This exceptionally nice, renovated converted carriage house sits on a private 250 acre estate. All windows overlook undisturbed fields, mountains, and the Woodstock valley. It is completely furnished, has outside deck with beautiful views, a slate floor ski/mud entrance, and doorstep parking. Convenient to several ski areas (Killington, Suicide Six), downtown Woodstock, great restaurants, shopping, fishing, hiking, Mt Tom National Park, Quechee, and other scenic Vermont areas. Come enjoy the serenity of a visit to the Woodstock area.

Property: The rental is a renovated Carriage House once used to house the horse caretaker. The rental is across the street from the Main house with plenty of privacy. The surrounding 250 acre property is private and undeveloped. There is a small farm with seasonal horses and cows. During the summer months cows graze some of the distant fields as well. There are multiple secluded ponds that can be fished for trout or to view deer, ducks, birds of prey and other wildlife. The property has miles of private hiking trails as well as extensive gardens that have been featured in local publications as well as highly sought after by artist looking for landscape painting and gardening enthusiasts. Guests are welcome to make use of the entire natural property!

Well known and respected Cloudland Farm's farm to table restaurant is just up the hill from us. Rockefeller Estate and the Billings Farm Museum is just down the hill from us. Many industry leaders have their Vermont get-a-way homes abutting our property.

Quintessential Vermont, is The Carriage House !

We stayed at the Carriage House for MLK Holiday weekend. Staying at the Carriage House offered the most lovely landscape in Woodstock Vermont, close to Town with offerings of quaint restaurants and shopping, and the added tree lined drive up to magnificent miles of rolling snow covered hills to the door of the Carriage House, located on Harland Hills. Sking at Killington, and returning to the Carriage House made our stay so cozy, and peaceful, being away from the crowd and yet being within walking distance to Woodstock Town. The Carriage House is maintained in it's beautiful New England structure beams and boast both sunrise and sunsets straight from the Living room with large windows for constant views, we took many pictures. Snowshoes and sleddes are provided and right out the door can be used for walking and sledding down the hills,

so much fun for our family !

The Carriage House offered large bedrooms and living area, decorated in an inviting, charming decor and we loved it !

We will definetly return to the Carriage House for out next stay in Vermont, the Owners were very nice people to interact with, and accomodating, which was so appreciated and made for a wonderful vacation !

Wonderful property!

We had the best time celebrating Christmas in this wonderful town! The carriage house is adorable and extremely clean. Marguerete and Andrew are so kind and checked on us making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. This property is private but close to town which made it very convenient. Highly recommend a visit to the town of Woodstock and staying on this lovely property!

We spent 3 nights at the Carriage House with our family for New Years Eve weekend. What a lovely spot! The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. We woke to beautiful sunrises above the mountains every morning. Our boys enjoyed sledding on the hill right outside the carriage house. The road is picture perfect and so close to town. The owners are right across the street and were very kind and helpful. We’ll definitely book this again and hopefully will get to stay longer.

Peace and serenity on a lovely country road.

This is an impeccable and cozy cottage on a quiet stretch of country road, but is is not too remote, so you never feel isolated. Well furnished with all the necessities, the cottage affords magnificent views of the hills and farms, and the place literally reverberates with bird song. Many days we didn't feel the urge to go and see everything in the area. That's how strong this house tugs on you to just relax and enjoy the natural wonders right out your back door.

Our experience was exceptional.

The listing description accurately portrayed the location, layout and various amenities associated with the Carriage House. It is located on a well maintained country road just north of Woodstock and close to the Billings Farm Museum. The property is gorgeous and offers beautiful views of the surrounding meadows, forested ridges, and mountains beyond from the many windows as well as the attached deck. The house was clean, neat, and well maintained. The owner is polite, informative, and a pleasure to do business with. For those visitors who enjoy nature and the outdoors, the property offers opportunities for hiking, bird-watching, wildflower viewing, nature/landscape photography, sketching, or painting. We found it the perfect home while attending a four day class at the King Arthur Flour Baking School; the commute to the school was beautiful. We prepared and ate most of our meals in the Carriage House, but also enjoyed a couple of local restaurants and found our meals were very good. The shops in Woodstock are unique, we would highly recommend the Vermont Flannel Co. for practical souvenirs. The local library is well worth a visit, it is beautiful and you can print your fishing license there! We brought home cheese and local maple syrup to share with family and friends from nearby Sugarbush Farm. We will be back and highly recommend the Carriage House to anyone wanting to visit Vermont.

So Nice!!

Very nice property in a great location. Views of the surrounding hills and only 2 miles from town. We took our 2 year old. Child friendly inside and not on a busy road. We had a great time and look forward to renting again. Owner was kind and accommodating. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

The Rental Agreement outlines all house rules and payment requirements. Please provide home address and one will be emailed to you. A 50% rental fee and State tax along with a signed Rental Agreement are required to secure the reservations. The balance of 50% rental fee and State tax, and the $500 security deposit are due 90 days prior to arrival. Full refund if cancelled 60 days prior to arrival. Deposit are refunded within one week of departure if the property is returned in good condition. Guest check out after 10 am may be subject to $100 per hour late fee. A $100 fee for any excessive cleaning may also be charged. $50 per night charge per person(s) above the person/Guests max. Owner must authorize all pets prior to arrival. Evening arrivals must be arranged in advanced of arrival. All payments are made via personal or bank check in US$.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
