Located in Príncipe Real, a trendy and classy neighbourhood, 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from the city’s historical centre, Chiado and Bairro Alto, this is a magnificent apartment, with a private garden and a swimming pool, for large parties of up to 8 guests.Quintinha Garden has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and an en suite master bedroom.

The property has large communal areas including a dining room and a living room with plenty of space, furnished with comfortable sofas and a large fireplace that will warm you up, followed by an office with an excellent working desk and a great collection of books for you to explore. The fully equipped kitchen includes 2 independent sinks and a large breakfast table.

The central heating system runs throughout the entire apartment and there is no need for air conditioning due to the thick walls, a perk of XVIII century buildings. The kitchen, dining room and all three bedrooms have windows/doors facing the terrace so there’s plenty of sunshine all day long.

If you are an architecture enthusiast you will enjoy the apartment’s dome shaped ceilings a characteristic of the epoch and tile work a typical trait of Portuguese culture.

The terrace has a great table for meals, and the garden, covered in green grass, has several flowerbeds of flowers and climbers, such as jasmine, rosemary and bougainvillea. There is also a big red pepper tree from where you can pick pepper for cooking. The swimming pool, surrounded by reclining chairs and outdoor sofas is large enough to accommodate all 8 guests for a delightful lunch and day at the pool.

Authentic apartment in a living neighborhood

We rent this apt in Baixa Alto neighborhood because we are a small group and would like to have enough space and also a secure parking for our car. We learned that it is very hard to find a place with designated parking in Lisbon. The apartment is located on a quiet street close to the Parliament building in Baixa Alto area, not extremely central but actually quite convenient. The 28 is five minutes away and there are also subway stations close by which we didn't use. Centro is an 25-30 mins walk away, a quite nice way to see part of the city if one doesn't mind walking. There are little parks and stores around as well as restaurants, cafes and little shops. It feels like an authentic living neighborhood. The apartment is within an old mansion with quite some characters and now contains three condos. Located on the first floor with a backyard and swimming pool, it is very spacious for four of us. It is a fully equipped home with all the furniture and kitchen stuffs we need, including a washer. It was too cold to use to pool but the garden was blooming with fragrant flowers so it was very pleasant to sit out. Parking is next door in a secured yard. That is very convenient for us to have a place to park after day trips.

The owner was very gracious and responsive in all regards. We are generally happy with the apartment. We didn't mind the things that come with old adapted building such as the squeaking wood floor and unusual layout of the place. The only thing that bothers us a little is that because it is built on a slope and the apartment is partially in the basement. There wasn't sufficient ventilation as only the back opens to the yard. Whenever it rains and after a day of closed up, it smells rather musty. Perhaps the owner can install some sort of dehumidifier in the future to deal with this issue.

Wonderful place with great hosts!

What a wonderful place to stay with such gracious hosts. The apartment is classically beautiful and very spacious and comfortable. It fit our family of 7 perfectly and they even provided a crib for our baby and an extra cot for our child. The back yard is gorgeous and we ate dinner outside several times and used the pool (although a bit cold in October). The hosts, Jose and his son Lopo, were extremely helpful and friendly. We have stayed at many rentals around the world, and they have been the most accommodating. Lopo picked us up at the train station and dropped us off at the airport at 2 am for a reasonable price. He oriented us to the house when we arrived and did an amazing job. They have put a lot of thought in making the place very livable for visitors. For example, they have laminated maps of the local area showing where supermarkets are. If we ever had a question, we would email them and have a response almost immediately. Overall, a wonderful place to stay and if we are ever back in Lisbon, we will definitely stay again.

Lovely house in Lisbon center

We three couples shared this lovely home for a weeks stay. There is plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen is very well equipped with a new dishwasher and very large refrigerator with separate large freezer. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed sitting outside by the pool in the evenings. Would recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon.

Attractive place but certainly needs maintenance

À large flat in a beautiful old house, in a very pleasant and quiet district of Lisbon. A lot of space for the 6 of us, but the whole place needs maintenance and a deep cleaning (special mention to the bathrooms and kitchen).

We realize it was mid-September, but the dishwasher and cushions in the garden should certainly have been replaced before the summer !

No under covers on the mattresses and pillows....

We were quite disappointed for the first time in many years, even if the owner's son was quite helpful, picking us up at the airport and back, early in the morning.

Perfectly placed for experiencing Lisbon

Clean and well-equipped. Lisbon is a fantastic city and most things were walking distance from this property. Should you want to get a taxi anywhere it was easy to call one down on the street and incredibly cheap. The food in Lisbon is INCREDIBLE, we didn't have a single bad experience. Lisbon has swiftly become one of my favourite cities in the world.

stunning Lisbon

This apartment really is the best place to stay in Lisbon. Beautiful inside with great facilities but the real joy is outside. The garden is simply wonderful. The pool was great to have a dip in when it got too hot. Lovely outside dining area for breakfast and evening drinks. We will be back, hopefully soon as Lisbon is wonderful.
