This is a private holiday home with remote setting close to the village for those wanting to stay in a luxury house, experience the beauty of the Italian countryside, while being able to visit Rome, only 30 minutes drive away. A beautiful Roman property located in Trevignano Romano at lake Bracciano. The spacious villa sleeps up to 16 adults and 4 children in the main house and dependence. Very comfy for groups up to 16 adults and 4 kids or 4-5 families with small children. It is surrounded by breathtaking views over Lago Bracciano and the Italian countryside.
The villa is beautifully decorated with a relaxed modern Italian, Scandinavian and Ethic style. The house has an 2 oversized cosy lounge area with books and fireplace, perfect for entertaining friends and family. The open kitchen are modern and fully equipped. Outside the property benefits from several pergolas, patios and roofed dining areas. Guests have access to a private swimming pool which takes full advantage of the delightful view. The pool is heated by solar panels and always reach day temperature. The villa has 8 big bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and two outdoor showers. A terrace is connected to all the bedrooms. All with a magnificent view over the lake and the hills.
Villa Nova is an extremely special villa offering a fantastic energy, privacy, style, tranquillity and is very child friendly.
Swedish and mother of three. I live in centre of Stockholm and work as a advisor and board worker. My background is in financing and advertising/communication. Entrepreneur and I love to start new companies and adventures.
Stina purchased this chateau / country house in 2001
I think this is one of the most amazing spaces in the world. The property has a unique calm energy with the most amazing views. I always feel very good when here and tend to find my house full of friends and guests. They all say WOW! That is very special.
I find it a very comfortable house with lots of areas to socialize and to rest. I love to spend my days in the beautiful garden. My lunches I take in one of the very nice restaurants.
Our party was 15 people at its maximum and we were not crowded at all. The villa is very spacious and very well equipped; bedrooms are generously sized, plenty of bathrooms and lovely living areas. Kitchens are well equipped with all you could need. Gardens are well maintained, large and with a nice view of the lake. My only slight disappointment was that the pool is quite small and set in the corner of the grounds, well away from the villa itself, but that was only a minor issue. The drive from Rome airport is easy and took less than an hour.
A maid and a chef are also available to arrange breakfast (the maid) and/or to cook dinner; we used them and they were lovely and also cooked us 2 fabulous dinners.
I would thoroughly recommend the villa and might well go there again.
We had a lovely week at Villa Nova in August. The villa is very well maintained and spacious. The views are lovely and the setting is remote yet only 10 mins from the local town which provides a very relaxing getaway. Highly recommended!
A real villa: thoughtful, roomy & stylish. Not a rustic restoration of a dusty dark Italian farmhouse but a bright, livable, welcoming home.
An abundance of rooms and restful outside spaces allowed for a large family group to enjoy a holiday together but with ideal separation and space to relax.
Close to great amenities of the nearby lake-shore towns and restaurants - and of course convenient for Rome's shops and sights. Owner Stina was enormously welcoming and helpful with hints and tips about how to enjoy the house and surrounding area.
A Stina-recommended Chef and helpful housemaid made the holiday even more pleasurable with great family feasts and breakfast services.
Website photo's and descriptions are very accurate - but worth adding that the house has a lived-in feel and so not 'too stylish' or austere. Kids were never out of the pool or off the trampoline!
Restaurant L'aqua dell Donne is especially commendable.
We were 4 families living in the house for 2 weeks, 10 children and 8 adults. 4 families in different shapes and sizes, fit perfectly in this large house, and we had a lovely vacation.
The outside of the house was perfect in every way. Different places to sit down, eat, play, socialize and relax. Kids were playing, running, swimming all day – having a wonderful time. Quiet nights on the terrace, with some good food and wine, made our days complete.
Getting there was also quite easy, and being close to some small villages around the lake made it possible for families to take day trips and experiencing more than the house could offer. Nicely situated on the country side, but close enough to what else you might want or need.
We would definitely go back, and we highly recommend this place to other People.
