Cozy and well appointed
We enjoyed our stay in Alice Cottage on our recent visit. All amenities were provided and everything in the cottage worked well. There were plenty of towels and bedding. While it's a very small cottage (the bathroom is teeny tiny!) it is cozy and just right for 2 people. The neighbors were lovely and the town of Blockley is delightful. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch at the village cafe and found the locals to be very friendly and warm. We recommend a stay here if you don't need a cottage with a lot of extra space.
Many thanks for your review for Alice Cottage. We are thrilled that you found the cottage just right for your stay and liked its cosiness. We hope that you will return back to the Cotswolds for another visit sometime soon!
This property was just as advertised and nicely located to explore the surrounding area
Thank you for the lovely review, John. We're delighted to hear that you had a great stay at Alice Cottage and found the location to be perfect for exploring the local area. We hope that you will be back to visit again sometime soon!
Great little place to stay. Parking is tight and the kitchen is short on skillets and correct cook.
Loved the location.
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We’re really pleased that you enjoyed staying at this beautifully presented period cottage and found the location of Alice Cottage to be ideal for your getaway to the Cotswolds. The one shared off street parking space (shared with the next door cottage on a first come, first served basis), there is also additional on-street parking readily available nearby should guests prefer this. The kitchen is equipped with the necessary utensils and a frying pan for guests to use. Overall, it’s great to hear that Alice Cottage was a great place to stay and we hope that you will return again one day in future!
We had a number of problems with Alice Cottage, the most difficult was the second bedroom which had a combination boiler in it with a carbon monoxide detector on the side. The boiler sparked up whenever the water cooled, throughout the night and the detector emitted a blue light randomly throughout the dark hours. There was a bedside unit and light but it was impossible to use either, with the bedroom configured as it was. I had to add a small chair and put bedside items on this which made it very difficult to get out of the door. I think this bedroom requires a re-think, either not to be used as a bedroom or remove the boiler, then the bed can be used the other end of the room and the bedside items would fit!
The toilet seat slid off the base when you moved on it.
The carpets were dirty, especially on the stairs and they did smell of dog.
We enjoyed the woodburner and were grateful for the provided logs.
Lovely cottage with beautiful views
Beautiful cottage with extensive views of the countryside. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, cookies and milk and coffee which was lovely given our late arrival. Small and compact but this was fine for 3 adults and two dogs.
Thank you for your lovely review Bonita. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Alice Cottage and we hope that you visit again soon!
Charming and comfortable
Small but definitely comfy, we loved our stay at Alice Cottage! Blockley is a fun village and very quiet. Close to everything we wanted to see, yet off the beaten track enough to feel like we were worlds away from the busy-ness of some of the bigger villages just a few miles away!
Thank you for your lovely review for Alice Cottage, we're pleased to hear that you had a lovely stay. We hope that you visit again soon!
