Beautifully restored old townhouse with 3 bedrooms (sleeps 7) within a 5 minute walk of the historic town of Alora where there are plenty of Spanish town and shops.

Alora was featured in C4's 'Place in the Sun' in February 2016 as an ideal place to buy a property due it's history, location, Spanish culture and amenities.

Kitchen: New, fully fitted kitchen with integrated cooker and fridge/freezer, fan assisted oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, toaster, kettle and juicer.

Large dining room area with table to seat 8 people. Ipod / iphone music dock.

Living Rooms: Large lounge with traditional fireplace, cosy fire, 40 inch wall mounted TV with access to UK TV, Sky Cinema, Sky Sports, BT Sports and Netflix. Unlimited Wifi. 2 large sofas, one of which is a double pull out sofa bed and a foot stool.

Utility Room: Iron, ironing board, hoover, clothes airer and all cleaning essentials provided. Other useful items including pushchair, beach equipment (inflatables, parasol) etc.

Bedroom 1 with double bed, ceiling fan, en-suite bathroom, large balcony with table and chairs overlooking the mountain views.

Bedroom 2 with double bed, ceiling fan, plenty of furniture and wardrobe. Views to the front of the house.

Bedroom 3 with single bed (travel cot / child's sleeping bars are also available) and ceiling fan.

En-suite bathroom from Bedroom 1 with walk in power shower and hair dryer.

Double sofa bed in lounge that can sleep an additional 2 people.

Bathrooms: Bathroom 1 with full size bath and shower over.

Other: Travel cot, high chair, child's bed guard, boxes of toys, beach toys and children's books. House well stocked for toddlers and children as we have 2 young boys ourselves.

Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service: Towels, beach towels and linen provided. Extra maid services can be arranged if required - call Nanci to arrange.

A welcome pack containing essential food and household items is provided to all our guests in case you arrive late and miss the supermarket.

The nearest beaches to Alora are Churianna, Malaga and Torremolinos all of which take 30 mins by car and 35 mins by train. Torremolinos is perfect for kids as you can park on the main promenade at no charge. Marbella and Puerto Banus beaches are also great but parking is typically 10 euros for the day in the main underground car parks and take approx 40 mins to get to. If you fancy going further afield, the infamous Trocadero beach in Marbella is within a 45-50 minute drive and has a beautiful restaurant/bar, kids club, climbing frame, free parking and toilet/shower facilities - perfect for enjoying the beach in luxury!

Cycling: Perfect for cycling enthusiasts. Bikes can be hired from Malaga or there is a fantastically stocked bike shop in Alora, which is just a 5 minute walk away from the house. It has bikes for hire and they also do repairs etc. English speaking, they are a fountain of knowledge and can suggest some great cycle routes in the area. Most of our guests take advantage of the scenic route up to the El Chorro lakes, where the finish of the La Vuelta race in August 2015 was. The race actually went through Alora and ended up at El Chorro and so this route is particularly well suited for those cycling enthusiasts.


There are some fabulous golf courses nearby – Lauro Golf, a 27 hole golf course and Alhaurin Gold, a 36 hole golf course are both 30 mins drive away.


2 hours drive from the skiing resort of Sierra Nevada. Granada is also worth a stop over.


Malaga Airport is 30-35 minute drive or 45 mins by train. Car hire is not essential as Alora has a very good train and bus service. Although we now always hire a small car as there are so many places to visit locally. Go to our website for further information on local activities and more pictures of the house.

Airport collection is also available upon request and provides a seamless transition from the airport to your accommodation. Jerry & Viv (our parents) will pick you up for 60 euros, whatever the time.

Alora has a large fully stocked supermarket, a modern sports and leisure complex and a fantastic outdoor swimming pool which is open throughout the summer months (June, July, August and the first week in September).

There is also a great pool/bar/restaurant (El Mirador) in the barriada (5 minute drive away) which serves delicious paella, has a fantastic pool area with superb views of Alora and the surrounding El Hacho hills.

Out of these months there is an indoor swimming pool which has been recently refurbished in Pizzarra a nearby town (10 mins drive).

Unlimited Wifi is provided to help keep in touch with the world and to avoid costly data charges on your smartphones. The Wifi WEP key is underneath the router in the front room for easy connection to all devices that you bring and is signposted on table under TV.

About Georgina Hodge

We bought 35 Calle Malaga in 2006 for many reasons including the fact that our parents also live in the same town. This meant that we could combine holidays with seeing family which is even more special now that we have 2 young boys.

When we decided to rent our home out to holiday makers, the fact that our parents lived nearby made it an easy process for us as they are always on hand to help out and make sure all our holiday makers have a great time.

The traditional nature of the property and it's old, unique features made us fall in love with the property straight away - even though the back half of the house was in ruin. It took us 18 months of hard labour to build/extend the house and to furnish it to what it is today. It was a true labour of love and we are thrilled with the results. Our holidays there are very special and our boys love it too.

What makes this house unique

We've managed to combine the authenticity of an ancient, traditional, Spanish town house with all the mod cons that everyone needs to enjoy a chilled out holiday. This includes WIFI, flat screen TV with English channels SKY Sports / Movies, dishwasher, washing machine, 2 barbecue areas, sun loungers and 2 double hammocks for the ultimate in relaxation!

