Gocek, known throughout Turkey for its fabulous yachts harbouring the rich and famous, now has its first truly glamorous bespoke villa. The house may be snuggled away in the peaceful rural mountainside but is just a short 15 minute walk to the bustle of Gocek itself.
Villa Artemis is a gorgeous, elegant home with unique handmade furniture including two four poster beds. We have sourced gorgeous fabrics from Osbourne and Little and Designer Guild and collected some lovely pictures and object d’art. Marble, and natural materials are evident throughout the villa from the handmade beds to the travertine floors.
Outside the villa there is an impressive 10 metre pool with plenty of terraces to sunbathe. We know how important it is to find a peaceful spot away from the games at the poolside and so we have also created a huge day bed in a separate garden.
The villa has many special features making it - we think - one of the best equipped holiday homes on the Turquoise coast.
We arrived at this superb villa towards the end of September to the sun drenched location in the high 20's .
The spacious villa has everything at hand for a family of 6-8 people, it is very clean and luxuriously appointed .
Every morning the pool man arrives early to clean the pool and its surrounding area plus he keeps the shaded gardens all tidy and watered. A complimentary fresh loaf is delivered around about 8am every morning to start another relaxing day. The pool area is fantastic and has the sun on it till late in the afternoon, very relaxing!. During the morning the maid arrives to clean all the rooms and is so pleasant to everyone .The owners have thought of everything , and if there is a problem it is solved in a very short time. Customer service was second to none !
A visit to Gocek village is a must, down by the harbour are numerous cafe's and restaurants overlooking various gullet's and some magnificent yachts and cruisers ,this place reminds me of either Dartmouth or Salcombe for the number of boats .
We took a day trip on a gullet which was fantastic to tour round the gorgeous coastline stopping off to swim in the cool clear waters , have a barbeque lunch and a relaxing few zzzz's in the afternoon .
The area is not over commercialised and still has a rustic charm .
We were there for a week and only wished we had booked two and would fully recommend 'Villa Artemis' to anyone whose looking for a really good holiday location, its the place to be !!!
All the recent fuss about Turkey and its suitability as a holiday destination is complete nonsense! We have just spent the most glorious week at Villa Artemis and have never felt safer! The Turkish people are so friendly, so obliging and so eager to please. From the moment we set foot on Turkish soil we received the most helpful and courteous service, from our wonderful taxi driver, the amazing staff who look after the villa, the restaurateurs and shopkeepers. The villa itself is simply stunning, it is beautifully appointed, immaculately maintained and has everything you could possibly need. The delightful lady who manages the villa provides such good advice on places to go and things to see; and she booked everything on our behalf.
One thing is for sure, you will want to make a return visit.
We had the most amazing and spoiling week at Villa Artemis. The villa is gorgeous - so peaceful, spacious, light and clean with wonderful furnishings. Outside is very pretty too, the pool area great and the enormous day bed a lovely retreat!
It is only a twenty minute drive from the airport. We were arriving in the wee small hours so arranged a transfer to pick us up. We arrived to find the villa all lit up, the air-con on and drink, nibbles and fruit all waiting for us all of which was so welcoming.
Canan, the rep, who keeps an eye on everything was a star and a mine of information and suggestions for what we might like to do and how to go about it. The villa is beautifully maintained, cleaned every day and fresh bread delivered every morning - bliss. A local cook can be organised to rustle you up a lovely lunch or supper.
We did hire a car the following day for the week (brought direct to the villa) but you really don't need to as the taxi firms are all very quick and efficient. It's about a five minute drive into Gocek and the beautiful harbour, lovely restaurants, shops etc. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the people very welcoming and friendly.
We had amazing days out on a boat in stunning clear turquoise waters, swam with sea turtles, went parasailing and at the end of our stay spent two nights on a boat sleeping under the stars.
We honestly couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more and would hugely recommend it.
Really it is the best vacation house in the area. It is extremely clean and neat. It has everything we needed. The area very nice and safe. I highly recommend this property. The staff extremely welcoming.
I travelled with my Husband, Mum, Sister, Brother in Law and two year old Nephew.
We arrived quite late so following a stress free journey and collection from Dalaman Airport I didn't expect to see much in the dark - how wrong I was. As we pulled up at Villa Artemis I was greeted by a beautifully lit, gleaming white property. We were welcomed by the lovely Canan who offered a full tour of the property an presented us with a 'welcome pack' consisting of local produce and wine (delicious!) Canan speaks fluent English and offered us lots of tips for our advice as well as advising us she lives just up the road and would we could call her if we needed anything.
My nephew was delighted to have his own box of toys waiting for him as well as a selection of baby inflatables in the pool - just an example of the many special touches that made this trip so memorable.
Each bedroom is unique and expertly designed to make them bright and inviting - beautiful fabrics have been used for both bedding and curtains. My Husband and I were lucky enough to have the master bedroom with a balcony and a view of the sea and a beautiful Turkish styled bathroom - a joy after a hot day in the sunshine! The villa was immaculate - the floors gleamed and the staff that maintain the property (housekeeper and gardener) were very friendly and did a great job. The garden is beautifully landscaped with lots of colour and a walk around the property always resulted in me finding another area or touch that I hadn't spotted before.
The outdoor dining table offered plenty of shade during the day allowing some long lunches and evenings overlooking the pool. The sunshine shone for us all week but there was always somewhere to sit in the shade and have some peace and quiet if it was needed.
Gocek is only a ten minute walk from the peaceful haven of the villa. The walk Gocek is flagged with beautiful flowers adorning local gardens - I have never seen hollyhocks so tall! Gocek has a lovely vibrant atmosphere and is a great place for shopping, lunch and dinner. The mega yacht marina can be viewed via a long decked jetty, some incredible sights there!
We had some lovely meals in Blue, Yen and a frozen lemonade in Cafe West is a must. Also lunch at the Sundowner restaurant private beach of D-Marin hotel is worth a visit.
We went on a gulet for a day which was incredible -snorkeling and kayaking from the boat was such fun!
We had a wonderful holiday, I would highly recommend this exquisite villa.
We were 2 families in total there were 8 plus a baby, the villa was absolutely wonderful for all of us as each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom.Everything was perfect from the moment that we arrived until the time of our departure. The Villa has everything that you could possibly want and more to the point that we rebooked on our return for another week.A fantastic bonus was having a housekeeper that came every day which allowed us to enjoy our holiday to the full.we used the recommended caterer on several occasions who provided traditional authentic delicious food at a very reasonable cost.
This was a truly wonderful villa we all had an amazing holiday and can't wait to return.
We would highly recommend this villa.
Gocek, just a 20 minute drive from Dalaman airport, is a very special place. The setting is so beautiful it has been designated a national park and is jealously protected by Turkish people. Nestling at the foot of the majestic pine covered mountains this lovely coastal village is largely car free with landscaped promenades and a host of exotic trees.
Gocek is perfectly placed to visit the 12 islands lying off its shores; each tiny island has its own personality, some with ancient ruins to explore, others with sleepy restaurants but all set in breathtaking surroundings of warm crystal clear seas and secluded coves.
