Guestbook comments from the manager

We had an amazing time staying here and couldn't have been happier to have chosen this place. The apartment is very spacious, comfortable, and oozes character and style with beauty wherever your eye comes to rest. There's a gorgeous view from the kitchen window. The hosts were charming and very thorough in welcoming us and took care of anything we needed. There are countless world class tourist attractions within a short walk. Loved it.

The perfect Roman Holiday!

  • 5 of 5

Both modern and historic- this was the perfect home base from which to explore Rome. Though just a short block from the Coliseum, this tucked away neighborhood, on the edge of a park, is a tranquil break from the crowds and bustle of Rome. The apartment is roomy and comfortable. Looking out over a large garden next door- with distant views to many landmarks including the Vatican- large windows give the space wonderful light and wonderful breezes. The homeowners are lovely and welcoming- full of tips and suggestions about the neighborhood and the city. Their favorite local restaurant became ours- where we enjoyed dinner almost every night. More than just a place to sleep- this stylish home is a place that you will enjoy for it's own charms- a comfortable living room filled with incredible art, a huge kitchen to hang out and cook in, comfortable bedrooms and spacious bathrooms. Rome is wonderful, but this apartment made our trip truly magical.

Wonderful, bright and full of love

  • 5 of 5

We could not have found a more gracious, comfortable, and well-located apartment for our stay in the Eternal City. Furnished with a mix of lovely antiques and modern pieces and home to a superb and eclectic collection of art, the apartment was more than we had hoped for.

We entered the apartment and were immediately struck by the elegance of the space and wholly delighted by the vaulted frescoed ceilings. The apartment is flooded with light throughout the day. The windows look out on both peaceful gardens and the monuments of the city. But despite the grandeur of the apartment, it is has a welcoming and intimate vibe and we really felt at home there.

There is an enormous eat-in kitchen with a magnificent view of the Roman sunset, a lovely place to gather for an evening meal or to enjoy an aperitivo before a night out.

The kitchen has all the tools and ample space for cooking in and a full-sized refrigerator for stocking up.

There is also a separate more formal dining area (with a table that is just a work of art!).

The bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds and lovely accent furniture; two bathrooms were key to a comfortable stay.

While the elevator building is on a street that overlooks the Colosseum and is near the metro and buses, it is quite peaceful and quiet. There are bars and restaurants within steps of the apartment and just around the corner is the church of San Pietro in Vincoli, which contains Michelangelo's Moses. All of the sites of ancient Rome can be reached by foot in just a few minutes.

We could easily walk to most neighborhoods in the center but public transportation near the apartment was excellent.

We had a wonderful experience in an exceptional apartment. The level of comfort and beauty in this living space is not overstated.

Great place

  • 4 of 5

The highlight of our stay was without doubt the professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm of Stefania. We felt in good hands. We recommend the apartment without hesitation. Well-equipped, clean and with easy access to Termini and by public transportation to all of the things in Rome you don't want to miss. The terrace was a plus and the perfect place for a late dinner by candlelight.

Gracious Roman home with views

  • 5 of 5

The apartment made our time in Rome very special. Not only is it a beautiful home, but also the high standard of comfort is unusual. The mod-cons are well maintained. The kitchen had all you need, no running to the grocery store for the basic items. We have stayed in many vacation rentals and this was one of the best. We hope to come back.

Owner's Response: We are so glad to read that you would like to return to this special place and that it suited you so well. It is indeed a privilege to live with the art and history of this very Roman, but well modernized apartment , so well suited for today. Living next to the Roman Forum and in lively Monti area is nice, too. We look forward to your return to Rome. Susan, Adriana, and The Commendable Rentals Team

Exceeded all expectations

Review of Rome apartment

The apartment exceeded all expectations. It was full of light, lovely antiques, art – both antique and modern – and personal details that made us feel as if we were in the home of old friends. The apartment was full of books and art work that had been dedicated to the owners, giving it a very special personal feel. The location is superb: right up the hill from the Coliseum and around the corner from San Pietro In Vicolo, the site of Michelangelo’s Moses. A five-minute walk offers gourmet food shopping and the Monti neighborhood of local shops and restaurants. There was a lively, academic atmosphere on our street because the engineering university is a block away, along with two nice bistros on the corner and a good neighborhood restaurant down the block.

Our hosts greeted us on arrival and offered very helpful assistance on the kitchen, internet –which worked very well, telephones, taxis, restaurants, and concerts. They had stocked the refrigerator with clementines for Christmas, as well as milk, coffee, a bottle of wine, and other essentials.

We were there with an adult son. There was a spacious, lovely, antique filled living room/dining room, similarly a sitting room/bedroom, and another large bedroom, in addition to a large kitchen/breakfast room, and gracious entry hall. Two full baths made it very convenient for a two generation family. A self service entrance made the fourth floor location easy. And the views in all directions were very special, including vistas across Rome at sunset and a special private garden next door.

A wonderful week in Rome

  • 5 of 5

This flat is just lovely. The furnishings are all antique and wonderfully arranged. The kitchen is particularly nice, with views of the adjoining garden. We stayed in Rome just over a week and our friend stayed in the apartment as well, arriving a couple days after us. The flat was very comfortable and the second bed in the office area was perfect for our guest.

The nearby neighbourhood of Monti provided some wonderful dining and a bit of local flavour. The owner met us on site to check us in and provided many insider tips for the area. It would be difficult to imagine a nicer place to stay. Attention to details really added to the charm of the place.
