About Heather Pitschka

Steve and I (Heather) have lived in Duluth for the past 20 and 15 years respectively. We call it home now and have a tough time seeing ourselves living elsewhere. Lake Superior has a draw and we've been mesmerized since moving here. We both love the water and spend a significant amount of our free time stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Both of us have caught a muskie out of our canoe a stone's throw away from our house on Minnesota Point. We love this area and look forward to sharing our home with you.

Heather Pitschka purchased this house in 2017

Family Vacation

We had a great stay - the location is wonderful. Just a short walk to the beach or to the lift bridge.

Great place for small family or girls' weekend.

House is updated and gorgeous on the inside. The picture doesn't do it justice. It's also bigger than it looks in the picture. Fully stocked kitchen. 3 season screened in porch in the front of the house allows for some privacy between groups. It is a bit of a walk to Canal Park if your group is not into walking, but it is reachable by car in just a few minutes. Also only about 5 minutes from the best beach in Duluth (Park Point). We really enjoyed our stay.

This was our first VRBO - and we will definitely do it again! We (family of 5) stayed here for a quick getaway to Duluth. The house seemed to be recently updated/remodeled and it was comfortable for our family. We appreciated that it was so neat and clean when we arrived!

It is located in the best spot- It literally is just down the street from the beautiful beach! And it is in (easy) walking distance to the bridge and all the fun things to do. And there is plenty to do.

Our host (Heather) was very helpful with suggestions for both sightseeing and restaurants, and was very quick to respond to email/texts. It is a great little spot to unwind at the end of a day and a nice place to call home when you are traveling! Happy travels!

***ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL*** Warm, Comfortable and Welcoming

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house for a few days in July (2017). It was my husband and I, our two teenage daughters and a teenage friend from France, (ages 16-17). We wanted to get out of the Cities and show our French girl a little bit of "Up North". I was hesitant to book this house, because I thought it might be a little small for our needs, but, I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The house was cozy but not too small, charming but not overstated, and incredibly clean and well equipped to handle any length of stay.

The location was also amazing. We could walk to town, museums, shopping, restaurants, beach and we were within an hour drive of hiking, parks and other beaches. At the end of the day, the house was so welcoming to come back to and we were close enough that if we wanted to enjoy the hustle and bustle of night life, we could, but we were also far enough away to not be bothered, if we wanted a quiet evening in!

Heather was responsive, informative, accessible and great to work with. You can tell there is a lot of love that she puts into maintaining this home away from home.

I would absolutely stay here again!!

Cute house with plenty of room for a family of 5!

  • 5 of 5

Great and exceptionally clean house located 4 blocks from Canal Park. We easily walked there and spent the day and walked back. Also, just 1/2 a block from the beach with lots of sand and of course, Lake Superior, to look at. Would definitively recommend and plan to stay again!

House is clean, comfortable, and cozy. Host is very welcoming and flexible. And the LOCATION!!!

  • 5 of 5

Home was comfortable for 5 adults and couldn't ask for a better location to Grandma's Marathon - 6 blocks from the finish line! We didn't go but public beach access is less than a block away.

AC worked great and beds were comfy. Full kitchen with laundry would work great for an extended stay as well.
