Arrive at 8 Black Rock Sands, take in the fresh sea air, the phenomenal views of the Atlantic and instantly realise your choice of holiday home was totally right. A fabulous property in the luxury development of eight superior houses situated yards from the beach at Widemouth Bay, 8 Black Rock Sands provides the perfect setting for a wonderful holiday. The accommodation is exquisite; four bedrooms with four bathrooms, a spacious living area with contemporary styled kitchen, dining and living room area the property is simply superb with amazing attention to detail – the owners have thought of everything.
When we say a minute’s walk to the beach that is genuinely what we mean. The house also has a good sized garden where you can sit and dine or just sit and enjoy the calming influence of the sea. If you want views over the Atlantic, check out the waves to see what the surf is doing and then decide on whether a surf, swim or simply a stroll along the beach is in order then a quick look out from the patio doors in the upstairs living area will tell you all you need to know and what the sea is doing.
The house offers two king sized bedrooms, both en-suite with a further en-suite double bedroom and en-suite twin room. The open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room offers fabulous views over the Atlantic and nearby heathland and Widemouth Bay itself is ideally situated with some good restaurants, a fabulous daily fresh fish counter at the local “corner shop” and is within a five minute drive along the coastal road to Bude.
A fabulous property in an idyllic setting – 8 Black Rock Sands is proving to be an incredibly popular house for families and friends who like to holiday together.
Good sized garden with BBQ and patio furniture, lockable storage for surfboards and other outdoor equipment.
I've just come back from a wonderful week at 8 black rock sands and am keen to return.
We visited as a family to celebrate my husband's grandmother's 90th birthday and we all had a great time. The property was clean, spacious, comfortable and it was a nice touch to arrive to a welcome basket of tea coffee and biscuits (and milk in the fridge) after a long drive. All the kitchen equipment was in great condition and was lovely to all be able to eat together round the large table with great views of the sea. It was really nice to have 4 bathrooms as we were all able to get straight into a hot shower after being in the sea.
The location of property was perfect, right on the beach. This benefitted us greatly as the weather was very up and down while we were away so you were able to run out to the beach as soon as the sun was out and be back inside quickly when the rain hit!
It was really handy having the outdoor shed to store bodyboards/wetsuits etc and also having use of an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand after being on the beach.
There was plenty to do even when the weather wasn't so great and we made use of the playstation and board games.
I highly recommend taking the short walk along the coastal path to widemouth beach where across the road you will find the Trelawney Tea rooms. We visited 3 times over our stay and really enjoyed their lunches and cream teas. We also had a nice meal at the Manor, a short drive (or slightly longer walk) up the road in the opposite direction. It was lovely going down onto the beach in the evening to watch the sunset.
I'd definitely recommend it to friends and relatives and am hoping to return next year.
We stayed for a week during Easter holidays 2015 and had a perfect holiday! The house is immaculate and is in a fantastic location. There were 4 adults and 3 children in the property and it provided plenty of space for everyone, and a lovely garden for the dogs and for sitting outside. There has been a lot of thought put into the requirements of holiday makers staying at the house, and lovely touches such as the welcome pack, books and games were really appreciated.
The furniture and bed linen was a lovely quality and everywhere was very clean.
We always visit Bude at Easter and we will certainly be using Elite West Holidays again, and would love to stay at 8 Black Rock again too!
This house is a well presented, well equipped and comfortable family home.
The House situation close to the beach is ideal. It allows little or no use of a car.
For surfers, children, ironmen, mum and Dad or merely grandparents the location offers a full choice of coast activity and the house compliments them all. A lock-up
for your boards, your bike or Golf Clubs, drying rails for your wet kit, Plastic containers for the essential BBQ, this house has it all. There were lovely touches for example a welcome pack, some charcoal with fuel and matches, great wall and other decorations. Close by there is a beachside Cafe, up the road is a divine Cream Tea teashop, and just a little further takes you to a good honest pub with lovely grub.
My family, eight of us plus the dog have no complaints at all. One caution perhaps --- ,the Mattress in the Main Bedroom will need replacement shortly.
This was our second year at the house and we are in the process of booking yet again.
Finally, Nick Compton could not have been more helpful and attentive. A rare find with Booking Agents.
Cornwall is renowned for its nature and beaches. Staying in this house brought us as close as possible to this. The house is just 50 meters from the Coast path that leads to Bude and 100 meters from the Beach. Stunning views, great walks. Pertect for our kids and the dog who loved it. The house itself is well equipped, even for when you have the usual English rainy day. Finally the great service that is provided by Elite West, who really want to make you have an unforgettable stay, was the icing on the cake.
Wow, what can we say about 8 Black Rock Sands, the pictures on the website don't do this property justice. On arriving the accommodation was spotless, it really did have a plush feel to it, bed linen, towels and toiletries were provided, and the kitchen is very well equipped too. Being positioned with a view of Widemouth Bay is a massive bonus, while sitting in the lounge on the evening you could hear the sea, and it is literally less than a minutes walk to the beach, which was great for us with our dog. I would highly recommend this accommodation, it's the first time I've booked with Elite West, and I've been very impressed, NIck answers any queries you have very promptly, you really do get that personal service, we'll definitely be booking again for next year, cannot wait to return. We ate out at the Bay View Inn, very friendly staff, and excellent food, and you are allowed to take dogs in the bar area, we also ate out at the Urchins in Bude, we had our breakfast there on our last day, very clean, excellent food and again very friendly staff, also to be recommended are the RIck Stein fish and chips in Padstow, that's one not to be missed!!!
There are plenty of places to visit, and plenty of places to eat out, but I have to say that the accommodation made it for us, probably the best we have ever stayed in.
wonderful house with great views, comfortable beds and well equipped would stay again.
Widemouth Bay is one of the top surfing beaches in the UK. Flat sands at low and high tide, perfect for bathing and literally yards from the house. Bude is within a five minute drive along the scenic coast road and boasts a good selection of independently run shops and restaurants. Easy access to all areas of Cornwall and Devon.
