Has it all in the Burgundy Countryside

  • 5 of 5

We had a most relaxing and enjoyable stay in this countryside home which is an excellent location for touring Burgundy. Clean spacious rooms, a totally equipped kitchen, and an outdoor patio make this house of historic character a wonderful place to stay. Scenic drives to nearby medieval towns and farming communities, along with exploring the Morvan and the cities of Beaune and Dijon leave touring options for everyone.

Agnés and Tim, the most pleasant and helpful owners, are nearby and available to assist with any information. We highly recommend the personalized tour that Tim offers on the local French Resistance Movement in WW ll.

We hope to return soon, Thank you.

Beautiful stylish cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in the cottage. The house is cosy and you feel at home right away. Agnes and Tim are very friendly.

The weather wasn't really good, but there's lots to visit in the surroundings. We are definately going back next year.

A rural treasure

  • 4 of 5

A delightful and comfortable cottage set in a quiet hamlet. Plenty of space for 2 couples each with their dog. The impressive Canal de Bourgogne is a short walk across open farmlands, ideal country for dogs.

Both Dijon and Beaune are easily accessible although we preferred to visit some of the pretty villages along the route of the canal, many of them boasting good well priced eating places. Chateauneuf is only a short drive and is worthy of a visit if only for the view of the surrounding country side, and a visit to the local creperie.

Agnes and Tim live just across the road and were always willing to help with suggestions or advice. Agnes also arranged for us to visit the local vet with our dog in preparation for the return to the UK.

The evenings were chilling off during our visit but the wood burning stove provided the necessary warmth.

A lovely holiday, would certainly return.

Comfortable, well equipped property with pleasant and helpful owners nearby

  • 5 of 5

Well presented, comfortable and spacious property. A tasteful conversion of an original stone cottage, well equipped with everything necessary for a self catering stay.

Two large double bedrooms plus a mezzanine with a single. Large living room and kitchen, garden and patio area with BBQ.

A good area for walking, cycling and peace and quiet with a varied selection of restaurants nearby.

Excellent property at a good price.

Feels like home!

  • 5 of 5

La Cachette is a delightful, clean, well-eqipped and comfortable gite in the heart of Burgundy. We stayed here for a fortnight in June, which we booked having enjoyed our holiday so much in this property last year. It's always a gamble to repeat such a happy experience, but we were by no means disappointed. Agnes was as welcoming and helpful as ever and the two weeks went by far too quickly. There are some lovely villages in the area and we had the opportunity to explore them in greater depth this time. We plan to return for another stay next year.

Exceeded expectations!

  • 5 of 5

This property was the owners home- and it shows in the quality and attention to detail of the interior. It is spacious and well equippped, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The photos don't do it justice. Agnes has worked in tourism for many years so knows how to look after her guests. There are even some UK TV channels and good broadband.

It's peaceful with good views and a lovely garden. The problem is that we only stayed a week.
