17th cent. Mansion renovated in 2013, 7/8 bdrooms, 7 bthr, 7 WC, fenced poo

At the heart of Provence, in the North Avignon, close to the Roman city of Orange, Just a step from the Medieval city of Pont Saint esprit, its cathedral and its bridge of the 13th century, in the confluence of the Ardèche and the Rhône, in the fertile plain of the Rhône is situated this beautiful property of the 17th century on 7 acres of meadows and wood, lined by the river Lauzon.

The domain is constituted by a main stone Mas and a dependance.

The old Mas of 320 m ², former typically Provençal magnanerie (silk worm), was renovated in 2013 by allying at best the old fashion and the modern comfort.

The dependence fitted out in 2012 of 80m ².

The large swimming pool (5x10m), in the middle of the lawn is in the park raised, flowery and closed of 2000 m ².

The 7 hectares of the property are for the exclusive use of the tenants; they are shared in 1 hectare of wooden (not fitted out, nor mown), lined by the river in photo; 5 hectares of mown meadow, and one hectare maintained regularly directly dedicated for the house and the accesses.

This part is a surface enclosed and divided into 3 zones:

-The swimming pool in a fenced park of1500m ² with the lawn and the flowery massifs (Rose, Peonies, Iris, etc.) and some fruits (grapes muscatel wines, figues)

-In front of the dependance, approximately 1500m ² of closed ground, half herbs, half trees and bamboo;

-The terrace of 100m ² in front of the mas with tables and chairs, shaded by the tense sails as well as a vine arbour of kiwi and wisteria (bring down in white gravel).

Finally, the second part of the garden, not closed, bounded by meadows is fitted out next to the mas. Iit is situated under the very old big plane trees. This zone recovers approximately 3000m ² of standing meadow of fruit trees: almond trees, Pear trees, Apricot trees, Apple tree, Plaqueminier ( khaki) and especially an old falling again fig tree which was fitted out in natural hut for the happiness of the children!

The huge tercentenaries plane trees offer a beautiful shade for a space meal next to the built barbecue, to the petanque area and to the parking. The partially shaded terrace offers a view up to the Mount Ventoux.

For your leisure activities:

The Ardèche's Gorges : (5 km) fitted out beaches, restaurants-open-air dance halls at the water's edge, canoeing, climbing, hikes,

Cycling: in front of the property cross the cycle road of the Rhône valley (From the Léman Lake in switzerland until the mediterranan sea).

Water-skiing on stretch of water with ski lift in 5km.

In a beam of around thirty kilometers you can visit the castles of Grignan, Uzès, the Roman vestiges of Orange, Vaison la Romaine, and of inescapable Pont du Gard. Unless one hour, the Palace of the popes in Avignon and its famous bridge. And of course the vineyards of the Côtes du Rhône: Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, etc....

The property is Ideal for 5 families; five couples and their children:

Functional until 7 couples ( if children in their parents' room)

5 double rooms (beds in 160) among them, 3 with privative bathroom and two with common bathroom with one other room

- Bdr 2 and 3 on bathroom 2 + toilets separated, on the 1st floor.

- Bdr 6 and 7 on the bthr 5 with toilets in the shower-room on the 2nd floor.

The bedroom n°2 with three beds and the bedroom n° 7 is a 35m² dormitory with 5 single beds, one bunk bed and a sofa bed.

In the dependance, a sofabed (double bed 140 cm) in the second TV lounge ( bedroom 8), with Toilets and washbasin. On the first floor, bedroom n°5 with 3 single beds, or coupled bed in kingsize. Bathroom bathtub toilets and dressing room.


Supplied sheets, change in midstay for a minimum stay of 3 weeks.

OPTIONAL Bathroom linen on request 5€ / pers - (a big, a small towel ) or 60€ the group.

Optional final cleaning 150 € to be paid on the spot in cash only.

We live in Montélimar, 35 km north. We are a couple (executive manager in an international firm and liberal medical profession) and have two children who are already going to school.

Why Eric Latarche chose Haut-Vaucluse

We bought this farmhouse in the region of origin of my great grandparents in order to move there in a few years, after we retire.

