About Barry & Roberta Finkelstein

We have been coming to the Vineyard for decades and have loved it in every season. We have family on the Island, and as their families and ours expanded we decided we needed our own home.

Barry & Roberta Finkelstein purchased this house in 1998

Why Barry & Roberta Finkelstein chose Martha's Vineyard

We loved the fact that it is on a quiet street with lots of trees. It is close enough to walk into town but far enough to be a true retreat. There is lots of natural light, and the open floor plan upstairs makes it family friendly and great for entertaining.

What makes this house unique

Because we spend so much time here ourselves we keep the home in great condition. It is well maintained, frequently updated, and furnished for comfort. We've done lots of work over the past year or so: fresh paint and new colors inside, new windows and window treatments, mattresses, upgraded bathroom, kitchen, and upstairs floors.

As you can see from our photo we love animals and wanted to make this property pet friendly for our renters as well

A perfect home nestled amongst trees

  • 5 of 5

My family of three and a colleague with a child had the absolute pleasure of staying here while we worked in Chilmark at The Yard. To be able to return to such a well lit and quite home after hours of dancing was heaven. The turkeys that came each morning while we drank cafe on the balcony added to the charm of such a wonderful home on such a unique island. The dirt paths to Tashmoo beach made us feel like true locals. Blue Hollow is also so close to the center of town that we could walk and ended up renting bikes to better blend in. I say if you want to relax and feel truly a part of Martha's Vineyard in a place where you are respected and away from the noise and bustle, this is the place. Thank you Barry and Roberta and I truly think you will be hearing from us again, this time for proper holidays!

Warm and Welcoming

  • 5 of 5

What a relaxing week! We went to MV to visit my daughter's family and this was the perfect home for us. Besides being close to her house we were a three or four minute drive to the town and ferry dock, or a short walk to Lake Tashmoo for gunkholing. The house was bright and spacious with a large living area for social gathering or just relaxing on the couch. We felt very much at home.

Although we never met Barry and Roberta we chatted by email several times and would love to meet them sometime. The caretaker did come over to get the cable tv back online and we had a warm visit covering local history and life as a year-round resident.

Overall we had a very nice stay at Blue Hollow and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Loved this Cozy, Comfortable House Great Location

  • 5 of 5

This house was fantastic.. Upside down house so the bedrooms/bathrooms were downstairs and the living area upstairs. Tons of windows and skylights so it was always bright despite the gloomy weather! The kitchen was wonderful....everything you could possibly need was there from a giant lobster pot to coffee maker with filters! The house is situated on a nice, quiet wooded street close to the ferry and the downtown area of Tisbury where there are some nice shops and restaurants.

I went to visit a college friend who lives about a 3 minute car ride from Blue Hollow. She has a lovely home where we were invited to stay however, I wanted to bring my dogs and her house is not pet friendly. Blue Hollow was perfect for the dogs and they enjoyed the visit as well! It was nice to have a friend there who is native to the Island - she was able to take us to many points of interest and was familiar with good shopping and restaurants that we wouldn’t have known about had she not been with us.

I would highly recommend staying at Blue Hollow……I would love to stay again over the summer but it looks like it is pretty much booked up through October 2016!!

Loved the Peaceful Quietness of Blue Hollow

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Martha's Vineyard. What made our visit especially relaxing and special was being able to stay in your beautiful home - Blue Hollow! We loved the peaceful quietness that your home afforded us - after a long day in the hustle and bustle of Edgartown or Oak Bluffs. Everything was nice and clean, and I especially love love love the upstairs kitchen and family area! Your caretaker, even though we never met him, was very friendly and responsive to our needs. I have already recommended your home to some of our friends who enquired. Already we are making plans to come back to MV and Blue Hollow would be our choice of a home away from home. Thanks again for helping to make our 25th wedding anniversary a very memorable one!

Perfect island get-away location

  • 5 of 5

I spent a week in Blue Hollow with my husband, our 2 adult children, their significant others, and my daughter's dog and we all had a wonderful stay. After a great day exploring the island, the house provided plenty of room for all 6 of us to come together over a meal in the dining area or to retreat alone for a little quiet time. It is situated in a perfect location as well. A 20 minute walk to Vineyard Haven center, but located on a quiet, peaceful, wooded lot.

We would definitely return for a stay in the future. Thank you Barry and Roberta for sharing your island get-away!

Great house in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

Came with my 2 sisters and their husbands. We had a great time. The house was clean, comfortable and, with the exception of needing a few extra items in the kitchen about which emailed the owner separately, well furnished. The neighborhood was quiet, the owners were very responsive to emails with questions. Would definitely recommend this rental.
