We have recently bought and furnished this unique property 10 seconds walk from the beach and are excited about sharing our love of Menton with our guests. This exceptional, prestigious apartment is located in the magnificent and only 19th century 'Belle Epoque palace' private residence in Menton which is right on the seafront. It is ideal for families but also for couples (10% discount, except at peak times).
The luxurious gated residence 'Le Regina', with its own tropical gardens, boasts two entrances: the front double-gate which opens from the gardens onto the beach promenade; and the rear entrance through the marbled period lobby opening onto the charming, main pedestrian street and pastel colours of the Old Town.
The two-floor apartment is situated in the recently refurbished wing to the main palace residence, formerly a grand hotel. Overlooking the manicured gardens to the residence, the apartment is a tranquil haven and yet next to the beach, shops (including 2 mini-supermarkets: Carrefour Express and Casino), chemists, a great choice of restaurants, the daily covered market, ATM machines, a cinema and other amenities including a beauty salon and hairdressers.
The gardens in the Residence enjoy a variety of tropical palm trees, mimosas and citrus trees which in season are laden with oranges, lemons and grapefruit.
In the apartment, there are sea views stretching to Cap Martin from both the living/dining room and the master bedroom windows.
The air-conditioned living and dining room has exceptionally high ceilings, parquet flooring, original period features such as cornicing and two sets of tall, broad double windows facing onto the gardens and letting in an abundance of natural light.
The newly-fitted Provençal style open kitchen is equipped to a high standard with a farmhouse sink, hand-made wooden and glass cabinets lit from the interior, an American fridge freezer, a large Smeg oven with a five ring induction hob, a Bosch dishwasher, a microwave, a De'Longhi vintage model toaster, coffee machine and kettle and all the requisite crockery, cutlery and utensils.
The air-conditioned master double bedroom is on the ground floor with parquet flooring and large double windows overlooking the residence gardens.
The second double bedroom as well as the twin bedroom, both air-conditioned and with wooden flooring, are on the upper floor.
Duvets and good quality bed linen are provided for all bedrooms. .
There are two newly fitted bath/shower rooms: a bathroom with sink, toilet, bidet and washer/dryer on the ground floor and a shower room with sink, toilet and bidet on the upper floor. Bathroom towels are provided (but not beach towels).
Unlimited free (and fast) WiFi is available. There is a fully WiFi integrated Sony flat screen TV offering numerous French and some English channels and a fixed line telephone for incoming calls.
On arrival at the residence, our representative Nathalie will be there to welcome you, show you around and hand over the keys. She will gladly answer any questions which arise and, on request will arrange for extra cleaning during your stay if required.
A car is not essential. From the apartment, one can easily walk to any part of Menton, and even to Italy (about 30 minutes walk to the Italian border).
However, if you do hire a car, the nearest covered car park, « Parking Hôtel de Ville », is about 3 minutes walk away from the apartment, near the town hall. Should you be interested in a securing a place in this car park, please let us know in advance so that our representative can reserve her car park badge for you (45 euro fee for the week).
Although you cannot park at the residence, on the day of your arrival and on the day of your departure, you can drive into the gardens of the residence and park next to the apartment to load/unload your baggage.
Nice airport is a 35-40 minute drive away from the apartment and, on request, we can organise a reliable taxi transfer to and from the airport (approximately 90 to 110 Euros each way depending on traffic).
There is also the regular Nice Airport Express shuttle service to/from Nice airport and Menton's central bus station.
The apartment is located 10 minutes walk from Menton's train and central bus stations which provide regular, reliable and comfortable (air-conditioned) bus and train services to the surrounding villages, towns and resorts in the mountains (Roquebrune Village, Saint Agnès, Gorbio, Castellar, Sospel and others) and along the coast in one direction: Monaco, Cap d'Ail, Eze, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Nice, Biot, Antibes, Juan-les-Pins, Cannes; and in the other direction to the Italian town of Ventimiglia, famous for its market, and linking to the rest of the Italian Riviera.

A 29 minute train ride from Menton takes you to Villefranche-sur-Mer.
