Convenient, but the house is in a poor condition, issues with security deposit

  • 3 of 5

The apartment was convenient and close to the slopes. The wifi worked well and the living room is rather comfortable. The check in and check out was easy as well.

However, having said that, the couches and the furniture looked rather old and dirty. There was very limited flexibility in check in and check out. At 11 am check out time promptly the cleaners arrive. There is enough room for comfortable bedding for about 8 whereas 4 people have to use a common room with beds. The sauna can seat 4 and the jacuzzi can handle one person.

Also, there was a large charge towards the security deposit that was not very well justified.

Owner's Response: Guest and his friends: allowed the jacuzzi tub to overflow resulting in flooding the floor of the jacuzzi room that led to water damage of the tile ceiling in the bathroom below the jacuzzi room, unhappy when on the day before arrival his request for a check in time of Noon rather than the 5 PM check in time posted on the listing was denied, unhappy when his request on the morning of check out for check out of 3 PM rather than listed check out time of 11 AM was denied, left the house extremely dirty resulting in Owner paying for 7 hours of cleaning rather than the average of 5 hours cleaning upon Tenant departure, and was displeased when $ 115.69 was charged against his security deposit for repair of the ceiling tiles damaged due to his flooding of the jacuzzi floor - even though a copy of the invoice from the contractor who made the repairs was provided to the Tenant. The jacuzzi easily fits 2 people - there are actually 2 seats in the jacuzzi - rather than as the Tenant claims jacuzzi fits 1 person.Furniture is mostly high end leather / cherry wood and less than 6 years old. Owner will not rent to this Tenant again - treated the house as if it was a fraternity house.

Phenomenal Ski House On Back Side of Mountain

  • 5 of 5

Awesome location about a mile from both Bear and Snowshed/Rams Head/Killington Base Lodges. Has 4 rooms and plenty of room for large groups. Sauna + jacuzzi tub. 3 levels. Pictures don't do the house justice

Great stay. Great location

  • 4 of 5

I rented this house for 3 days over NYE. The house was just what we were looking for. The house is spacious and in a great location. And the owner was very helpful, providing recommendations for local restaurants, directions for getting around the area, and even a couple of coupons for discounted ski rentals!

Wonderful Winter Getaway

  • 4 of 5

The home was AMAZING!! It was very large and accommodates a leg group comfortably. Very close to the base lodge and easily accessible to killington ski areas, tubing and night life!!!

There is nothing better than taking advantage of the 2 fireplaces after a long day of skiing or boarding!

The surround sound, Sauna, and jacuzzi tub were an added plus!!

Meanwhile the Kitchen was stocked with more than enough utensils and cooking needs.

Bernie was a great host. He was extremely helpful in giving us information for our stay, but not being too invasive. His home was our home for the few days that we stayed and we all felt TRULLY comfortable!!

Only wish he would have left a local area map for us along with the rental coupons which he did provide... But Bernie seems the type who would not hesitate to do so for a guest if they ask prior to arrival. We will deff be back soon and recommend this home for family's or young adults!!!!

Take advantage of this home you will love it!!!

Very Comfortable House for Large Group

  • 5 of 5

This house is very comfortable for our group of adults and teenagers. The house is clean and well maintained. It is very easy to get to Bear Mountain base from this house.

We have rented two years in a row now and look forward to spending our New Year's at this house.

Bernie is very easy to work with. He responds quickly and is very professional with his lease and returning the deposit quickly. I would recommend this house as a great find.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

I've spent the past several holidays at this house, and find it a comfortable, clean home-away-from home. The description of the sleeping arrangements and photographs were accurate, and accommodated my family and friends. The property was clean upon arrival, the linens and towels adequate and no different from those in other hotels/condos that I've rented. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Bernie was prompt when responding to our inquiries, and the instructions for how to use the appliances and fireplace clear.

The property's location between the Bear Mountain and Snowshed/K1/Ramshead base lodges was convenient and allowed the different skier abilities of our group to come/go with ease.

In the several years my family and I have stayed at this property, we have not encountered any issues as described by the previous reviewer. I would (and have) recommend this property to others looking for a homey home-base for their ski excursions.
