About this property

Charming & Private Farm House

The farmhouse sits on 80 acres of meadows and woods, set well back from the road. The largest of 3 spring-fed ponds is over an acre in size and wonderful for swimming. Stratton and Bromley are within 5 miles and Manchester and Weston are within easy driving distances.

The farmhouse was built in 1870 and contains an updated kitchen, dining room, living room, study, 7 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Two fireplaces add to the cozy atmosphere. There is a no-fuss electric sauna house next to the top pond.

Loved the pond!
We really enjoyed our stay and my grandson (1.5 years old) really liked the pond. Our dogs loved it also. The patio provided shade for afternoon sitting and there was plenty of room for all 7 of us. Keep in mind this is an old farmhouse, we had a mouse help himself to our bagels. Loved the old farmhouse charm but a few appliances need a little work. Appreciated the quiet of the property while still being near some nice restaurants and a good grocery store.

Great property, house could use some updating.
We loved the property. We liked the house, kitchen appliances and outdoor grill could stand to be updated. That being said, we would stay at this property again.

About the host

Host profile image
I live in Connecticut with my wife, Beth, our daughter Morgan and our 5-year-old golden retriever, Bella. I love to ski, sail and build.

Why they chose this property

This house has been in our family since my parents purchased in 1967. We have enjoyed many ski vacations and summer dips in the ponds. Our fame to claim is that the original prototype Burton snowboard was developed at our farmhouse by our caretaker, Jake Carpenter Burton..

What makes this property unique

Great swimming pond.
Great sauna.
Seclusion and privacy.
