The BEST views of Lisbon

Pedro was very responsive throughout the reservation process as well as any questions I emailed him during our stay. We met with Joana, who was still cleaning the apartment, but let us in to set our things down in the apartment. She gave us an immediate tour of both the inside, and outside. Not only are there great views from the full length balcony, but once you climb the steps out back up to the terrace, the view is even better! Interestingly, the Castle walls are just behind you on the terrace and you can see the people visiting up there. It did get a bit warm in the apartment as there is no air conditioning, but the portable fans did help. The WiFi worked great, and there was not much noise throughout the night. Like a previous reviewer said, make sure you take all your supplies up to the terrace the 1st time. It can be quite a climb, but worth it. The only thing we wished for was that the other terrace owners (there are like 4 tiers) would help with up keep and maybe pull the weeds that can can surprise you when it's dark during the climb. Other than that, the pictures were true to form, both Pedro and Joana were very helpful, and we would definitely book this apartment again! Obrigado Pedro and Joana!

Wow, what a view!

My first impression upon walking into the apartment was "WOW!" The pictures do not do this place justice. The views and the apartment itself are beautiful. The apartment is very spacious and offers great living space for all. The kitchen is nice and well equipped for having breakfast or other meals at home. The deck is great for watching boats and sightseeing. The terrace is wonderful to relax and have meals/wine. The apartment is very close to nice places to eat, the grocery store and two lifts that will get into city center very quickly. If we come back to Lisbon I would like to stay here again!

Unsurpassed views

This property must offer some of the best views in Lisbon. It has a great location and is only a couple of minutes walk from an elevator that leads directly down to a supermarket. It is really well-maintained and offers flexible bedroom layouts. The only (very slight) downside is that we hadn't appreciated that the terrace is up a flight of steep stairs but we learned to be organised and take up everything that we needed. There's also a great bacony that leads off the living room and one of the bedrooms.

We can recommend the tuk-tuk tours as - although they're expensive - they're very personalised, good value for money , and make the narrow streets of the Alfama much more manageable.

Best location-Fantastic views

We just returned from a week's stay at this beautiful apartment! Photos do not do it justice-very cute inside but all you notice are the stunning views! This is a great area as there is an insane grocery store around the corner and the greatest wine bar (Wine Bar do Castelo) 2 minutes up the street. The castle literally looks down on the terrace and the winding cobblestone streets are beautiful. It is very easy to reach other areas of town as you take a quick elevator down and everything is in walking distance or you can jump into a waiting cab.

Pedro, the owner, is more than helpful! He met us for an early Sunday arrival without complaint, and there if we had any questions or problems. (None for the latter :)

I also recommend Eat Drink Walk Tours for a day of wine tasting and cheese making or if you want to go behind the curtain of the food scene in Lisbon. Celia and Filomena are not only knowledgable but are stellar at making their clients feel comfortable. GREAT TIME!

Amazing apartment and spectacular location!

It is impossible that any description or photo show the features highlights, location and beautiful views from the apartment.

Hearing the bells of the churches, the sounds of boats, the river smells, the city views and enjoy the silence of the night is indescribable, very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

We love being able to go shopping nearby every day before meals, and enjoy breakfast on the balcony and terrace, eating with spectacular views of the river and city.

The apartment is very spacious and clean, located in the best historical and tourist area in downtown Lisbon near the castle.

Congratulations Pedro for the best stay we had till today in Portugal.

Legend has it that the city of Lisbon, like Rome, was founded in a small town surrounded by seven hills. The St. George’s Hill, the seventh and the highest in the city, is also known as the Hill of St George’s castle. Legend has it that it was near the castle that the first town, later known as Lisbon, was born.

The apartment is located 50 metres from the main entrance of the castle in the historic and touristic zone of the city, near monuments, museums, shops, services, public transports, restaurants, terraces and belvederes. 30 metres away is The Chapitô, a cultural avant-garde space, where you can enjoy fado nights, or theatre, jazz, or even have lunch or dinner, admiring the magnificent views over the Tagus River. Within 20 metres there is a public car park.
