Great apartment of 70 sqm with natural light consisting of 2 large double bedrooms (one with a double bed and the other with 2 single beds nest type, both beds are comfortable), 4 balconies, living room with 1 double sofa bed comfortable, kitchen and 1 bathroom with shower. The apartment is in a typical old building of the Gothic Quarter. Both have been recently renovated. Modern and nicely decorated apartment combines perfectly with the old style of the building. The building is accessed by the Ripoll street but the apartment and the main facade facing the Plaza dels Peixos (the Fish). A curious fact that the building is this apartment, works still the oldest pharmacy in the city. Parking close to the apartment (Avinguda de la Catedral). Note: There is parking closer still, but for the first day is easier to get to the Cathedral Av.. The building where the apartment is located is right next to the Gothic cathedral of Barcelona, ​​just 500 meters from the port and its adjacent beaches. Because of its unique situation is not necessary to use any transport, being 5 minutes walk from the Ramblas and Plaça Catalunya. Most museums and major attractions are within walking distance, however the main bus lines and Metro are located right next to the apartment.

We have a sun terrace on the roof of the building with views of the cathedral of Barcelona

The apartment is completely exterior with four balconies overlooking the street, is a 4th floor with natural light. It has a security safe. In his rehabilitation all the original architectural elements were respected. On the farm there is no elevator.

This is a terrific apartment with an amazing location. This apartment is on the 4th floor, 75 steps up, as a family we joked each time we climbed to ensure that there were in fact 75. The stairs added to the charm of the apartment - we knew what we were getting ourselves into. :) This is great spot to stay in Barcelona, many, many restaurants and shops within easy walking distance.

Great location Gothic city

The apartment and local are terrific. The downside is the steep climb for some people. Once you're there it's hard to motivate to leave; run out for coffee, take a walk or whatever impulse strikes b/c you keep thinking is it worth it for that bloody climb to get back home? I would sadly not rent again for that reason only. Curbed our adventures too much.

Amazing location. Great apartment for pre cruise stay.

Fantastic location on a cute side street. Just a block from cathedral and three blocks from Las Ramblas. Despite location it’s super quiet. Great rooftop terrace. The 76 steps are a chore with luggage, but it was fine. Way cheaper and better than any hotel. Two bedroom apt with one queen bed and a twin with trundle.

One recommendation is there should be a small stand or rack in the shower for setting soap and shampoo on, rather than bending down in floor to get. Taxis are super easy to get as well, just have a street over.

We stayed three days before a cruise. Was very easy to get a taxi to port. Also easy walk to grocery store and lots of Tapas places.

Beautiful apartment in terrific location!

My family of four stayed here at the end of May - the apartment is beautifully renovated, new appliances, nice beds and linens. It could easily have slept 6 people. It is in a perfect location in the Bari Gottic.

Overall Wonderful - Beware of the Details

Our stay was lovely! For the sake of a full review I'll list the greatest positives and negatives we experienced. Conditionally (depending on group size and fitness) I'd recommend this apartment to travelers. Personally, I'd absolutely stay again:

The Positives:

- Location, Location, Location - perfect, its away from the chaos of Downtown, but extremely easy to walk to just about everything including a 2 block walk to metro or easy cab access if you don't want to walk everywhere.

- The staff provided easy directions to get to the apartment from the airport on a cheap bus and were able to meet us at our arrival time to give us the keys. Phone calls were answered immediately.

- A booklet with wifi passwords and some local information was provided.

- The apartment is a nice size and the beds are reasonably comfortable. (note: the bedroom with single beds actually has a trundle bed. If you set up the trundle bed, access to the door is limited)

- The rooftop terrace was fabulous. We had a lovely dinner up there one night in the nice spring air.

The Negatives:

- The bathroom access requires walking through one of the two bedrooms. This was less of a concern for our group because there were just 3 of us, and two were sharing the large bedroom, but larger parties would have to understand that middle of the night bathroom trips require walking through an occupied bedroom

- All doors are sliders with wide gaps at bottoms. This means there is NO mystery in the bathroom. Very little privacy.

- Echoing other reviews there are LOTS of stairs (75 to be exact) to get to the apartment. They are narrow, winding, and slightly slanted at the edges. We're all fairly young and fit, so this was not problematic, but it made bringing our 50 lb luggage up and down a little harrowing (we stayed prior to going on a cruise). There are also light switches for the stairs in the hallways we didn't discover until our second day there which made climb/decent less treacherous at night.

- Letting fresh air in does require opening shuttered glass doors which lets in quite a few insects. Nighttime, when lights are on, requires use of AC system which worked well in the big bedroom and main room. Closing door to the small room made that room very stuffy.

- there's a clothes washing machine (in addition to dishwasher) however there is no detergent. Only dish soap provided

-Half of apartment looks into a quiet parking garage

Only two details to your comments, the bathroom can be accessed through a sliding door from the two bedrooms, it is not necessary to go through one of the two bedrooms to get there. Anyway, we will put latches on each of the doors to gain privacy. perfect location for stay in Barcelona

We had a 4 day stay in Barcelona with our adult son and this location was perfect! Very central to many historical sites, we walked to the beach and to the Sagrada Familia. So many wonderful restaurants within 3 minutes of this location. Beds were very comfortable, loved having the kitchen for our breakfast and evening snacks. Perfect rooftop dining area for breakfast or evening glass of wine! 4 flights of stairs were doable . Wonderful character in the apartment.

The oldest restaurants and bars great tradition mixed with new modern design. Next to fashion shops open their doors and craft shops selling antique furniture and objects.
