Little Glebe was newly converted in 2012 to a very high specification, and has been designed to provide superb cosy country accommodation for either four adults or a family. Solid oak has been used throughout to give a luxurious feel alongside high quality furnishings and fittings. There is central heating throughout. The property has its own courtyard garden which ensures complete privacy from the main house. There is a barbecue, table and chairs.
On the ground floor a spacious hallway and boot room gives plenty of room for outdoor clothes and muddy boots. The boot room also houses a washing machine.
There are two double bedrooms downstairs, each with an en-suite bathroom. Bedroom One has a shower and Bedroom Two has a bath with shower over. We thought a bath would be welcome after long coastal and country walks or if you have small children.
Bedroom One has two singles that can be converted into a king size – just tell us which you prefer before your stay. Bedroom two has a double bed.
Both rooms have private garden views.
On the first floor you will find a large open plan room with character beams and French windows that open onto endless country views across the fields. There is a well equipped modern galley kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge, cooker and microwave, as well as a dining area. The far end provides a cosy living area with a gorgeous warming log burner and a large TV, DVD player and music centre. Bring your own music, films and books or feel free to choose from the library we provide.
Little Glebe is fully centrally heated. Cotton bed linen and large fluffy towels are provided.
We are Peter and Sue Hyde. Sue runs a Bed and Breakfast business in Glebe House and also looks after guests in Little Glebe. Peter's family are local farmers who have lived and worked in this area for seven generations. Our son Will has recently joined the farm, managing the sheep dairy unit.

Our lovely home in Winfrith Newburgh sits above the village in airy, secluded beech woods. We built Little Glebe to be a holiday home that could share this superb location, but also retain it's own sense of peace and privacy. Then we furnished it with soft coastal colours and natural oak throughout to make the inside feel really special!
Little Glebe is an 'upside down' house, with two cosy en suite bedroom downstairs. This enables visitors to enjoy sweeping views across the surrounding countryside from the upstairs French windows.
Our sheep, hens and dogs complete the delightful rural environment, and deer, foxes and badgers are regular, but shy nightime visitors.
Wondelful, quiet, perfect location, near Luwoth Cove an Durdle door.
Little Glebe suited our needs adequately for a shared holiday for 4 people close to the coast and it's lovely surroundings. Also the proximity to good local pubs within walking distance of the cottage. Our hosts Sue and Peter Hyde made us most welcome and provided a very nice welcome pack of goodies. Would definitely recommend to others. Excellent value for money.
Beautiful cottage with luxurious décor and fittings. 2 en-suite bedrooms were fantastic, fantastic views from upstairs living area. Lovely comfortable beds and all the little extras that make this cottage very special.

Little Glebe is a lovely cottage with views of the surrounding countryside. The cottage is well-equipped and has everything needed for an enjoyable holiday. Sue and Peter, the owners were very friendly and willing to offer information about the local area. The cottage is a short drive from Lulworth Cove (worth a visit, but gets busy during peak times). Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth are also worth visiting. During our stay we didn't visit any local restaurants but had coffee at National Trust properties, Lulworth Cove, Boscombe and Weymouth.
Would I recommend this property......Yes but you need a car.
Wir haben die Pfingstferien im Mai 2013 genutzt um mit unseren Kindern (6 und 9 Jahre) eine Rundreise durch Südengland zu machen. Erste Station war das Ferienhaus von Sue und Peter in Dorset. Begonnen hat alles mit einem sehr netten eMail Kontakt schon vor der Reise. Als wir angekommen sind wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen. Selbst ein kleiner Willkommenskorb mit Brot, Butter, Eiern, Speck und Keksen stand bereit. Das Haus entspricht absolut den Bildern und Beschreibungen und ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Sue und Peter sind sehr aufmerksame und hilfsbereite Gastgeber und haben uns gerne viele Tipps für Ausflüge gegeben.
Das Ferienhaus ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge an die Jurassic Coast, nach Stonehenge, Avebury, Bath, Salisbury etc. Es gibt wirklich sehr viel zu sehen.
Im Ort gibt es einen kleinen sympathischen Laden, in dem man alles bekommt was man braucht, man muss also nicht wegen der Milch in den nächsten Supermarkt fahren..
Wir können das Ferienhaus nur empfehlen, wenn uns die Reise mal wieder nach England zieht dann machen wir bestimmt wieder einen Abstecher zu Sue und Peter !
Winfrith Newburgh is just two miles from Lulworth Cove on the stunning World Heritage Jurassic coastline and South West coast path. It is nine miles from the county town of Dorchester and 18 miles from the more bustling conurbations of Poole and Bournemouth. There is a friendly local post office/village store and three pubs nearby. If the weather’s good you may not get further than the local coastline and beaches, but then you’d miss out on other fabulous locations such as Corfe Castle, the Cerne Abbas Giant, the Tank Museum, Monkey World, the Blue Pool, Swanage Railway, Sherborne Abbey, Portland Bill and many others…