What makes this mas unique

The house is in a very quiet setting, in the middle of 6 ha of meadows, however, it is not isolated; the neighbouring farmhouse (an equestrian centre) is only 300 m away and accessible by the same way. There are three-century-old trees and climbing vines that bring some shade and calm to the house.

We stayed at Mas du Fer a Cheval at the beginning of September. For us (a group of 11 cyclists from England) it was just perfect. Access was easy, the kitchen was brilliantly equipped and the rooms were all very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed sitting out every evening on the long table outside enjoying our evening meals! In fact, we enjoyed it so much, we never went out for a meal! The pool was great, particularly after a long ride.

Loads of great cycling around, Ardeches was great and all around Ventoux was superb (Malaucene is less than 1 hour away).

une semaine de vacances entre amis

Nous avons loué cette superbe et spacieuse maison avec un groupe d'amis (11 adultes et 9 enfants) ; nous avons passé une semaine formidable dans ce petit havre de tranquillité. Cette immense et ancienne maison, rénovée avec beaucoup de gout offre des chambres spacieuses et des espaces de vie très agréables. La grande terrasse, ombragée par de grandes voiles, est une invitation au repas familiaux et aux soirées de fêtes.

La piscine est son espace permettent de profiter des chaleurs en toute quiétude.

A quelques km de Pont St Esprit, toutes les commerces sont accessibles rapidement. Balades possibles au départ de la maison.

Vallée de la Ceze et de l'Ardèche à proximité, cette villa est idéalement placée.

La communication avec le propriétaire et la personne qui s'occupe de la maison a été simple et agréable.

(Seul tout petit bémol : la petite maison doit être libérée à 8h le jour du départ.)

En résumé un très beau mas provencal fait pour accueillir famille et amis ... tout y est ! à recommander !

Encore désolé pour la petite maison à libérer de bonne heure; 400m2 à préparer pour les suivants nécessitent une organisation rigoureuse... Ça vous permet en contrepartie de gagner un peu de temps sur la pièce de vie que vous pouvez libérer un peu plus tard que 10h ... Au plaisir de vous recevoir à nouveau.

Superbe mas, spacieux et bien équipé.

Nous avons loué le mas une semaine au mois d’aout (15-25 pers) et nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable dans un cadre idyllique et calme.

La maison correspondait parfaitement à nos attentes. Grande pièce à vivre, belle chambre et jardin bien entretenu.

Je vous recommande cette adresse.

Bon séjour entre amis

Les + de cette location :

- Chambres spacieuses et confortables

- Ménage bien fait

- Salles d'eau et WC en nombre suffisant

- Piscine chauffée (avec beaucoup de transats agréables) et sécurisée par un enclos

- 2 lave vaisselle

- Lave linge grande capacité

- A l'écart des autres maisons

- Grand jardin ombragé

- Salle à manger assez grande pour 20 personnes

- De la place pour les voitures

Les - de cette location :

- Vaisselle un peu juste pour 20 personnes

- Manque de parasols sur le coin piscine

- Le coin vers le barbecue mériterait un espace repas plus important pour bénéficier de l'ombre du grand platane

- Le plancher du dortoir craque, ce qui est gênant pour les 2 chambres du dessous

Nous avons passé un séjour agréable (12 adultes et 10 enfants dont 2 bébés). M. Latarche, bien que non présent physiquement, a su répondre très aimablement à nos questions.

Owner's Response: Merci bien pour vos commentaires constructifs et élogieux. Je suis vraiment désolé pour la vaisselle manquante, je me suis rendu compte effectivement qu'il n'y avait plus un seul verre à eau, il ne restait qu'une trentaine de verre à vin et seulement 19 grandes assiettes sur les 40 du service initial. Je viens de remettre 50 verres à eau et rajouter 18 verres à vin ainsi que 30 assiettes... Le parasol était bien rangé, mais cassée. .. Tout sera corrigé très vite! Le parquet qui craque fait parti des inconvénients des vieilles maisons...je vais rajouter des tapis pour réduire cet inconvénient. Pour le salon de jardin sous le platane avec la barbecue bâti, je vais étudier pour prendre en double des tables et chaises puisqu'il y en a déjà pour 24 personnes devant le mas avec le barbecue à gaz. Je vous remercie bien pour ces remarques constructives et aussi pour les remarques positives quant à l'aménagement du Mas.
