When we came to look to buy our own property in Portugal we knew it had to be right for us, space and light are important, as are the surrounding countryside and views. Villa Quina ticked all of our requirements and we would love to give others the unique opportunity to share what is first and foremost our own home in Portugal.

What makes this villa unique

Villa Quina became 'ours' within just a few minutes of seeing it for the first time. The beautiful open space and pool outside together with the high quality finish inside and spacious interior which allows a number of people to come together but have their own space at the same time.

Just back from a fantastic stay with me sister and parents. There was 6 adults, a teenager, 2 children and a toddler although we were a big group we had plenty of space for all of us.

The villa is well spread out with lots of space all of which spotless and extremely well equipped. It is well looked after by the housekeeper who comes discretely does her bit and is gone without disturbing anyone.

The ad recommends a car which it is needed as the villa is away from all the husle and busle of the tourist spots which adds to the charm and views. However nothing is more then a 10-20 min drive away.

The communication from the time of booking even down to a courtesy e-mail on our second day was brilliant. always got a rapid response to any of the e-mails I sent about different inquiries.

No one person had a complaint about the villa apart from 1!!! We had to leave!!!!

Would highly recommend this villa is anyone is thinking of booking

A Great Villa

A fantastic big villa located practically around orange groves and not too far -max 10 mins from main facilities. Big garden, swimming pool and a wonderful area for BBQ. The villas has ample space inside for a big family and well equipped. The directions to get to this secluded high up villa is perfect. Had a wonderful stay.

Excellent holiday at Villa Quina

This was an excellent holiday. The accommodation was of a very high standard. It combined a genuine feeling of a family holiday home which has hosted many happy holidays with a very high standard of professionalism. We will be certainly be recommending Villa Quina to friends and family.

Lovely home in a beautiful setting

The service from initial booking to leaving the property was second to none. Any questions were answered, Alex even purchased additional equipment when I asked if a particular item was in the kitchen. Accessing the villa was effortless, the property a joy to stay in and very relaxing. It really is as good as the pictures suggest. Villa Quinna is a credit to its owners (and the lovely housekeeper Inacia) and I would highly recommend a stay here.

Absolutely perfect.

When renting a villa there are 3 things that make it perfect, or not so perfect in my opinion .

Firstly, the villa itself. This is a large, perfectly clean villa. It has all the modern appliances you could need, air conditioning in each bedroom, comfy beds, quiet all day and night, wifi, private (large and deep) pool/sun lounger area, amazing views and tastefully decorated (we noticed the pottery was from a local pottery in Porches).

Secondly, location. The villa is ideally located, so long as you have a car. Excellent, great value and quality restaurants, supermarkets, interesting towns, villages and attractions, the coast and shopping centres are all a short drive away. Yet it is peaceful, tranquil and you feel much further away from busier areas than you actually are.

Third and finally the people that own, manage and maintain the property. From the moment we booked Alex (owner) would respond quickly to any emails and gave us tips and recommendations. Richard (maintenance/manager) answered his phone immediately when we initially had trouble unlocking the gates to the drive. The cleaner/maid visits twice a week and is the sweetest, most hard working person you're likely to meet. The pool guy, who also does the gardening comes at least 3 times a week.

We also had a courtesy email from Alex within the first few days to check everything was perfect. Richard also came to check everything was ok. This is a team that truly cares about their guests.

The best recommendation I can give is the fact that half way through our stay we re-booked for next year.

If I had to come up with anything negative, I would say that the TV room gets quite warm in an evening as there is a fan, but no air conditioning in that room. There's also not a great selection of English channels, but there's a good selection of dvds.

I would certainly recommend this villa!

A superb villa which is exactly as described on this site,clean and very tidy. Pool was lovely and the surrounding grass and gardens were beautiful. Enjoyed are stay and will certainly visit again but a car is a must as very rural

Wow! What a fantastic property. Everything you could need and more in this superbly equipped and spotless accommodation. The only fault I could find was my own, and that is that I only booked for one week. Next time I will not make the same mistake. See you soon!

Villa Quina is in Caravela near the market town of Algoz. This is a pretty rural area but only 15 minutes from the historic capital of the Algarve: Silves. There is a large supermarket with long opening hours 15 minutes away and less than half-an-hour is Algarve Shopping with its designer shops, giant supermarket, cinema complex and large restaurant area. The coast is 12 km away with several beautiful beaches nearby. The motorway A22 is just ten minutes away and from there is is less than half an hour to Lagos and within the hour you can be a some of the stunning and wild west coast beaches.

Golf: Oceânico Faldo Course

The course first hole is a testing uphill, Par-4, offering a number of 'risk and reward' opportunities. The downhill, Par-5, hole 4, encounters a meandering watercourse, which comes into play on three of the front 9 holes and two of the inward play. The inward 9 holes include several which will become the talking point of the '19th hole cognoscenti'. Mastering the massive Par-5 hole 13th which has a descending fairway, which when the wind is behind the player, will demand consistent shot making all the way to the hole. holes 14 and 15 continue to challenge the golfer, sometimes playing amongst rocky outcrops. After leaving the high ground to the west, the 18th brings the game to a close with a magnificent Par-5
