Overview

About the property

4 bedroom house in quiet cul de sac, with sea views and private garden

Sand's End is a lovely happy family holiday house with a great relaxed feel about it, sitting at the end of a quiet cul de sac with a peaceful enclosed pet friendly garden and great views of the bay from the bedrooms. A short walk via footpaths, to the wonderful beaches, which are host to all sorts of watersports throughout the year, safe bathing and lovely sand for digging castles or enjoying the rock pools when the tide is out. Once you have arrived at Rhosneigr you could throw away your keys as there are plenty of really good places to eat and drink - all within metres of the house.

Sands End is a clever mix of tradition with contemporary and all with a great seaside feel to it.

Large open plan kitchen dining room going round the corner to the sitting room. The kitchen is fitted with electric hob and double oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher; washing machine and microwave are kept in the utility area. A large pine dining room table with comfy chairs - where you will have fun meals. The sitting room has comfy leather sofas and an open fireplace, which is great on blustery winter days, Freesat TV and CD player.

Wi Fi available.

Downstairs shower room with large spacious shower, loo, wash hand basin, under floor heating and electric wall towel rail. Please take note that there is no bath tub in the house.

Downstairs is a double bedroom looking on to an enclosed rear garden and a fun twin room with French doors opening on to the garden with TV and DVD player. This is an ideal room to tuck the children away in.

Upstairs to a spacious double bedroom with stripped pine floors, wonderful sea views, complete with armchairs to sit at the window and watch the sunset over the bay. Upstairs there is loo and wash hand basin and twin room with wooden floors.

Linen supplied but please bring your own towels.

High chair and baby travel cot available.

We welcome a well behaved dog, as the rear garden is secure and Rhosneigr is an ideal place for a dog friendly holiday! Whilst the house is kept clean and none of the floors are carpeted, I do not recommend staying here if you suffer from dog or cat allergies.

Please note the house does not have a bath but with downstairs shower room and bedrooms it is an ideal house for guests who cannot manage stairs.

In 2010, Sands End was graded by the Menai Holiday Company as 3 star. The house is in good decorative order, whilst it sleeps 8, it only has one shower room (2 toilets) and no en suite bathroom.

Guestbook comments from the owner

If you are looking for a traditional family holiday, then Sand's End in Rhosneigr is the place for you. Its is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, with beautiful uncrowded sandy beaches and local shops and cafes within a 5 minute walk. Sand's End itself is a large chalet bungalow, with plenty of space for two families. Upstairs is a double room with a sea view, and a twin bedded room, a toilet and washbasin, whilst downstairs is a double bedroom and another twin-bedded room with a second TV and french windows which open onto the rear garden. There is a very large well equipped kitchen/dining room with washing machine, microwave, very large fridge freezer and everything needed for your catering needs. The lounge has an open fire, extremely comfortable furniture and TV with freeview. The shower room with sink and toilet has underfloor heating, and outside there are two spacious gardens to the front and rear and off road parking for 3 cars.

We have stayed in or near Rhosneigr for the past eleven years and when we needed a larger place to stay, when daughter and her two children said they would like to come with us for a week, we found Sand's End, and what a find. We have stayed there for the past two years and have already booked for June 2013. The children loved the downstairs bedroom and used it as their playroom which was wonderful when we needed a bit of peace, and the rear garden is completely safe and private for children and dogs to play in. Because of the location of Sand's End, it is so nice to be able to walk to the beaches without having to travel everywhere by car, but it is also very handy for exploring the rest of Angelsey and also places like Llandudno and Snowdonia are within easy reach. Rhosneigr has the best beaches on the island and you can walk for miles without seeing another soul, and so when you see what Angelsey has to offer, you will always come back to Rhosneigr.

All in all, I can highly recommend Sand's End as a wonderful place to spend a peaceful holiday, away from it all, it is Cornwall but without the crowds, commercialism and car parking charges and it is easy to see why William and Kate chose the area to begin their married life.

A superb Bungalow with everything you need for your holiday with a fantastic fully enclosed garden which was great for our 3 dogs

A great location only minutes from both beaches and the town center with it's cafes and pubs which are very dog friendly.

This was our 2nd visit to Sands End this year and we are going again in May 2018.

Everything you need for a great get away break.

  • 5 of 5

The property is lovely, airy and spacious; there were 7 adults staying at Sands End and we had plenty of room for a comfortable stay with enough communal space for us to eat and socialise together when needed. The house is stocked with everything you need.

The garden is enclosed and peaceful, ideal for our dog to relax in. The locals we came across were all really helpful and friendly also. The location is ideal with beautiful beaches close by and shops too, with a couple of bars en-route if that's what you want. The house itself is located on a quite cul-de-sac so child and pet friendly.

We loved it and would return for a break away again without hesitation. The owner is very welcoming and wants you to feel at home at Sands End which we certainly did.

Great location

  • 5 of 5

First thing we look for is an enclosed garden for our dog, as being a Jack Russell he is related to Houdini!! I can confirm this garden is truly enclosed, not one escape act during our stay. Actual cottage is really nice, comfy sofa's, well equipped kitchen and nice beds with quality bed linen. The view from the main bedroom is also quite beautiful. Everywhere was also very bright and lovely and clean. Once you work out the paths close by the centre of town or beaches are minutes away. The beaches are superb prompting my three year old grand daughter to say to me ''grandad this is a very nice holiday''. We will be sure to return in the future to make more memories in this stunning area.

Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful location Sands End is only minutes from both the town centre and both beaches.

This is our first time staying here and it won't be our last .

The Bungalow was in a perfect location with a wonderful big dog friendly garden which was great for our 3 little dogs and superb sea views from the upstairs bedroom.

Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is provided and the box of chocolates and bottle of wine was a nice touch.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Sands End if you want the perfect holiday.

Also dealing with Chessy was a pleasure.

Rhosneigr is a small village on the Isle of Anglesey. It is literally overlooking miles of unspoilt sandy beaches and natural sand dunes. This 'best kept secret' in Anglesey boasts excellent beaches and has become a water-sports heaven for those who like to try the new adventurous sports of kite surfing, surfing, coast steering, paddle boarding and the like. Don’t worry if you haven’t tried these before there are schools who will give you 1 to 1 or group training, to help you master a new pastime.

For walkers looking for a more sedate pace, Rhosneigr is on the Anglesey Coastal Path - a walk taking you the whole way around the Island! For more adventurous hikers the Snowdonia National Park is only 40 minutes drive.

For an even slower pace there is the beautiful village of Rhosneigr, with long beach walks, the Maelog Lake walkway and the nearby lanes to meander around. Whatever you choose Rhosneigr will not disappoint.

Anglesey golf course is less than one mile away. Self described as 'an interesting 18 holes links course (6330 yds, SSS 71), set amongst sand dunes, the whole course boasts an abundance of wildlife and is an important conservation area. This golf course is used for North Wales county championship matches and because of its even nature, it is a fair test for golfers of all abilities.'

Anglesey race circuit, less than 3 miles away. It has recently undergone heavy investment and it now houses events almost every weekend of the year, from vintage races to national motorbike championships. A real special day out.

The Island is very easy (and traffic free) to get around by car - Newborough Forest and Llandwyn Island. Beaumaris on the Menai Straits. Holyhead - with South Stack light house and marina.

Within one mile of Rhosneigr is the RAF air force base Valley, where the pilot flying school is located and the helicopter base for air sea rescue. On weekdays you feel priviledged to spectate on your own private air displays!
