The house has been totally renovated and decorated with brand new furniture. Large living room with 2 sofas and a dining table, front balcony with vine. The kitchen is very well equipped (fridge, freezer, dishwasher) and spacious. Garden with terrace at the rear. View on the beautiful mountain tops of Mont Charvin. Terrace in the front under the vines. Two bedrooms, modern kitchen and cosy living room.

John and Mariella both have degrees in Hospitality & Hotel Management and have been working in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years. Just what we needed!

Beautifully presented, spacious and well-equipped, in country village, with friendly owners. Location perfect for meeting up with family living nearby. Good walks and excellent boulangerie! At the time of our visit in October, sun is limited somewhat by surrounding buildings - this is the only reason for giving 4 rather than 5 stars.

lovely home away from home

We(4 Adults) stayed at John & Mariella"s lovely home for 10 days. They are wonderful hosts & we felt that we left with 2 great new friends when we headed home. John graciously accommodated us at the last minute when our previously booked place turned out to be unsatisfactory.

The house is spotlessly clean, very spacious & well equipped. The beds are comfortable & the bathroom is modern & large, with double sinks, a large Italian shower & washing machine. There is parking for one vehicle & a nice big back yard with patio furniture & loungers. The little village is quiet & within walking distance to a bakery & a couple of restaurants. Grocery stores & other shops are only a 5-10 min drive.

We are confident to highly recommend this property.

Genütliches Haus in den Bergen

Das Ferienhaus ist hochwertig und gemütlich eingerichtet, die Küche bestens ausgestattet (sogar mit verschiedenen Kaffeemaschinen...). Sehr angenehm fanden wir auch, dass es im Wohnzimmer gleich zwei bequeme Sofas gibt. Wir hatten Glück mit dem Wetter und konnten immer im Garten essen -- mit schönem Bergblick. Komplett umzäunt, perfekt für unseren Hund. Ganz ruhiges, kleine Dorf und sehr freundliche, aufmerksame Vermieter. Man kann zu Fuß in ca. 10 Minuten zum Bäcker laufen, mit dem Auto sind es 5 Minuten bis Faverges, dort gibt's große Geschäfte, Cafés und La Table d'Olivier, bestes frz. Essen zu erschwinglichen Preisen. Marlens ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt zum Wandern oder für Ausflüge an den See. Komplett empfehlenswert.

Perfect get away

Well where do I start? I read previous reviews before booking this property & it certainly lived up to its 5 stars.

My teenage son & I, along with our 2 dogs, had the most fabulous 5 weeks here in Feb/March, so much so that I said to the owners John & Mariella, that I had mixed emotions at writing a review as I wanted to keep it a secret!

The house has everything you could want, with its cosy contemporary interior (rarely found in French lets) & its location being super for exploring the area.

We didn't tire of the local ski areas & mountain restaurants with their cheese fondues & the views across Lac Annecy whilst out dog walking.

The morning walk down to the boulangerie is a must, to have fresh croissants or baguettes to take up onto the slopes.

Mariella & John are so lovely & were so welcoming, they made us feel 'at home' straight away. They became friends & I enjoyed our time together- thank you both.

If you're looking to book here, please remember to keep some weeks free for me to return!!

Fabulous house in a peaceful setting

The house is fabulous, a great size, was perfectly adequate for a family of 4, and has all the amenities you could wish for.

The garden is also great and a good size. Fabulous views of the mountains and mesmerizing with a BBQ and a bottle of red (or two).

The location was excellent for us. Very peaceful at night (except for our kids sometimes). Easy access to Annecy about 13 miles away, Chamonix 45 mins, and Sambuy 20 minutes.

There is a boulangerie 10 minutes walk away which is lovely to walk to in the morning for croissants and other pastries.

John and Mariella are great. They are friendly, helpful and give great advice of where to go. They greeted us on arrival with a pot of tea and juice for the children, a nice touch and just what i needed after a long drive from the North of England.

Would i recommend this property? Without question, yes, absolutely.

Idyllic French Alps retreat

A beautiful, modern homely French retreat , with the most outstanding views enjoyed from the terrace.The accommodation was spotless and extremely comfortable. We are a family of 5.Two adults and three teenage boys, there was plenty of room for us and more.

We have been to this area many times and still find there is so much to do. We explored the mountain roads winding through the picturesque villages .Chairlifts taking us to breathtaking heights and ended our days jumping in the crystal clear waters of lake Annecy.

Thank you to Mariella, John and Louis for for their fantastic hospitality and charm.A truly wonderful two weeks and we would highly recommend this property to friends and relatives and can't wait to return next year.
