About this property

Bright and Airy Bermuda Cottage

Hideaway Cottage is a recently renovated Bermuda cottage in a garden setting with overland views. It is located at the end of a quiet lane, approximately 100 yards from the Bermuda Railway Trail. It is conveniently located close to Middle Road with access to Bus Stops (5 Minutes walk) and a major Supermarket (10 minutes walk). It is also within easy reach of the Darrell's Wharf ferry stop and Bermuda's newest public beach at Southlands (15-20 minutes walk), several restaurants and a golf course.
The cottage has been renovated to a high standard with all new appliances and virtually all new furnishings and fittings. Bedrooms have plenty of storage and windows are equipped with shutters outside and blackout blinds inside. The twin beds in the second bedroom can be configured as a king if required. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a basement laundry room with a large capacity washer and a large capacity dryer - also ironing facilities.
The cottage has it's own patio with outdoor furniture and gas BBQ grill. There is a separate entrance to the cottage and there is parking space for scooters and charge points for all types of electric cars to provide overnight charging at no additional cost.
There is snorkeling gear available - masks & snorkels, flippers - as well as plenty of beach towels. There are two mountain bikes and helmets available for guest use.

Perfect lodge in centre of island
We stayed here for a week in October and found it to be the most wonderful part of our stay. Everything in this lodge is of the best standard and immaculately clean. The location is ideal, within walking distance of two bus stops, a ferry terminal, supermarket, Marley Beach and the Railway Trail. Elaine is a wonderful host, helping us get to and from the airport and around the island on our first day while we settled in. We won't forget our stay in this accommodation and recommend it wholeheartedly to everyone looking at it.

Amazing week in Bermuda!
We have just returned from a lovely week staying at Hideaway Cottage. Elaine and Richard were brilliant hosts.The cottage has everything you need and is central to the island, particularly good if, like us, you wanted to spend a few days on the beach. Southlands beach is a 15 minute walk away, and very quiet ( we were the only people there!) the other south shore beaches are a short bus journey away. We found the buses very reliable and frequent, and have good air conditioning! We also caught the ferry from Belmont ferry stop into Hamilton which was a lovely way to travel. Divots restaurant is a short walk from the cottage, which has good food and is reasonably priced. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying at this cottage and would love to return again. Thanks to Elaine and Richard for everything they helped with during our stay.

Beautiful, well appointed property with excellent hosts in a central position on the island
Great location. Lovely apartment. Welcoming, friendly hosts. Plenty of room for 4 adults. Well appointed kitchen. BBQ and plenty of outdoor seating area with lovely views. Very helpful provision of bread, milk etc on arrival. Use of a mobile phone with a local sim card was thoughtful. Nothing to fault!! We hope to be back....we will be back :)

We are a married couple (45 years and counting!) with three adult offspring. Living in Bermuda, we enjoy vacationing in places that are cooler - hence our interest in skiing. We enjoy the scale of landscapes and walking in unpopulated, unspoiled places.

What makes this property unique

We live next door to the cottage and are happy to answer questions and provide recommendations. We are in a quiet neighborhood - away from main roads. However, the cottage is close to bus and ferry stops. Maps are provided in the house manual showing the locations and routes to the public transport stops as well as copies of the bus and ferry timetables. We also provide a few bus tickets to get guests into the Hamilton Bus Station where additional tickets or passes can be purchased.
There is snorkeling gear available - masks & snorkels, flippers - as well as plenty of beach towels. There are two mountain bikes and helmets available for guest use. We have a charge point for up to two of the Twizy Electric Cars to provide overnight charging at no additional cost.
