Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 6)

Our four-season, pet friendly, cozy cabins are located in the heart of Parry Sound/Muskoka.

Nestled beneath towering pine trees our cabins are right on our own beautiful secluded lake. You will be assigned a cabin upon booking.

Enjoy a peaceful getaway with lots of quiet and privacy in a natural setting of forest that surrounds the lake. Wildlife, hiking trails, a now TWO large swimming docks, nearby sandy swim area, campfires, canoes, kayak and paddle boats, fishing or just relaxing in the screened in deck with BBQ (propane included) are all part of the experience.

We have two cottages. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms and a 3 piece bathroom. Natural wood floors and pine interiors make the cottage warm and cozy as do electric heating as well as a fireplace or woodstove. For summertime, ceiling fans in every room ensure you are cool and comfortable. Each cottage is fully equipped including propane for the barbecue, firewood, dishes, cutlery, blankets and pillows. You will need to bring your own firewood, sheets, pillow cases and towels. There is even a firepit for outside campfires.

Each cottage has 2 bedrooms, 1 queen bed and one double bed, a woodstove, futon and a shower or shower/bathtub.

Guests are welcome to bring their pet provided arrangements have been made with us ahead of time. Guests are also asked to clean up after their pet and keep them off the furniture and beds.

Guest access

Guests will have access to their cottage, acres of trails around the cottages and surrounding the lake, and a private swimming dock.

Interaction with guests

We may or may not be onsite during your stay, however are easily reachable should you require anything.

The neighbourhood

Guests can watch the beaver working on the dam, listen to the haunting calls of the loon, and enjoy the antics of the visiting otter family. We have seen moose swim across our lake and deer roam the trails. We are also home to fox, snowshoe hare, raccoon, grouse, hawks, ravens, blue heron and lots of songbirds. Our friendly chipmunks are always a source of entertainment.

We supply a canoe with personal flotation devices and paddles for each cottage. There are 2 pedal boats and a 2 person kayak as well. Many guests explore Lake Manitouwaba or Lower Fry's Lake with the canoes.

We also supply propane barbecues, an outside firepit, and horseshoe pits.

We have two cozy cottages. The original owners (who we know very well) carefully selected and milled their own pine trees for the natural pine, wavy siding and wooden floors to give the cottages a quaint, yet comfortable, look. Each cottage has two bedrooms and comes fully equipped. Pillows and blankets are supplied, but you do need your own bed linens and towels. Each cottage has a beautiful view of the lake and is surrounded by trees and natural vegetation. The living space is extended with a large deck and screened-in Muskoka room overlooking the lake.

Guests swim from the end of our docks where the water is quite deep or they take a five minute walk to a small, pretty sand beach and large, shallow sandy bay on Crown Land in Lake Manitouwaba.

For the fisherman we have perch in our lake, bass in Lake Manitouwaba and Lower Fry's Lake is known for its pike.

There are more than two kilometres of trails on our property for hiking, snowshoeing, or mountain biking. As well, the nearby Seguin Recreation Trail is a popular trail.

Camera buffs will find countless opportunities to catch rugged, yet beautiful scenery on film.

Getting around

We have an ample parking area for your vehicle(s).

Other things to note

The cabin is the perfect getaway for a winter wonderland or summer holiday. We are nestled beneath towering white pines and beside a secluded lake. We have acres of beautiful forest and peace and quiet. Each cottage comes equipped with 4 pairs of snowshoes perfect for blazing your own trail through the snow and exploring the pristine countryside.

We also have more than 2 kilometers of well marked trails throughout the property ideal for cross country skiing or snowshoeing. Be sure to bring your camera. The views are breathtaking and we also have an abundance of wildlife and winter birds. After a day in the snow you can relax in front of the fireplace in the cottage.

Our roads are well plowed by the township and we use our own tractor to keep the driveway clear.

One of the main Seguin (Parry Sound) snowmobile trails is nearby but we don't allow snowmobiling on our property. The Georgian Nordic Ski and Canoe club with many well groomed trails is just 48 km away on Hwy 124. Lake Rosseau, known for its ice fishing is a half hour away.

About Nicole North

We own this property with our brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Linda. We both live in Toronto, and recently purchased this property so that we could own a cottage and cover some of the costs!

Nicole North purchased this cabin in 2016

Why Nicole North chose Seguin

Nicole had been visiting this property for years for girls' weekends. On her last trip in September 2016 she saw for sale signs and didn't hesitate to snatch this beautiful spot up!

What makes this cabin unique

Stunning private and secluded forest setting. Like camping but with out the outhouse and noisy neighbours.
