Lots of activities!

  • 5 of 5

We went up to Big Bear for Easter weekend. It was me, my wife (9 months pregnant) and my 3 year old son. We relaxed in the house and made dinner both nights. The kitchen has all the pots and pans and appliances you'd need. We went down to the lake and rented a pontoon boat for the day and came back to the house. The yard has croquet, badminton, horse shoe toss, and 2 play sets, as well as a nice swing for the adults to sit on when the kid plays. We set up an Easter egg hunt and had a great time. The game room was stocked with legacy video game systems and a pool table! We didn't get into that stuff though. All and all we had a great time, we only wished the weekend was longer.

Great accommodations: Homey, comfortable beds, variety of places to play and relax in the house.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our visit! We had our children and grandchildren and they loved every minute between climbing up and down the bunkbed, shooting pool, playing games at the dining room table, enjoying a nice fire in the fireplace and building a snowman and snow woman. We also had time to just relax in the homey environment.

Clean, cute, and cozy

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed the clean, super cute and cozy cabin. It was roomy for the 7 of us, two families. It had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, and it's the little things like hand soap, lotion, dish washing detergent, nice thick toilet paper, plenty of trash bags, things like that which I especially appreciate. There were also plenty of blankets in the closet. Thank you.

Great hosts!

  • 5 of 5

Wallace & Carol were great hosts. We came during a huge storm and they were out there shoveling the driveway prior to our arrival, and even gave us updates on the weather conditions. They were also quick in answering any questions that i had. This property is really close to the Moonridge parking lot for Bear Mountain if you plan on skiing/snowboarding. The kitchen was well stocked. My only suggestion would to add a few serving bowls/plates, as we did not have anywhere to put our prepared food. Other than that, all was great. Thanks Wallace & Carol!

Owner's Response: We were so glad you were able to get through that storm safely. Thanks for letting me know about the serving dishes. We used to have lots but I think they've gotten broken over time. I'll sure get some more right away. Hope to see you again. Wallace and Carol

Perfect place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cabin perfect for a family getaway. The location is perfect and quiet and it's close to the town and the lake. The cabin itself has just about everything you need. Carolyn & Wallace were easy to get a hold of for questions, and they had nice homey touches for us. The large snow-covered backyard was perfect for a three-team snowball fight. Having three levels in the cabin was also nice for the kids to be downstairs and the adults could be upstairs. Only one warning if you go to Big Bear and there's snow on the ground, do not park on ANY city streets whether there's a sign or not the entire street in the village full of cars all got tickets me included $150.

Location

We are located in Moonridge, between both ski mountains a mile or two from the zoo and golf course.

There have been recent additions of things to do in Big Bear, including two zip lines, para-sailing, and bicycling at snow summit ski hill. They have increased and improved the many bike trails and the ski lift provides a ride to the top with the bikes loaded on special racks on the back of the ski chairs. The chalet at the top is open for lunch and drinks etc. Big Bear, of course, has great fishing with either boat rentals at three marinas or guided tours with fishing professionals. The water skiing in the summer is great as is the para sailing and wake board parks we have here.

The Big Bear Village has been renovated with new wider heated sidewalks, benches, landscaping and fire pits. A beautiful shopping and dining area.

There are several new venues for live music and nightly entertainment in Big Bear along with CATS theater and great places to shop and dine. We have water slides in the summer and in the winter they become fast or slow sledding rides.

Big Bear also has guided horseback riding. Old miner days, Cowboy poetry days, Chili cook offs and hundreds of year around activities to enjoy and make your stay in the mountains a good one.