Fantastic house for a relaxed family holiday

We spent a wonderful week at Casa del Malaga, it was everything we had hoped and more. The description of the property was accurate. Great communication as soon as we booked, during and after our stay. The welcome pack on arrival was really helpful (bread, milk etc). We were looking to experience the real Spain and Alora was perfect. Although we had a hire car we also used the train and bus to travel to Malaga. We also visited Marbella.

The property was great, clean and well equipped. We spent a lot of time on the roof terrace just relaxing and made use of the BBQ. We also used the plunge pool but think we need to return in warmer weather to get better use of it! The three year old loved laying in one of the hammocks 'reading' some of the many children's books that were provided in the small bedroom. Really well equipped house in a fantastic location if you are looking for a relaxing break in the real Spain. Wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Lovely house in Andalucia

We had a lovely time in the house in Alora. The property was clean and comfortable and the kitchen is great. The bedrooms were great, what we especially loved were the balcony on the master bedroom and the fantastic roof terrace. We loved the area and spent quite a lot of time at the lakes out at El Chorro and the beaches between Malaga and Torremolinos. Ronda is also well worth a visit, only about an hour's drive.

Sunny stay in Casa Malaga, Alora

Casa Malaga is a beautifully renovated property. It's spacious, in a great location in town, and the views are amazing. The roof terrace is absolutely perfect for evening meals, sunny breakfasts and sunbathing all day. The bedrooms are all very nice. We had the one with the little terrace which was gorgeous. Bathrooms are also very well done, and the kitchen is fitted out with all the bits and pieces you'll need. Alora is a great little town, perfect for trips to Malaga and the beach, El Chorro or the countryside. Highly recommended!

Super holiday, glorious house in a great location!

Well then! We all really, really enjoyed our stay in Alora. The property is just fantastic with plenty of space, a great top floor with perfectly located beer fridge and brilliant views over them there hills.

The plunge pool was a huge hit with the kids (aged 7 and 10).

Overall the Townhouse is well situated, clean, full of the mod cons we're all used to at home within easy reach of the beaches and lakes which are a must visit.

A welcoming home from home.

The property was lovely, very clean and well maintained. All the comforts of home with some wonderful features. Everyone enjoyed the roof terrace with its beautiful views and the kids loved the pool. A great base from which to explore the lakes and the coast.

Fantastic house, views and location

A beautiful, well equipped and very clean house.

Fantastic facilities with great out door areas - one off the kitchen where we spent our time as a family relaxing on the loungers and the occasional well needed dip in the pool, and the impressive roof terrace where we spent most evenings. The views from the roof terrace are just beautiful and we spent many a nights on the double hammocks star gazing.

Location wise - it was fantastic, a short walk through the traditional, narrow streets to both the old town and the new town which had plenty of lovely bars and restaurants - all authentic which was nice. The other fantastic part of going out for for something to eat was that everything was so cheap! - for the first time in many years, we came back from our holiday with spare Euros because we couldn't spend enough!

The owners of the property - Georgina and Mat really went out of their way to accommodate our wishes and make sure we had an enjoyable stay. Viv and Gerry, their parents live in Alora so it was reassuring that someone was there if we needed anything and they gave us some great local tips of where to eat out and visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so much so, we have booked again for next year and we would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Our beautifully restored Andalucian town house is hundreds of years old and is situated on a row of typical Spanish dwellings in the very old town of Alora. It has a comforting 'home from home' feel with a modern appearance and cosy ambiance set amongst traditional Spanish surroundings.

Alora was featured in C4's 'Place in the Sun' in February 2016 as an ideal place to buy a property due it's history, location, Spanish culture and amenities.

The house is less than 5 minutes walk to Alora, a traditional Spanish whitewashed village sitting on top of the El Hacho hills. It has narrow, winding cobbled streets lined with lemon trees and crammed with shops, restaurants, bars and grocery stores.

It is also within 15 minutes walk of an outdoor swimming pool which is open throughout the summer months and is a 5 minute drive away from a pool/bar/restaurant in the barriada with stunning views up to Alora and the old castle.

The house is within easy reach of Alora train station with a direct line to Malaga (and coastal resorts). Malaga airport and Churianna beach are only 25 minute drive away and the well known Trocadero beach in Marbella is 45 minutes by car.

Alora is very popular with walkers and climbers as it is only 20 minutes from the beautiful Andalucian Lake District called El Chorro – famous for its beautiful lakes, rock and gorge climbing and perfect for swimming, cycling, mountain biking, rock climbing, walking, sailing and fishing. You can also hire canoes, paddle boards and pedaloes on the lake side.

In August 2015, the famous Vuelta a España (Tour of Spain) cycling race went twice through Alora lining the streets with people who watched hundreds of cyclists go past. The race finished in El Chorro, a 20 minute drive away from Alora. Amazing roads for cycling and the views are spectacular.

The infamous Trocadero beach in Marbella is 45-50 minutes away in the car. The drive to Trocadero flies by as you sit back and enjoy the beautiful Spanish scenery and sea views. It is such a great place to chill out and enjoy a glass of wine on the beach in pure luxury! The kids love it especially with the climbing frame and kids club to keep them well occupied.