Love at first sight! This beautiful, stylish home overlooking the lake of Bracciano is lavashing. Owner Stina has managed to create a home for a carefree vacation. We had a wonderful summerbreak with family and friends, celebrating a milestone. Villa Nova and the area offers everything for young and old. We spent many happy hours around the garden, pool or the cosy veranda's. A visit to Rome is only 1/2 hour away. Authentic restaurants, little bars in Trevignano and the lake just down the road. Perfect! Bella Italia at its best.
It was amazing! A perfect mix of comfortable living and nature for me and my big family. We all loved the house and the beautiful big garden with enough space for the children to play and run about. They especially apreciated the little tree house and the soccer goals. I also appreciated all the bathrooms, by the way, no queuing. We also loved Trevignano Romano and that it was so close to Rome.
Welcome to our private holiday home! We are situated 35 km Northwest of Rome in rolling green countryside, with breathtaking views of Lake Bracciano. Here you can come to a complete rest and enjoy the many attractions in the surrounding area. Enjoy a day in Rome, at the beach on the lake or go to the Mediterranean sea. It is also an ideal starting point for trips to Rome, Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria.
The beauty of nature and landscape, the historical and cultural heritage, its archaeological and artistic richness makes the area unique. The lake is a popular location for Romans at weekends with its beauty and plenty of very good restaurants. Mass tourism has not yet discovered Lake Bracciano. It serves as a drinking water reservoir for Rome and the use of motorboats is forbidden. This makes Bracciano one of the cleanest lakes of Italy. Lots of water sports and beaches are available.
Explore this fantastic area on foot, by bike, on horseback or by car. Stop for a picnic along the lake or eat in a trattoria in one of the towns. Try the regional cuisine in one of the many excellent restaurants in the area. Enjoy a espresso or ice-cream in one of the many typical small squares or piers.
Three towns border the lake, Bracciano, Anguillara Sabazia and Trevignano Romano. Bracciano is a small town mainly famous for a well-preserved 15th Century castle (Castello Odescalchi). Anguillara Sabazia is built on a small cape that sticks out into the lake. Three kilometres east of the town lies the small Lake Martignano. Trevignano Romano is on the north side of the lake. It has some pleasant lakeside walks and is the lake’s main sailing centre.
Every half hour there’s a train service from Anguillara to Rome. Direct line to St Peter's and Trastevere, with bus and metro links to all major sites.
There are several beautiful and interesting places nearby that is a must. The Etruscan tombs of Cerveteri 20 minutes away, on the coast, you can enjoy an unforgettable walk through the vast necropolis beneath umbrella pines, visiting the famous burial tombs which represent the interiors of wealthy Etruscan homes. If you want to swim or relax on the beach, the sea is just down the road from Cerveteri.
Well worth a visit is the historical important town Sutri which has an interesting Roman amphitheatre carved out of rock and an Etruscan necropolis. Some others are the tiny medieval stronghold of Calcata high on a tufa outcrop, Bagnoregio, Viterbo a medieval town with many hot springs and Bomarzo with the Monster Park
The Etruscans left unique masterpieces of architecture, painting, carved ivory, pottery, inlay and, notably, gold jewellery. You will find traces on display in the municipal museum in Trevignano.
The area of Lake Bracciano is also full with traces of the Roman civilization. You will find ancient Roman villas, roads and the aqueducts which still carry water from the lake down to Rome. The ancient Romans built thermal baths where soldiers returning from missions abroad would come to bathe in the mud and hot sulphurous springs. See the Roman baths at Vicarello, the natural springs of the Caldara in the Manziana Woods (Macchia Grande di Manziana) and Canale Monterano, preserved in a natural park.
There are modern hot springs spas at Terme di Stigliano in Canale Monterano and Terme dei Papi in Viterbo.
The peaceful and magic Lake Bracciano with it’s surrounding parks is wonderful in every season. Many Romans comes here all year around. Late March to the end of October is the popular time for tourists to visit. Lake Bracciano is a good base for visiting Rome in the hot summer because the weather is cooler than in Rome and on those really hot days you can skip Rome and head to the lake.
