This house has been lovingly restored using traditional materials, paying close attention to detail with local stone and iron work.
There are three good sized double bedrooms (one en-suite), 2 further bathrooms, a large sitting room with flat screen television and DVD, games and books, and very large, well equipped kitchen/dining room.
Outside there is seating for 8 under the shaded stone portico, a pizza oven and barbecue for al fresco dining.
In the gardens of the house is a new 10 x 5 metre pool with antique tile surround and sunbathing area, enjoying all day sunshine and far reaching views across farmland and mountains. There is also a boules court. In 2015 a log cabin was added to the accommodation, giving an extra twin bedded room with en-suite shower. This is available to rent for an additional £150 per week.
Penny and Michael live in the rural countryside of Oxfordshire and have always enjoyed beautiful surroundings, good food and wine and exploring new areas. With Michael a wine merchant, this area, with its extensive variety of affordable and wonderful local wines was clearly one of great interest to us both. It has been a long held dream to own a property in Italy and we are delighted to have found Casa Fringuella.
Penny Robinson purchased this farmhouse in 2012
We live in the countryside in England and wanted to replicate this in Italy. After months of exhaustive searching as soon as we saw this property we knew that this was the house for us. We bought it as a family home and after a year's worth of work including building a portico, pool and additional terrace, it is now time to share it with others.
Casa Fringuella is a unique property in terms of the incredible attention to detail that has gone into it's restoration. There are tiles, bricks, stones and iron work that have been carefully sourced from churches and other historical sites making the high quality of build immediately evident, whilst at the same time providing all the comforts of modern day living.
The small local town of Montelparo has a newly opened boutique hotel and restaurant where it is possible to enjoy cocktails on the terrace, pizzas from the pizza oven and other delicious Italian dishes.
The other superb local restaurants allow us to experience many authentic local dishes. The restaurants are extremely friendly and it has been delightful getting to know them.
This property has the unique benefit of being only minutes away from the well known Ginestra resort, where it is possible to rent bikes, go pony trekking, play tennis and mini golf and enjoy their restaurant.
What a perfect little haven in le Marche you have secured, nurtures and made your own - even better, prepared to share it with others. We love, love the house. So special. Bella. Toute Bene.
A perfect place for a holiday. The house is so well appointed and it was a pleasure to cook the beautifully fresh Italian produce in the kitchen. Excellent facilities and in particular the pool cover meant that even in late September the pool was fantastically warm.
Casa Fringuella is quite simply stunning. An authentic farmhouse which has been superbly restored to a very high standard, providing everything necessary for a totally relaxing holiday.
We drove from London (with a few stops on the way) and thoroughly enjoyed the route to the house as the scenery is wonderful.
We were hoping for a peaceful week away from everything, and Casa Fringuella was perfect for that. The peace and quiet was quite amazing, the views were delightful, and the pool kept us entertained for hours.
The whole area is lovely and the town of Montelparo is charming, and just a few minutes away by car. We spent most of our time at the house but had one evening meal at I Piceni, sat on the terrace watching the stars and eating amazing food.
We were so sad to leave Casa Fringuella, Montelparo and Le Marche, and hope to return again!
Penny's house was perfect for a relaxing week after the excitement of Rome. The house was even more beautiful than the photos, exquisitely restored and set amongst golden fields of wheat, verdant vineyards and glorious groves of olive trees.I loved to sit outside sipping a glass of wine or cup of coffee marvelling at the stunning views of the mountains.Whatever your dreams, lazing by the pool,a competative game of bocce, watching life go by in a piazza with coffee and a cannoli, walking the gorge of hell or bathing in the Adriatic in the shadow of the white cliffs at Sirolo this is the place to stay.My favorite experience however was eating at Hotel Farfense, well it is Italy, what a gem, thanks for the recommendation Penny.I did think of keeping this all to myself as I hope to return someday, but everyone deserves la doce vita
This is a super property in a beautiful part of Italy and as a result we've stayed here three times over the past three years! It's a real get-away loction with amazing views over the surrounding countryside. The house is very well maintained - the interior is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The gardens and
pool area are beautifully maintained,. Lots of external seating areas for you to enjoy.
We like to cook and together the bar b q and pizza oven , make dining outside very pleasurable.
The local village has everything that you need for your trip - make sure you visit the butcher for the most amazing meats - the sausages are TDF. The local grocery shop looks small when you initially enter but they have everything - amazingly - and it's as cheap as the larger supermarkets. Everyone is so friendly in the village - a few Italian phrases go a long way.
There's a new little winebar/deli that has just opened too serving drinks and offering some main courses making it a great stop following your evening stroll to the village.
If you want to explore the area there are wonderful towns and villages nearby - lots of info in the house to help you decide where to go . I particularly recommend Ascoli Picino (and if you fancy a longer trip Urbino), if you are in Ascoli stop at Caffe Meletti for drinks or lunch.
if you are looking for a good restaurant I Piceni in Ortezzano is amazing. Super food.
Top marks for this house - one of the best we've rented and Penny, who owns the property, is a pleasure to deal with.
The villa was amazing, well thought out, beautifully furnished, and well equipped. The pool was everything we'd hoped for, making the kids very happy and entertained for 2 weeks. The garden was lovely, particularly loved all the lavendar, and the garden furniture in all the right places was perfect for those seeking a quiet space or shade from the sun.
The local village of Montelparo was our favourite place to visit as our son fell in love with the pizza's, and the people were lovely. We re-visited Servigliano for the amazing gelato (nice to know after our last visit 5 years ago, nothing had changed).
The weather was amazing, embracing the siestas like you should. Didn't want to leave the villa at the end of our stay. Loved every moment. Even the very long drive back to England was worth it.
We had the most wonderful time at Casa Fringuella - a beautifully designed villa in the most amazing location.
Surrounded by hills and vineyards, you really feel away from it all and have total seclusion. The nearby shops serve fantastic local produce, perfect for cooking up Italian feasts to enjoy out of the terrace.
I could not recommend the villa more - am already desperate to go back!
Casa Fringuella is a beautiful Le Marchian Farmhouse set in rural countryside with far reaching views towards the Sibbllini Mountains. The house has been finished using traditional materials, paying close attention to detail with local stone and iron work.
A 40 minute drive takes you into the mountains where there is skiing in winter and stunning turquoise blue lakes for a refreshing swim in summer. A 30 minute drive in the opposite direction will take you to the Adriatic coast with long stretches of sandy beaches and delicious sea food restaurants. Ascoli Piceno is the nearest city with a beautiful marble piazza and wonderful architecture and well as some friendly bars and restaurants.
Casa Fringuella itself is just 3km from the little town of Montelparo with the most fantastic butcher, a small general store, a bank, post office, pharmacy and two bars. A larger supermarket can be found ten minutes away in Ortezzano.
Within ten minutes drive are several superb restaurants serving delicious, simple, authentic food and lovely local wines at low prices with great service. We particularly like Farfenze in Santa Vittoria, La Torre in Monte Leone for superb anti-pasta and pizzas and for a special night out I Piceni in Ortezzana,
There are local markets in a few of the larger towns, notably in Communanza every Saturday where you can stock up on fresh meats, cheeses and pastas. Many of the butchers will sell delicious Herby porchetta which is well worth a try!
