The walk along Rue Contesso takes you to the olive tree and benches where the locals meet up to chat before lunch or dinner. From this spot there are but a few steps to buy all your gastronomic needs! The baker, butcher, greengrocer and grocer are nestled around the Place de la Paix with the convenience of a newsagent (selling foreign papers) and a pharmacy.
Our house is in a quiet part of town and is perfect if you are travelling with friends or family and you want to be part of local life yet be only moments from the hub of Villefranche with its many restaurants, shops and cafes. In a few minutes you can be on the beach where there are three cafes serving delicious lunchtime snacks.
There are two double bedrooms and a third bedroom that has two single beds. There is one bathroom with bath, shower and toilet and there is also a separate toilet.
We fell in love with Villefranche 15 years ago and have been going regularly ever since.
Viv Alexander purchased this house in 2002
We couldn't resist the charming courtyard garden which is very rare in the old town.
Situated away from the main tourist area the house is in a very quiet and peaceful part of town yet still near enough to all amenities. Within 100 metres there are two cafes, butcher, baker, grocer, greengrocer, newsagent and pharmacy.
Very nice house. We were five adults, and felt that there was plenty of room. The kitchen was very good, and the little, enclosed patio was great for eating.
Only one shower, but a little organisation meant that it was no problem. The only negative comment is that there was no AC on the first floor, so that it was very hot there, especially in comparison to the two bedrooms on the floor below. The position of the house - in the old town - was excellent, near to the shops, and just a short walk (down, down, down) to the seafront and all the amenities there.
The contact person (Donna) was really great, very friendly and helpful. The house was in immaculate condition, and the only thing missing was a teapot.
Communication with the owner was simple and good, and we would recommend this property to all. We had a great time!
Vic's apartment was perfect for us. Donna met us and showed us to the apartment. It was spotlessly clean and the small courtyard was perfect for outside dining. Located with everything close by and plenty of good restaurants nearby. The beach was close by and there were some beautiful walks close by. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit VSM!,
We spent a lovely week in this very special house in beautiful Villefrance. Everything we could have needed was provided and we felt welcome and comfortable with Donna the local agent on hand if we needed anything.
Enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and beaches which we could walk to, as well as having a bus trip to Cap Ferrat and a train ride to Monte Carlo.
Local shops were close by on foot and had everything we needed, there were also numerous excellent restaurants in the town.
We had driven down and since free parking was tricky to find we didn't use the car once we had parked it for fear of having to use a very pricey car park if we weren't able to find another space; think that this is only an issue in very high season and it wasn't a problem since public transport is excellent.
Our family loved this small village home in the old village of Villefranche. Up a steep little street (yes, you'll get a workout and will burn off calories from that great baguette) you'll find this well-loved house nestled among the historic buildings on a lovely walking street. Best of all was the exquisite enclosed garden where we gathered every evening with friends. The kitchen was well-equipped and modern, as was the spacious bathroom downstairs. Another bonus was the lovely agent, Donna, who greeted us warmly and provided everything we could have asked. This home was the perfect retreat for settling in and feeling like a local.
We had a lovely week here. The apartment is tucked away in one of the picturesque little lanes of Villefranche, quiet but only minutes from shops, restaurants, station and beach. We particularly enjoyed the little patio. It was a lovely spot for a glass of wine or two before dinner. The apartment was clean and well-equipped, with an excellent supply of books. We also appreciated the little square at the end of the lane with its boulanger, butcher and greengrocer and non-tourist café. The restaurant was also worth a visit. I would recommend this to couples who want an interesting, perhaps quirky place to stay where they will feel part of the 'real' Villefranche.
We hired this apartment for a short break to celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary. We were delighted with our choice and felt at home straight away.
Near to the restaurants and shops, plus 5 mins walk to back and railway station, this suited us perfectly.
A well equipped kitchen made eating in easy and the bedrooms were very comfy. The linens were very high quality and plenty of plug points in each room.
A well stocked library was welcome and the apartment felt safe and secure at night.
I would recommend this apartment to any family/ group looking for a comfortable stay in VFSM.
