A fabulously secluded hillside location, fifteen minutes walk from the medieval village of Bargemon. The high suspended teak deck at the front is perfect for long lunches & dinners.Views of Bargemon & Claviers extend to the distant hills at Roquebrune.The spacious tiled courtyard at the side is shaded by two ancient mulberry trees - a perfect place for a quiet
siesta on a hot afternoon, followed by a BBQ when the sun has gone down.
Fifteen minutes walk from the medieval village of Bargemon. Bargemon is a gastronomic centre with seven delightful restaurants, numerous shops, museums and art galleries and a weekly market. It has a beautiful square with a central fountain shaded by huge plane trees. The perfect place to sip your wine or pastis, relax and watch the world.
The surrounding area is ideal for walking, cycling and horse-riding. Golf courses, the Verdon Gorges and plentiful vineyards are in close proximity and the seaside towns of St. Tropez and Cannes are 45 minutes drive away. Nice airport is 1 hours drive.
This property is ideal for 4 people out of season with open fire and full heating by air source heat pumps in the main house.
Bed 1:Master bed room with queen-sized bed and double sofa bed, two double doors lead onto a large private balcony with stunning views. The views can be enjoyed from the bed ! The en-suite bathroom is tiled in travertine with a walk-in shower and twin basins. Air-conditioning and central heating.

Large pool (13 x 5m) designed for swimming (1.2m minimum depth). Exclusive use for residents. Saline pool (not chlorinated) means water is softer on skin and eyes. Secluded hard wood deck and laws surround with reclining loungers. The pool area also has stunning panoramic views. The pool is fitted with a retractable safety cover.
Numerous olive trees, as well as cherry and fig trees offer shade. Stone terraced lawn areas – not suitable for toddlers.
The house had no name when we bought it. Eagle owls live in the cliffs behind the house calling most evenings and occasionally swoop over the house and garden. Hibou is french for owl!

We fell in love with the views and the location. The house was renovated to be a real home from home where we could all relax and enjoy the warmth and sunshine of southern France. Eagle owls can be heard calling most evenings along the cliffs above the house. These hugh majestic birds have even been seen flying over head in the garden, hence the name Hibou (owl) Heights.
The Balcony in front of the house gives a fantastic open feel... you become at one with the views. We eat all meals on it using one area for breakfast (sunny) and a different one for lunch (Shady) still leaving ample room for sunbathing or snoozing!
Beautiful villa in a fantastic location. We stayed one week in June 2014. Family of 6 plus one grandparent who was able to avail of the single bedroom which gave her some privacy. The pool was a huge hit with our gang of 4 kids aged 9 to 20. Obviously the weather in June was beautiful but not overpowering. Having a car meant we were able to explore the beautiful villages and countryside. You could walk to Bargemon in about 15/20 mins but we tended to drive. With a little searching we found a great place where the teenagers could pony-trek.
The property itself really suited us and Julia was extremely helpful in helping us complete the booking. Overall, a great experience and a great holiday.
I stayed at Hibou Heights with my father, sister and 7 month old baby and we all had a fantastic break. The property is exceptional - perfectly maintained, lovely furnishings, great kitchen and the grounds and swimming pool area are wonderful. The solar heated pool was bracing, but beautifully landscaped and we spent whole days just relaxing beside it. The house is also wonderfully secluded at the top of a steep driveway, so it does feel like your own private little slice of paradise!
One of the best features is the stunning panorama out over woodland and the local villages. We spent the evenings sat out on the balcony, watching the sun set, then enjoying the lights from the villages twinkling at night as we sat eating bread and cheese bought from the nearby village of Bargemon, which is a short drive or within walking distance.
What a lovely village - beautiful cobbled streets, art galleries, good restaurants and shops with all the basics you will need. We also found plenty to do in the local area. The owner provides a handy book detailing recommendations for where to eat, local markets and attractions etc.
I'd love to come back here - the perfect place for good food and wine, rest and relaxation.
Having holidayed in France for a number of years now, this I can say is one of the best property’s we have stayed.
Beautiful quiet position with stunning views for alfresco dining both morning and night.
The property is both well-equipped and comfortable.
Visited local villages and Verdon Canyon; all a must. Returning each day to a cool relaxing swim and drinks on the decking.
Would recommend to our family and friends.
We returned home last night after a wonderful 2 weeks in France.
Although the whole trip was exciting and memorable, for us the highlight was spending a week at Hibou Heights with our 3 adult children and 2 of their partners.
When we first made contact we were advised about the steep drive, I am so pleased that I was not put off. Once we had made it up the drive the reward from Hibou Heights was always worth the effort.

Your home has every amenity one could ask for. My wife loves cooking and all your utensils were put to good use.
We had arrived in Bargemon on Saturday morning and had a good explore around before having a light lunch at L’Estanco where the waiter, Armand, made us feel very welcome straight away.We ate out in La Campana on the Monday and L’Estanco 3 times.
The little supermarket was well stocked and we made daily visits to the patisserie for pain au chocolats and croissants! We enjoyed the market on Thursday morning.
Our only big trip out was to the Gorges du Verdun on Wednesday which was spectacular. We stopped for coffee in Rougon and lunch in Moustierres. We were so pleased to see the famous Griffon vultures!
Four of us also made a trip to Mons which was delightful.
By the Friday night there was a full moon which only added to our sense of awe.
We had 2 close viewings of young sanglier(wild pig), firstly as we walked in to Bargemon and secondly as we heard some rummaging near our cars parked close to the gate at Hibou Heights. They were only a few feet away from the electric fence so it is worth stressing to all your guests the importance of keeping the gates closed.
We would love to return to Hibou Heights. Perhaps with a group of friends
We have returned home to leaden skies but have great memories and photos to sustain us for many months.
Hibou Heights is really THE place to stay if you like a quiet, well equipped house to stay. Because it lies at almost 500 m. the warmth in summer is not too overwhelming. And if so, there is always the airco. The pool is excellent with enough natural shadow. The views are breathtaking. In short: Hibou Heights is a little paradise!
We had SUCH a lovely time in your amazing house.
Jayne got lots of painting done. The kids adored the pool. And I got a major recharge. In fact it was so nice, apart from a couple of trips to the Lac we didn't bother exploring at all.
The medieval hillside village of Bargemon is a gastronomic centre with seven delightful restaurants: my personal favourites are La Campana, where the lamb is cooked on an open fire, La Pescalune, where Virgine cooks a fusion of international flavours and L'Arlequin which does a great value menu du jour. At The Cafe du Commerce one can sit in the open air and watch the world go by. There are a number of shops: a mini-supermarket, butcher, baker, wine shop, pharmacy, DIY/garden, garage. There are also museums and art galleries. The weekly market has good fruit/vegetables, bread and olives. There are many nearby vineyards which encourage tasting and offer a selection of different wines. The surrounding area is ideal for walking, cycling and horse-riding. There are golf courses locally. The spectacular Verdon Gorges are a short drive away and the seaside towns of St. Tropez and Cannes are an hour's drive.
