Overview

About the property

8 bedroom Southern estate w/ guest house - sleeps 25

Constructed in the 1880’s, Stay Heirloom's recently renovated Greek Revival mansion features original architectural details -- blending traditional NOLA architecture with luxurious modern amenities. With 8 bedrooms, 5 full baths/3 half baths, and a separate guest cottage, there’s space for up to 25 guests; perfect for large groups, weddings, and companies coming to town on business.

LOCATION DETAILS

The French Quarter and lower Treme remain the most joyful, lively, and vibrant areas of New Orleans -- home to an incredible underground live jazz scene and regular second line parades. Our home is just a short walk to the French Quarter and the Marigny/Frenchmen Street. We are also a few blocks away from the North Rampart streetcar line. Our home is located about 20 minutes from the airport.

The best way to get around is by foot, bike, taxi, or Uber/Lyft. For cycling enthusiasts, New Orleans is an eminently bikeable city, and there are several rental and tour companies in close proximity (we especially recommend Bicycle Michael’s on Frenchmen Street). The Quarter and Marigny are both within walking distance, and other hotspots such as The Bywater neighborhood and Magazine Street are a short cab ride away.

Our house decorated with a special touch!!

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for my daughter's wedding and to say I was a little stressed would be an understatement. We had very very high expectations for the home and honestly everything exceeded them. The decor was out of this world: mid century modern meets classic NOLA Greek revival. Each bedroom was decorated with a special touch and the extra bathrooms were deeply appreciated for wedding primping. We took an absurd amount of photos at the home but my favorite were those we took in front of the house and on the upper balcony. That being said, what truly made the home special was our host Frank. He responded to every question we had within five minutes and ensured we had everything we needed for the big day. His care and commitment to hospitality was something that did not go unnoticed and we could not recommend the home highly enough.

Decorated, clean, and with comfortable beds!!

  • 5 of 5

Our company was in NOLA for a conference and could not have been more impressed by Frank's property. The house itself was very well decorated, clean, and with comfortable beds. It was clear that the designer had put a lot of thought into the property. I particularly loved the kitchen and for the few meals we cooked we had everything we needed. In the past, we have stayed directly downtown but wanted to try something different this year. We were very glad we did and the neighborhood surrounding the mansion is very cool, we would definitely recommend walking around! That being said, you are still fairly close to the Quarter and all of the NOLA hotspots.

House looks even better than the pictures!!

  • 5 of 5

We were visiting New Orleans for our first time and were absolutely stunned by Frank’s property. The house looks even better than the pictures and the decor is as vibrant as the neighborhood. We loved the outdoor porches and the sliding window/ doors on the upper level were so cool!

Bait and Switch

  • 1 of 5

My husband and I booked a dream vacation home for his 50th birthday party celebration in NOLA. We had friends fly in from all over the country. I made dinner reservations, catering reservations, tour reservation etc... Three days before our scheduled arrival, we received a phone call from Frank Glaser’s assistant Katherine informing us that the property we rented was now unavailable. She told my husband the new address and assured him this property was a complete upgrade and a cut above the original property we rented. My husband was optimistic and trusting. I called Katherine and she assured me this property was magnificent and she went on to tell me they only rent it to very special guests. We met with Vicki the property manager at the gate and she cautioned us right away to be careful as we climbed the stairs that were very icy, she carried a small container of Morton’s salt and scattered it on the stairs and stoop. She then assured us that the ice would melt in the next couple of hours and would not pose a problem. Two hours later the remaining guests showed up and immediately two fell hard down the stairs.Meanwhile, Vicki proceeded to show us around the house. We became immediately aware that not a single faucet or toilet worked so Vicki proceeded to turn on each one in the home at a trickle to try and unfreeze the pipes. Vicki assured us that within a few hours the faucets, showers, toilets etc. would work normally - unfortunately she was wrong. During the entire trip, all 10 of our party members had to take turns walking outside to the basement apartment, separate from the house to shower or use the only working toilet. We called Vicki on Friday to mention that the pipes were still frozen and she said that there was nothing she could do, but might be able to send a plumber sometime on Saturday. We were leaving Sunday and did not want to wait around all day Saturday for a plumber. The home we originally rented boasted seating for 18 which was a huge draw for our party because we were going to have a catered dinner in on our last evening. However, the biggest disappointment other than the lack of plumbing was that we were right next door to a bar. We had people loitering, getting drunk, smoking and being belligerent at all hours of the night. I understand NOLA is a fun and vibrant city but we purposely booked a home outside of the French Quarter that would give us some peace and quiet. We are sad, disappointed but mostly feel ripped off.
