Situated at the end of a cobble stone lane La Maison des Reves is a haven of comfort and charm. A modern comfortable home inside a walled medieval village in one of France's 100 most BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES. The house with rose gardens alongside the meandering Serein River has views over the river and countryside give a feeling of ' This is just what I need'
Beware I came to visit Noyers and stayed possibly for ever.

All my guests have without question enjoyed their holiday in Noyers sur Serein.
Experience France like a local in Noyers-sur-Serein one of the officially listed Most Beautiful Villages In France. Noyers, rising on a plateau along the meander of the Serein river, is famous for its half timbered houses and medieval towers.
The main floor greets you with ancient tile floors in the recently renovated and fully equipped kitchen and flows into the cosy living room with an open fireplace, comfortable new furniture and TV/DVD/WiFi. The adjoined dining area is the ideal spot for tasting all Burgundy has to offer. There is also a conveniently placed WC on this floor.
The first floor has two large, bright bedrooms, one with a large double bed the other with two twin beds, each fitted with luxurious bedding and storage, a perfect end to a perfect day. This floor also has a full bathroom and a separate WC. In the upper loft with original oak beams, you will find the large open plan master bedroom boasting a queen bed & luxury free standing bath, making your stay that little bit extra special.
The living room leads your large private terrace awaits with open views over the river and green pastures. A lovely space for enjoying meals as well as a snooze in the sunshine. Below the terrace is small garden. From the terrace you enter into an authentic cave complete with tasting table where you can gather with family and friends to sample the fine wines of Burgundy. Come and stay for a while and ENJOY this really friendly multi cultured French Village
I am a Highland Scot. Educated in Edinburgh. Went into the Navy was Commissioned. Went farming in New Zealand at 27 and at 45 sold up a classical vineyard, apple orchard, sheep and cropping farm in Nelson New Zealand. I moved to India where I bred thoroughbred horses and raced them in India with names like Kiwi Challenge. I have still a beautiful old Portuguese Home in Goa and spend the European winter there. I am a gardener and in France I try and create a beautiful garden. This is now my work. A collie/lab dog is my constant friend. I love life and am totally totally HAPPY. Long may it last.

I have travelled all over the world and lived in beautiful places but Noyers is special. You will see how special when you come. I visited and stayed as there is something magic about this wonderful village and the people in it. Visit and find out if you to can find what I found and join the 17 nationalities from all over the world that call this small French Village HOME.
Good food and wine.
Culture with music and art always available.
Beautiful country side.
No CRIME . The police station was closed as no crime here.
Its just as good as it gets for someone like me
Ian and Margreetha are warm and friendly owners of this fantastic property in a truly idyllic and romantic village. We were taken in by the charm and beauty of the photographs, but were overwhelmed on arrival. The light, airy property has beautifully simple room and a great open plan living space with a tiered garden at the rear. Passing through the two terraces, ideal for breakfast, lunch and supper or even just a glass of wine in the afternoon, you find the beautiful and inviting Serien, great for cooling off in the summer heat. Our last discovery was the best of all, at the end of the village a short strol from the property, is the dove cottage. Perched on the gentle meander of the river, the walled garden provides a secluded oasis to relax and sunbath. If that's not enough, then the village, that is nestled in the list of top 100 prettiest villages in France, has everything else and more. The boulangerie is delight and well worth the wait in the queue that forms every morning, the six wonderful little restaurants provide variety on the beautiful, local French cuisine and the markets are quaint. We will be returning!
Very nice house with superb view and ideal to visit/explore Noyers and surrounding but perhaps some of the furniture can be replaced. The couch in the livingroom and the bed ( 2 persons) on the first floor are not really comfortable. It would also be nice to have some comfortable chairs outside ( to relax on the grass).
