Our apartment is centrally located in the Hamlet of L'Etale, on the Col de Merdassier, in the La Clusaz ski circuit, part of the Aravis Mountain Range. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains and the view from the balcony superb. The apartment comprises a sitting-room with L-shaped sofa and dining table for 8 persons, and adjoining kitchenette fully equipped (and with stone 'pierrade' and two fondue sets). The balcony is south east facing with a table a chairs for 4. The main bedroom sleeps 2 in a double bed and 1 in a single bed. The bunk room sleeps 3 in a single bed and 2 in bunks. The Mezzanine sleeps 2 in a double bed and has a writing desk and music centre. There is a bathroom with bidet and full-size bath and shower. Separate toilet. There are two sledges for guest use, and two sets of snow shoes. There is a baby cot.

  • The main bedroom is accessed via the bunk room. The mezzanine room has a double bed above the sitting room, and a writing desk with printer and stereo system. It is warm and secluded but is not closed off by a door. The bunk room comprises two bunk beds and a single bed, and is closed off by two doors, one giving access to the main bedroom and the other to the corridor.

We all had a really great holiday

The skiing was good, and we had a great time with family and friends. Lots of snow. The apartment has a new kitchen and floor, too.

Lots of amenities and comfortable

The location of this apartment is great. It is nearly ski-in ski-out as it is right by the slopes and lifts. It is in a tranquil area. The nearby restaurants are all very good, and there are plenty of shops.

The apartment itself is comfortable and has everything that you could want including a bath for easing your aching limbs, and a ski locker, and the kitchen is well-equipped. We liked it a lot and found it good value.

I have to say though that even though there are indeed beds for 8, in our opinion there is nowhere near enough storage, space or capacities for 8 people. Plus there is only 1 small bathroom. We found it ideal for the 2 of us and would imagine that you could just about manage as 2 adults and 2 children, unless you are prepared to be very limited due to it being good value. Be really careful if you have to use the double bedroom on the mezzanine as the wooden staircase is very steep with very shallow steps.

Excellent séjour (3 adultes et 4 enfants)

Très bel appartement, spacieux, bien agencé et très bien équipé (appareils à raclette et à fondue, four, lave-linge...). Le nec plus ultra: wi-fi à disposition, système audio (enceintes murales dans le salon), luge pour les enfants.... Que demander de plus? Sa situation? L'appartement est en face des pistes et surtout à 2 min du lieu de rassemblement des écoles de ski!!!

Sinon Manigod est une toute petite station qui a le mérite de relier la Clusaz en 1/4 d'heure à ski.

Nous reviendrons sans hésiter!

Excellent séjour

Nous étions 7 personnes dont 2 jeunes enfants dans ce très bel appartement, suffisamment grand, lumineux, très bien équipé et parfaitement situé. Il permet d'être très rapidement au départ des pistes (et départs ESF), et est accolé aux quelques commerces.

Le propriétaire est très sympathique et fait tout pour vous rendre le séjour agréable, nous avons beaucoup échangé par email.

La station est idéale pour les familles et débutants, avec un ensoleillement maximal du fait des bas reliefs entourant la station et des orientations multiples des pistes. Nous avons apprécié le nocturne (pistes verte et bleu éclairées et ouvertes jusqu'à 21h).

En résumé, pour nous c'était parfait, nous y reviendrons très probablement.

Our apartment is situated in the centre of the Col de Merdassier ski resort, in the commune of MANIGOD, and is a satellite of the LA CLUSAZ ski resort. The apartment is at 1500 meters altitude, assuring good snow. The resort is primarily a family oriented resort with ski school (6 -70 yrs), ski creche (3-5 yrs olds), tourist office, sports shop, bars, SHERPA supermarket, 3 restaurants, launderette, cash point, bakery and doctor's surgery all within 50 yards of the apartment. You ski to and from the ski locker room! (Ski au Pied).The resort is a truly French resort with a fantastic friendly atmosphere. The Manigod tourist office claim the valley is amongst the most beautiful in the Alps. They are wrong: It is THE most beautiful valley in the Alps! The skiing is good for beginners and intermediates .... but, if you want serious off-piste through gully, trees and rocks, we have lots of that too. There is a nice run into La Clusaz by a 6 mile blue run, too.
