 family of 4 and then our parents(grandparents) there was more than enough room for everyone to have their own space. The pool was great and the hot tub was really nice too! It wasn't a far walk to the beach either which was very nice

A Sunny Retreat

We loved everything about this home- it’s proximity to the beach and shopping, the privacy of the backyard and pool, and the house itself- beautifully decorated, spacious kitchen great for preparing family meals, bedrooms with their own private baths, and beautiful decks w/ lovely views to enjoy with the nighttime breeze. Our family loved every minute!

Wonderful stay in Southern Shores!

This was our family's first trip to the Outer Banks all together. We found this house a year ago and couldn't wait to go. Check in was super easy. Kitchen fully stocked. Suggestion-bring some drink ice to get you started and then just fill the trays. We needed a cocktail!! Seating was great-so many places to eat inside and out. So much space for everyone to relax. Hammock was perfect for relaxing. Wifi worked great. Pool was perfect. Trees made it so private. SOOOOOO many pool toys! All the beach toys, bikes, boards, etc you would ever need. The wagon was a huge help. Kids LOVED the game room and they could play without anyone else hearing the noise. Location was perfect. 3 miles south of Duck (covered bike paths great for biking, walking and running) and maybe a mile (not even) north of the 158/12 split off. Such a great location for getting to all parts of the Banks. Miranda was a super host. Very helpful and responsive. We loved it so much, we are going back next year!

We both grew up vacationing in OBX with our families and always loved the area. After vacationing there together several times, we got engaged on the beach in Rodanthe in front of our family and friends. A year later, we purchased Willems Beach Club @ Avon and have rented it on VRBO for three years with many great reviews. We wanted a larger home a little closer to the mainland that could accommodate our large family, so we purchased Willems Beach Club @ Southern Shores in December, 2016. After watching many HGTV shows for inspiration and five months of renovation, we are thrilled with the results and hope our guests enjoy our modern "coastal cool" themed home!

What makes this property unique

We loved the privacy of our home and the great ocean views. We're at the end of a cul-de-sac and the lot next door is owned by the Civic Association and will remain undeveloped. Just 3 lots to the beach, its an easy walk down the private beach path that is shared by just five homes.