Ah, Ian, what a marvelous visit we had in Noyers sur Serein! You are the consummate host and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting and visiting with you. Noyers is a lovely and friendly village; your gite is charming and wonderfully appointed. We loved seeing your walled garden-what a treat. My husband will not be pleased when I tell him that we really do need a wall! Ha. Merci mille fois-À la prochaine visite. Cynthia
Our family of 5 recently returned from a 10 day stay at Ian's house in Noyers and it far exceeded our expectations! The village itself is beautiful! Friendly people, wonderful patisserie, plenty of green space/nature walks, etc. I would definitely eat at the restaurant run by Ian's son in law--it is amazing! The house is in a perfect spot-easy to walk to everything in the square, but at the end of a street so as not to be noisy. It overlooks the idyllic Serein River. The sounds of the birds and smell of the roses and peonies were wonderful. Ian is a perfect host and extremely interesting to talk to. I wish we'd had more time to sit over a bottle of wine and listen to more of his stories! :) I can't say enough about this village/house/host. I look forward to returning!
Look no further for a dream home in one of the most beautiful of villages in France. Book this place now. I cannot recommend and praise the house, village and host Ian enough! This has been my third stay Noyers and is one of the few places I have returned to! The first two with my husband and the third most recent visit with 4 girlfriends. Each time has been fabulous. The house itself is first class-Spotlessly clean, stylish, all mod cons, parking, many outside areas to enjoy al fresco dining or even just watching the river flow by as you look out on a stunning view (a visit to the private rose garden is a must) There is such a sense of peace and tranquility about this place. The house is only a 2 min walk to the centre of the village, fresh croissants from the bakery (yum yum), 3 great restaurants on your doorstep, 2 local cosy bars, many artisan shops, a great Saturday market, 2 mini super markets, a fantastic butcher (selling the local Charolais beef.. look out for the white cows around the village).. boules pitches (take an evening wander down to watch village residents and maybe even get in invitation to join in) and so many great walks in and around the village and surrounding countryside ( some maps/guides in the information pack of the house or just ask Ian and he will show you). A canoe along the river is also a treat you must try if you have time. The village itself is breathtakingly beautiful (of course it would be as its voted one of Frances most beautiful villages).. but instead of being a bit twee or artificial it still manages to remain thoroughly grounded because of the great people who live there who are friendly, down to earth and welcoming. Noyers itself is a fantastic place to base yourself to explore the Burgandy region. The town of Chablis is about a 20min drive (full of 'caves' where you can enjoy tastings of some of the worlds most famous wines) and other great places to visit close by are Vezelay (UNESCO site) and Flavigny-Sur-Ozerin (where the film 'Chocolat' was filmed). Last but not least a huge thank you and mention to our host Ian. He and Margaret are so welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and they make every effort to make sure you get the most out of your stay.. recommending lots of hidden gems including in our recent stay a visit to the Briconte barn of a local artist friend of theirs.. (returning home with some amazing finds that we managed to squeeze in to the car in between all of the wine!). Enjoy!
To be in France in a beautiful and well appointed home appeals to me on several levels.....It was simple to remain there and cook rather than being out at a restaurant for the entire visit. Warm, intimate and a beautiful blue door to enter each day. Walks in and around Noyers and fresh vegetables from the market to enjoy and the friendliness of the Noyers merchants. The restaurants in Noyers were delicious and offered traditional cuisine. We stayed in the region and enjoyed our visits to nearby Abbeys and simple pleasures found in those villages. The description was correct, the house clean and I would recommend to any of my friends, as that is how I found Noyers and Maison des Reves. Go and enjoy.
IMPORTANT;- LOOK AT www.noyersmaisondesreves.com The village is the home for Master Classes in Flute, Violin and Piano that attracts students from around the world.. Many concerts are given in the summer months. The village is used as a centre to stay and visit the many beautiful Chateaus, Churches, Art Exibitions and Wine Areas of Burgandy.
As one of France's most beautiful villages many from around the world now call Noyers their home. Many artist live here.
