Kiplings Quay really is a property to die for. It is in a glorious position, enjoying south facing 180 degree river views with it's own low tide beach & river access. You can even feed the swans from your own private quay! You could not wish for more, a lovely house, great views, south facing garden, boat hire, in fact everything that you need for a truly Swallows & Amazons experience in a safe environment. The house provides you with everything for a relaxing break, whatever time of the year you visit. Whether it be sailing, rock pooling, swimming, taking the coastal footpath or the ferry across the river it is all possible within a 5 min walk. Indoors you have Wifi access, a choice of novels & 3 TVs with Sky or Blue Ray, DVD or Video. Alternatively, visit the National Trust Houses, the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan which are all nearby, or walk to the village tearoom for a lovely Cornish Cream Tea or a G&T at the pub whilst watching the boats float by in the sunshine!
The reality of what met us on arrival surpassed our most optimistic expectations.
This really is a fantastic home and sitting and relaxing in the lounge after our arrival with panoramic views out over the Helford river we could see why this house is valued at over a million pounds.
Our holiday was relaxing and we didn’t need to drive anywhere as all we needed was right there in the village- a Pub serving a wide range of meals and open all day – a shop which really was a delicatessen – a tea garden selling crab sandwiches and Sailing club which welcomes visitors, if they have sailing affiliations.
The water, which at high tide literally surrounds the house on 3 sides, tempted us to hire a small boat. This is easily arranged and the local team delivered it and as the house has it’s own slipway this all worked very well.
Our week went all too fast but we will be back next year.
If you are looking for a well-presented holiday home, right on the water with privacy so good, that we didn’t even draw the curtains, then look no further
Kiplings Quay is rated by UK tourist board as a 4**** Star Gold property. This is a house built out into the Helford River on a quay which includes a wide slipway for water access, whether it be for a boat or a swim in the safe water. You have the possibility to hire dingy's, sailing & motor boats nearby & the house has
mooring for these. The Helford Sailing Club provides short term membership for the use of the lovely clubhouse. It is just a short boat trip, at high tide, to Daphne du Maurier's famous 'Frenchmans Creek'. Or if you would rather watch the boats than sail them, you can walk along the fully signed footpath to the creek.
A wonderful area with fabulous sandy & safe beaches for swimming & of course surfing. It has a remarkably beautiful coastline with many quaint old fishing harbours & tiny sheltered coves. The beautiful beaches of Kynance Cove, Gunwalloe, Kennack & Church Cove are less than 25 mins drive. Lovely river beaches are accessible only 15 mins from the house by footpath or boat. Cornwall has an abundance of wild flora & forna which provide colour & interest all year round along the rivers & coasts paths.
Nearest airport Newquay - 60 mins
Nearest rail station Redruth - 45 mins

For Golf enthusiasts - Mullion has a cliff top challenging 18 hole course approx 10 miles. Truro 18 hole inland but good course 27 miles. Other courses are within a similar distance.
If you arrive by train then you can take a taxi from Redruth & Truro stations direct to the house. say 45 mins.
Helston is the nearest main shopping centre - Tesco + Sainsbury - 25 mins but the Helford village shop is well stocked with many deli items & lovely fresh daily bread, and it is only a 2 min walk from the house.
There are many good restaurants locally and an equal number of good pubs all serving food. The inn in Helford is open all day in the season and serves good food with a riverside terrace to watch the folk messing about on the river.
