This spacious apartment occupies the entire second floor of a 1930s triplex. It measures approximately 1,500 square feet and includes a large living and dining area, spacious kitchen, sunroom, master bedroom with adjoining sitting area, second bedroom, third bedroom/study, two full bathrooms with tubs/showers and access to a large elevated deck in the back. All main rooms have wood floors. There are two covered parking spaces and access to the apartment from the front and the back yards. The apartment is very close to downtown, the baseball and soccer stadiums, and is just blocks away from University of Houston's main campus and the new green line of the light rail system. The neighborhood, known as "EaDo" (east of downtown) is a hotbed for new bars, restaurants and fun spaces and is changing at a rapid pace. This is the perfect place for young people, university employees or students, convention-goers or sports enthusiasts or anyone else who appreciates old, established neighborhoods in transition with flavor and history in the inner city.

The apartment is located in Eado (East of Downtown). The neighborhood offers a variety of ethnic grocery stores, restaurants, bars, and art galleries. EaDo is one of the 10 most accessible Houston neighborhoods. Nightlife and sporting events draw crowds to the district. The BBVA Compass Stadium, home of the Houston Dynamo and the Texas Southern University football team was completed in 2012 and has been the anchor for EaDo Houston development. Warehouse Live on 813 St. Emanuel Street is a 1920’s warehouse that’s been converted to a live entertainment venue. It was named “Best Musical Venue” in 2008 by Citysearch and has hosted many popular music acts. Among the many unique shops in EaDo is Aerosol Warfare, an art gallery and urban wear boutique. Another unique concept that fits well with EaDo’s growing creative culture is Houston Makerspace. Through crowdfunding, the facility is a space where creatives can gather to learn and to fabricate their ideas into highly-valued works. Their facilities include a wood shop, metal shop, rapid prototyping lab, screen printing studio, jewelry studio, and textiles lab, among others. The Houston Food Park sits on a parking lot at 1504 Saint Emanuel St., beside the vacant Meridian Sports Bar. This food truck park opens from lunch daily and celebrates Houston’s vibrant food scene. East Downtown Houston restaurants have some of the best Asian, Mexican, Cajun, and Texan food. Though it’s not just humans that are fans of EaDo’s food scene. The Green Bone is a doggie espresso bar on 2104 Leeland and offers healthy snacks and drinks for both pets and their owners.

Anton and I are crushed to see your review of the apartment. We are so sorry that you were not comfortable as we thought you were during Anton's many exchanges with you. Had we known, we would have happily allowed you to make other accommodations. In the apartment description, we make clear that there is a nearby train and that the neighborhood has not been designated as a horn-free zone (not unlike many other neighborhoods in Houston, unfortunately) so that our guests will take this into consideration when making their plans. We are sorry you must have overlooked this when booking.

Property is being renovated. But rooms/bathrooms good condition
The property it close to downtown and easy highway access. The area is undergoing a change so a lot of properties are being renovated.#inthehood. The rooms and bathroom nice! Entertainment are Ok. Only two widows worked, but the view is wonderful. The kitchen had all you probably needed except the oven didn't work#no cornbreaddressing. There was an additional room with a futon. And the mattress on the beds are wonderful!!!!! Free wifi and cable. The owners are nice.
Once all the renovations are completed this would be a wonderful place to stay

The oven is fixed. The technician came and replaced the igniter for the oven (burners were in order). I am so sorry we did not know sooner because dressing is a very important ingredient!

A Hidden Gem!!
If you don’t mind the “in-transition “ neighborhood, this place rocks!! Highly recommend for the artistic and adventurous. The apt is absolutely wonderful in its eclectic decor. Very spacious and homey. Loved staying here and will be back! Deborah is a kind and extremely helpful host . There was even homemade banana bread waiting for me. Just minutes away from everything Downtown! Thanks guys, for an amazing experience. 😀

There is a nearby railroad track/crossing so you can hear the train horns. The city has yet to designate the area as a no-horn district as has been done in some other areas despite the community's efforts.
