Apartment was nice and clean. Needed a few more dishes to accommodate 6 guest. Beds were not so comfortable. But overall cute place to stay in a more residential area. House keeping and management very accommodating.

Visiting NYC with teenage children, boy and girl, total luxury to have two bathrooms, three bedrooms, washer/dryer and air conditioning. Beds, pillows, towels were comfortable. neighborhood felt safe, and apartment was close to subway. My ONLY warning is that the apartment is up two flights of stairs. Not a problem for us, but could be for some.

Great location, mediocre apartment

  • 3 of 5

Let's begin with the positives. Booking and arrival were very well organized and a pleasant experience. We were met and shown around and had all of our questions answered upon arrival. The location of this apartment is great. Nice, quaint NY neighborhood that seemed safe. There are a huge number of restaurants within a very short walk, in fact there are two directly across the street that were pretty unique. Great night life just outside your door. It is not far from a couple subway stations putting all of Manhattan at your fingertips. The two bathrooms were a real plus when getting started in the morning.

Now for the downside. We were disturbed to notice on our second day that there were no working smoke alarms in the apartment. There was one completely missing with the wires hanging from the ceiling, and the other two were code red. Highly unsafe in a 3rd floor apartment in NYC when you have kids with you, and probably highly illegal. I am sure the property manager will respond and blame us for not calling him to get it rectified, but who wants to deal with apartment maintenance when you are on vacation. Not what I came here for, and you would think smoke alarms in the city would be something they would stay on top of. The living area was really uncomfortable. The combined kitchen, living, dining room were just not all that inviting, and with 4 adults and 2 young kids just not a place you would want to spend any time in. Be careful when moving the dining room table so that you can actually sit at it, and make sure that the glass top does no slide off onto the floor. We did not come to NYC to sit in an apartment, but after a long day in the city it would have been nice to come back to a comfortable area to relax. We found it difficult. The kitchen utensils were virtually non-existent. The only pot or pan we could find in the entire place was a really beat up disgusting looking no-stick fry pan that had stuff burned into it that you could not remove. We were not there to cook gourmet meals, and ate out most of the long weekend, but when it came time to warm up that leftover momofuku chicken, that was a challenge. The ad pointed out the great appliances, and they were nice, but not very useful without pots, pans and cooking utensils.

We had a very enjoyable time in the city but if we were to do it over again I am sure we could find a much nicer place. We will look elsewhere on our next visit.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had some issues with the apartment. There are (and were) 2 working smoke detectors in the apartment, which is enough for an apartment of it's size, but we will enable the 3rd as well. We replaced the current 6 pots that were in the apartment with a brand new 12 piece set and will add more cooking utensils to the 10 utensils that are currently in the kitchen. We checked the glass table and found it to be secure.

Comfortable and cozy apartment with great beds and linens. Thank you for taking care of us.

Property had plenty of room for our family of six and was convenient to so many great little secrets of SOHO. Little Italy, Chinatown, walks to the Staten Island Ferry and Freedom Tower, street fairs, craft fairs ... it was all footsteps away.

Great Space and Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here with 6 adults. Location was close to everything we wanted. Great neighborhood and fun area for my first time in NYC. Two bathrooms were a huge plus, the beds are very comfortable and appliances were nicely appointed. The property manager Andy was extremely nice to work with and very accommodating to our travel issues we had coming in during a winter storm. I would stay here again for sure!
