About Sue Eident
I (Sue) have been coming up to ski at Okemo since I was a child - my family belonged to the Sikorsky Ski Club. Okemo is a mountain for all levels of skiing in such a lovely town. Our kids are now grown and scattered but we had so many wonderful ski weekends at the house when they were young. Now we mostly enjoy kayaking and swimming in our pond or in the lake across the street in summer and snow shoeing in winter, and of course the hot tub! We lived in the Middle East for a few years and have lovely antiques and rugs in the house that we brought back with us.
Sue Eident purchased this Farmhouse in 2000
Why Sue Eident chose Ludlow
My husband and I bought the house in 2001 and have made many improvements since including the addition. We fell in love with it at first sight! First the perfect location, close to the mountain, yet private. The original owner was a farmer and talented violin maker who build the house in 1905 when he was 71! The barn still has the milking stations for his cows. The house has a farmhouse feel and retains many of the original features yet is so comfortable and roomy for modern living.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Perfect location: proximity to the mountain for skiing but wonderful also for summer - swimming or kayaking in our pond or sitting on the porch in the morning enjoying coffee and the fabulous views of the lake across the street and of Okemo Mountain.

Convenient and comfy!!!
Perfect for our family - priced perfectly for a New England farmhouse!! We loved it!!
Great location. Perfect place for families. Love the wood stove and hot tub.
We had a great time as we do every year here.
We had a great time here on our recent ski trip and the location was perfect for Okemo with the shuttle.
Ideal Vermont Setting and Location!
We loved our stay at this house. It was snowed covered and a slice of Vermont Christmas time heaven for us. My boys played ice hockey on the small pond out back, we cooked steaks for dinner, we enjoyed the hot tub (which is HUGE), the fuse ball table is top notch, couches were comfortable and the wood burning stove added just the right touch and warmth. House was VERY clean and everything about the check-in was smooth and easy. We skied every day at Okemo and this house is SO close the mountain (it must be less than 1 mile). We walked there one day on an early morning just to check it out. I will say that the beds and the bedrooms upstairs are a bit tight and small but we managed fine - although the bunk room is huge. Our king bed at home has ruined us. :) Shower pressure was strong which I was thrilled about! I would definitely rent this lovely home again and hope to do so!!!
Decent place great location. Great host. Not sparkling clean. not enough towels.
Great place at a great location. Bring towels with you if you're a big group. Also bring shampoo, soap etc. There is only a few there. If you are picky about cleanliness this is not your place. It's only decent clean. Kitchen is complete for cooking. Great BBQ equipment. Near a very nice lake and within 10 minutes of great hiking, lakes, and skiing area. Very accommodating host as well.
Private, roomy, so close to Okemo!
Our family of six, including four adult children, had a great ski vacation here. The location was perfect. Just a couple minutes from Okemo. We enjoyed the wood stove and hot tub. Our kids went snow shoeing just across the street. Also went to Killington one day, an easy ride. Sue, the owner, was very easy to work with and responded quickly to any inquiries. Highly recommend.
